Eye Candy : Shin Min Ah for Harper's Bazaar

August 30, 2012

Shin Min Ah is radiantly alluring in the September edition of Harper's Bazaar Korea. The actress wears Burberry Prorsum FW 2012 in the editorial titled Being Cinema Angel photographed by Kim Young Jun and styled by Yun Ju Kang. She speaks about acting and her comeback in the new drama Arang and the Magistrate in which she portrays a wandering ghost who has no recollection of how she died. I wonder if she might be cornering the market on gorgeous otherworldly beings since her last role was the titular Gumiho in My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. I generally don't watch saeguk (historical) dramas but Arang might go on the list since it's billed as a fantasy melo comedy. The comedy would be a draw. I'm currently watching A Gentleman's Dignity and Panda and Hedgehog.

I'm still not around much since I'm still fighting vertigo and tinnitus. Thankfully it hasn't been anywhere as bad as before. My shoulder condition is improving. The inflammation has finally subsided which means a lot less pain and a slight recovery of motion which makes life abit easier.

Rena & Ian : Picnic in the Park

August 22, 2012
On Rena: Top: Barbie Model Muse // Capris: Barbie // Shoes: Re-ment
On Ian: T-shirt: Fashionista Ken // Jeans: Ken // Trainers: 1:16 scale Nike // 1:16 scale watch

Rena and Ian enjoy picnics in the park when the weather is nice. They're trying to get in a few more while summer is still here. This time they brought bento boxes with onigiri and inari sushi and kebabs. Rena tends to like to skip to the sweets first and goes right for the chocolate. She has abit of a sweet tooth. Ian entertains them with acoustic guitar music as they while away the afternoon with their dog Noodles. All the food here is from Re-Ment which I wrote about in my previous dollie post. Are you a fan of picnics?

Eye Candy : Zhou Xun for Elle

August 15, 2012

Zhou Xun is the star of this dramatic editorial for the current edition of Elle China. The streets of Paris provide a backdrop for the dreamlike reality created in these photos. I couldn't find the information but I would presume she's wearing Chanel considering she's an ambassador for the brand. She was also a part of The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited book and exhibition.

The actress is currently on screens in Asia in the supernatural fantasy Painted Skin: The Resurrection which is a sequel of sorts to the 2008 Painted Skin. The first one was disappointing but I might watch this because the original cast of Zhou Xun, Zhao Wei and Chen Kun all return and they're all favorites of mine. She will be making her Hollywood debut in the epic adventure Cloud Atlas starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry which comes out this fall. The film which is based on the book of the same name is described as an exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution. From the trailer I watched, it looks like it could be really amazing or a total train wreck. Each actor plays multiple roles and Hugh Grant is barely recognizable as a villain.

I haven't been around because I had to shut it down last week after feeling like I might be relapsing into a state of vertigo and tinnitus again. Abundant amounts of rest and limiting my computer time has helped and I need to keep it up for now as well as continue physical therapy for my shoulder. Pinterest has saved me from utter boredom. I can't use it much on my desktop but at least the app on my iTouch doesn't make me dizzy. I miss everyone and will try to pay a visit soon during my allotted computer times.

Eye Candy : Du Juan for Vogue China Supplement

Thank you all for your incredible support on my last post! I'm so lucky to have some of the most amazing blogger buddies.

Random Musings

August 2, 2012

This photo is from a short film project that I did the still photography for last year. Yes that is a gun between the two people. I don't actually remember the premise of this scene so I'll just leave it to your imaginations.

I apologize for not being able to blog or visit everyone all that much recently. In an effort to remain vertigo-free, I still have to limit my computer time. I've been attending physical therapy sessions twice weekly and doing daily exercises at home for my shoulder. I can't say I've made a whole lot of progress but I've regained just a tiny bit of my range of motion. The exercises have also kicked up a degree of pain which I'm trying to fight through. Some days are better than others.

By the way I'm extremely grateful to everyone who's hung in with me through my health woes this year. Your friendship, support and encouragement have really kept me going at times and means more than you know.

We haven't been as consumed by the Olympics as we thought we might be. We usually just watch whatever happens to be on when we're home at night. The hubster was a high school gymnast and also a girls gymnastics instructor so I get in-depth explanations and little insights on the gymnastic events which make them all the more interesting. I kinda wish he still had his gymnastics outfit.

Finished watching the K-drama Big and the ending was a monumental letdown. I'm not going to go into details since I don't want to spoil it for anyone. There's usually a decent payoff with soul swap story lines but this one totally missed the boat.

The very sweet and talented Michelle of Mykye was inspired by my post on my summer dresses and designed a few midi dresses of her own. I would totally wear each and every one of her lovely designs. See them all here

Speaking of dresses, I'm in love with this one and this one.

This photo of Rena with the ice cream cone is now available for sale as a print in my Etsy shop.

Since everyone seemed to enjoy Daniel Henney in Elle Korea, I'll leave you with his GQ Taiwan cover which was photographed by Loki Tsai. He looks jaunty in Burberry. You can catch the editorial here though the interview is in Chinese.
