Pinteresting Things : Sneaker Chic

Sneaker Style, Street Style Sneakers, Sneaker Street Style

My pins on Pinterest usually reflect my interests and my Style Files board would reveal that I'm currently semi-obsessed with sneaker chic street style and the fact that it's actually a thing at the moment. I'm quite excited that there are so many stylish sneaker options on the market now as well as the footwear itself being acceptable in fashion. I've never really been one to believe that style and comfort were mutually exclusive and I'd still wear my Nike Air Pegasus 83's and newly rediscovered old Stella McCartney Adidas kicks even if they weren't in. Vogue just did a story last week on 10 looks to style around sneakers. And the above image of Malgosia Bela by Andreas Larsson is from Self Service magazine. Would you adopt sneakers into your look? Do any of these speak to you?

See I feel like this is one of those things that looks good on everyone but me. Haha. I don't know...maybe I should be Sneaker adventurous.

I agree with Alexa ^ lol Plus, I can only afford/justify having one or two pair of sneakers at a time at most. Otherwise I think it would be pretty hard to try to adjust clothes to match the sneakers (especially if isn't black/white/grey/navy) These photos make it look so easy though...hmm maybe I shouldn't be so hesitant to try anyways :P

My favourite is the tutu skirt with the bright pink shoes. I love the contrast between the style of skirt and the shoes. But I also like how the pink fitt in with the femininity of the tutu skirt. Hope that makes sense.

Love the tutu one, though I only wear my sneakers when I'm exercising. This looks fab though. Have a great week doll x

Hi Rowena, do you know I don't even own a single pair of sneakers, I guess I am just the girly type. But seeing this stylish inspirations, I figure that sneakers can be used in a very fashionable way. Great ideas! May your week get off to a great start!

I'm a huge fan of this look, Rowena! I think I wear sneakers about 90% of the time, just because they're so comfortable. I love all the pics you posted.

I really like them on other people, but unfortunately, don't feel comfortable wearing them unless I work out or walk my dog. So it's still oxfords for me... x

I think I'd feel way too sporty if I wore sneakers with my outfits but it's an interesting trend.

I love the idea of chic sneakers, but I know that I would look so weird in this trend. Mostly because the only sneakers I own are huge white running shoes :P

Haha.. I am so not a sneaker person. I do like some of the looks here, especially that lady under the Maroni sign, but I can't help feeling these work better on skinnier legs. I actually have muscular runner's legs (yeah, paradox right) and hate wearing sneaks for anything except actually exercising.

I think the sporty mini is darling with the sneakers. There is a lulu skirt that is popular at the gym;) and the women where their sneakers with it (usually the colorful Nike brand) I have a tulle skirt.. hmm maybe I try sneakers with it;)

I've been seeing this look a lot and don't think I'd be able to pull it off. It would be nice though because, damn, heels can be so uncomfortable sometimes!!! haha. I'm still not sure how I feel about this look, but am definitely looking forward to seeing more of it!

I don't like this type of sneakers. I do like Converses though.

I like 2 and 3 best and I'm glad people are finally catching up with me trend-wise ;). I will probably never be on a street style blog with mine but I agree that comfort and style shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

trishie said...

I would never have thought to pair sneakers with a tutu but that lady sure makes it work!

Happyeverafterbride said...

I would completely adopt looks 2 & 3 I reckon. I am not so much a sneakers girl, but I can't say no to such comfortable footwear if it's acceptable now amongst the stylish.
