Through My Lens : Recently

A glimpse of my life recently in photos. I did get the J. Crew Lula Glitter Flats that I was coveting, finally settling on the metallic graphite color. They're super sparkly in person. Unfortunately they're only available online but they're quite comfy and fit true to size if you care to know.
This special edition Hello Kitty x Ladurée box is so cute! We tried the seasonal flavor ~ chocolate and kalamansi which is a bitter orange. It was a lovely combination. You can avoid the crowds at Ladurée if you go there at 10:00 in the morning.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes in Amused and Exposed are my favorite blushes of the moment. I just love their pigmentation and staying power. Amused is a bright and wearable pink and Exposed imparts a really nice natural glow.

Pretty hydrangea in the garden downstairs. The pink ones were my favorite of course. The flowers bloomed and wilted really quickly this year because of the erratic weather.
I choose and shop for all of my husband's clothes so I like to think he's rather well dressed. He rocks the lavender here.
Went to Uniqlo to buy some socks for hubby and spotted Gao Yuan Yuan on an in-store display. This was right after I had an eye candy post featuring her so I was psyched. Also saw HK actor Bosco Wong on a sign in the mens section. He's looking kind of haggard but it's always cool to see Asian actors on things. I don't know who the guy on the right is but he's cute.
Came up with this kale, chicken, quinoa and onion stir-fry while I was on the restricted diet due to my meds. The combo is quite tasty and easy to make. I'll post a recipe soon.
Korean barbecue is a favorite and we went to Muk Eun Ji to partake after I came off the restricted diet. We love Samgyeoppsal (pork belly) but we don't eat it too often.
Happened upon this stunning sculpture on Petrosino Square on the way home one day. "Survival of Serena by artist Carole A. Feuerman is amazingly life-like and adds a great touch of art and summer to Soho.

I love your new J. Crew flats! I might have just purchased some sequined flats from Kate Spade over the weekend instead of the practical walking ones I was looking for. In my defense, they were $50 and I had been looking at something similar the week before. They are perfect for cheering me up on rainy days.

Congratulations on being able to eat everything again! That's such a good thing. Your food pictures are making me hungry and I don't even eat meat! :) I have actually been able to survive the garlic and onion thing with dried peppers - I had to dry and crush them myself but I put them in anything that calls for garlic or onions and it's okay. I have to say I wouldn't have done well at all with the no cold liquids. I drink everything iced or at least cold. Maybe that's my problem :(

I'm distantly related to Joseph Petrosino (the guy they made the park for), I think he was my dad's great uncle (I forget how many greats but there might be another in there). There's a really overly dramatic black and white movie about his life from the 50s that is fun to watch.

Your flats are lovely! The hello kitty x laduree box is ADORABLE! I wanted to keep mine but SOMEBODY stuck a piece of tape to the outside of it and when I tried to gently peel it off it ripped a lot of the design off...so I ended up recycling the box. Ahhhh I really wanted to keep it!!!

Ohohohoh you do dress your hubbie rather well! My bf shops for his own clothes but I guess I have a really heavy influence in what he buys xD

Hahahah when my mum was younger she really looked like Gao yuan yuan's twin!

Oooh recipe for the stir fry please! It looks delicious.

Holy moly...is that a sculpture? it looks SO lifelike!!!

So much goodness in this post! Love your new flats. You chose wisely. I love them too but as I said earlier I love too many of them :) Also, the Laduree box is just adorable. I haven't been up there in a few months. Will have to pop back in soon. And loving the hydrangea. We have blue all around Stuy Town. Soo pretty!

Hope you're having a great week! xoxo

I'm pleased to hear that you're off your restricted diet now. Goodness, it has been a long battle for you but I"m glad to hear you're on the mend. You've just reminded me to make the quinoa salad. I've got all the ingredients in the fridge but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I love the color of your Amuse blusher!

Such loveliness! I was in Shanghai this weekend and saw such great shots of Gao Yuan yuan at Uniqlo!

Ooh and you are reminding me to get to Laduree in the next few days! If you are ever free, it would be fun to chat over macaroons ;)

From these beautiful photos, it seems like things are turning for the better for you health wise which is a blessing. I know when i am sick or not feeling well, i cant enjoy a thing. You are on your way to a full recovery.

What a great way to reward yourself with something sparkly. Thise flats are so darn cute with loads of glittets..who doesn't like glitters. Your Macarons and that Kale/Quinoa dish make me ready for lunch, cant wait for that kale recipe. I love both kale and quinoa. If you love Quinoa, you must try Quinoa with corn and black beans recipe...sooo good. Love all pics, beautiful.

Ha ha, yes I most certainly did grown up on a diet of TVB/Pearl dramas... lol I loved all of them from comedies to the mythical legends complete with costumes & usually some super powerful sword. I think that was the only way that my mum thought I'd make sure I kept my roots and also for my cantonese to not suck.

The sculpture is amazing, I really thought it was a person at first glance hahaha 0o0o0o I was tempted to get the hello kitty box at Laduree's too but it didn't appeal to me too much so I just got a small box of macarons, I didn't get to try the seasonal flavors? but my favorite was the one with the marshmallow filling! Yum!

There was a time where I completely dazed out and almost didn't get off our stop because I didn't open the door handle hahaha I must have looked so silly =P

Those J crew flats are amazingggg - I always think when you're coveting something...GET IT. You regret it 1000 times more once you dont get it than getting it and spending more than you expected for example. My mouth instantly watered at that dish you created as well YUM, it's just given me some dinner inspiration :) And Hydrangeas are up there with some of my fav flowers (like tulips and peonies) .. such a great little look in to your life.
