Random Musings

This photo is from a short film project that I did the still photography for last year. Yes that is a gun between the two people. I don't actually remember the premise of this scene so I'll just leave it to your imaginations.

I apologize for not being able to blog or visit everyone all that much recently. In an effort to remain vertigo-free, I still have to limit my computer time. I've been attending physical therapy sessions twice weekly and doing daily exercises at home for my shoulder. I can't say I've made a whole lot of progress but I've regained just a tiny bit of my range of motion. The exercises have also kicked up a degree of pain which I'm trying to fight through. Some days are better than others.

By the way I'm extremely grateful to everyone who's hung in with me through my health woes this year. Your friendship, support and encouragement have really kept me going at times and means more than you know.

We haven't been as consumed by the Olympics as we thought we might be. We usually just watch whatever happens to be on when we're home at night. The hubster was a high school gymnast and also a girls gymnastics instructor so I get in-depth explanations and little insights on the gymnastic events which make them all the more interesting. I kinda wish he still had his gymnastics outfit.

Finished watching the K-drama Big and the ending was a monumental letdown. I'm not going to go into details since I don't want to spoil it for anyone. There's usually a decent payoff with soul swap story lines but this one totally missed the boat.

The very sweet and talented Michelle of Mykye was inspired by my post on my summer dresses and designed a few midi dresses of her own. I would totally wear each and every one of her lovely designs. See them all here

Speaking of dresses, I'm in love with this one and this one.

This photo of Rena with the ice cream cone is now available for sale as a print in my Etsy shop.

Since everyone seemed to enjoy Daniel Henney in Elle Korea, I'll leave you with his GQ Taiwan cover which was photographed by Loki Tsai. He looks jaunty in Burberry. You can catch the editorial here though the interview is in Chinese.

Don't worry about not spending enough time visiting blogs and stuff - take it easy! Your health is most important! I hope your exercises don't get too painful, and I send all my wishes to you for good progress on your therapy! :)

No need to apologize, love. The most important thing is your health and I'm so happy that you are on the road to recovery. I know it's been a long and slow journey for you but I'm glad to know that it's going in the right direction.

Love that shot you took. Totally makes my imagination go wild! And so interesting to know about your hubby. I took gymnastics when I was younger and have been a gymnast in my dreams from then on. In reality I haven't stepped foot near a gymnastics center since I was 12 years old. LOL.

Have a wonderful day, sweetie! xoxo

Any recovery/progress is better than the existing state so I am glad you are providing us updates :) Now on to Mr. Henney...oooh! He is really good looking, and I am convinced that swimmer Adrian Nathan is mixed asian!

Oh bless you hun, I hope you take some time to just rest... we're always here sweets... Now then, Mr. Henney, swoooon!
The sketches are just too cute! Love frock no. 1!
I also adore touche eclat, but sometimes you need to try other stuff out there at drugstore prices... Rimmel seems to be good enough for me right now! That and drinking lots of water!

- My random Q of the day - have you seen Midnight in Paris yet? I haven't but figured you might like it since I've heard such great things about it.
Rest up ladybug.

Haha...he looks like he's having fun! :) Don't worry about not being able to visit all your blogs. Your health is more important. And this probably has zero to do w/ the scene you shot (great pic btw!) but I like her seafoam dress...lol.

So, thank you! Michelle of Mykye is AWESOME! I love a superb illustrator :) I would wear ANY of those designs. She is so talented. I must check out her site. Thanks for showcasing her. I was so busy looking at the fabulous dress in your short film project that I didn't notice the gun. HaHaHa Great work Rowena! I can't imagine what you're going through Rowena. I'm glad that you're seeing improvement each and every day. It takes time and I'm glad you know your limitations and restrictions. They're important to follow. I'll always be here. I always wanted to watch gymnastics with someone who can really tell the difference why a gymnast got 1 point more than the similar-performing previous one!! You have that pleasure:-) Hope you are having a wonderful day!

Hi Rowena,

What an interesting photograph you took! Lots of drama going on there. I too would wear any of those dresses ~ I wish I could draw like that!

I'm so sorry that you've been suffering with vertigo. One of my friends has it and it's terrible to see what she goes through. I cannot imagine.. I hope your medical team is helping you. Take whatever time you need..

Take care :)

Hi darling, you don't have to feel bad for not being able to visit blogs, your health is first and foremost the most important thing. I hope that your condition is improving, it can be debilitating at times I've seen. Love her illustrations, so cute and creative! And great eye candy to leave us with for the weekend!

Girl!! don't apologise! You are so sweet! <3

Take care of yourself! Get well soon!!

First, your opening image is stunning. It is darkly ephemeral, and I am in love with it. :)
Second, don't apologize for not being able to visit all of us! I hope you get better soon. And ahhh, you watched Big?!? I agree with you - the ending was such a let down. I honestly expected better from the Hong Sisters, since they did so well in previous years, and this was such a juicy premise. Sad.
And lastly, Loki Tsai is an awesome photographer name. And of course, Daniel Henney is too charming.

I'm glad you are filling better, sweetie, but I wish the process'd be faster and less painful to you!!!

Getting better can be just as bad as growing sick, especially after being not so well for so long =S
Still, don't worry, you'll get there! The pain in the shoulder will probably get better in no time, you'll see! And since you can't spend as much time at the computer, it might be the perfect time for you to take up something different, no?
Those drawing look great and the gymnastics events are some of the very few I've been watching as well! I would love to have someone to discuss gymnastics with, unfortunately neither my family or my boyfriend take a particular interest in it xD

Thanks so much for your comment on my blog, much like you, your support means a lot!

Ugh, I'm so sorry you are still feeling poorly. Too bad we don't live closer, with me and my cranky hands and feet and you and your dizziness and angry shoulder, we'd make quite a pair. :)

I'm not even sure what to think about Big. I've seen the ending twice already since I couldn't remember if I had fallen asleep or not but I guess I just keep forgetting to protect myself from how disappointing it was. Right now I couldn't tell you what happened.

Your photos are amazing as always! I hope you continue to get a bit better!!

That first photo could be the cover photo of Jodie Picoult's The Pact. Have you read that book?

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Get 100% soon!

(((hugs))) It's frustrating that recovery is a little slow but take it one day at a time. I was glued to the screen during the gymnastics. How lucky that your hubs was able to dissect the moves for you :) take care and hope you feel better soon.

burberry is fantastic, always thinking of new ways to make the trench coat new. your photo has a dreamy kind of eery feel to it and of course your little dolls are always so cute. ahhh i will pray for you, i hate even getting a paper cut so hang in there! eeesh you put my sketch there you nice person. my internet wasn't working during my vacation so gymnastics and swimming is all i watched at night for a whole week. but i do like gymnastics. i would like to learn how to do a backflip, how much would your hubby charge :P ? yes Big's ending was a HUGE letdown and i had to watch the ending more than once to get it. Drama started out good for me and kept on dragging. SIGH. I am watching Gentleman's Dignity now, I think the main gal;s freak outs are a little took exaggerated but dang she looks good in mini dresses. the computer is not good to be on anyways. aish. okay i think i just wrote a whole book on your post. you could just buy your hubby one of those skin tight biker outfits instead, does he still have gymnast arms?
