Review : Resvology Age Corrective Eye Cream

October 30, 2013
Resvology Age Corrective Eye Cream Review, Eye Cream, Eye Cream Review

One thing I'm always grateful for is the fact that I learned I should be be using eye cream at a young age and the preventative effects have paid off. Now that I'm older I don't really have wrinkles around my eyes though I do get dark circles from time to time which is vexing. Since it's a concern I'm looking to address, I'm always on the lookout for eye care products that can help to minimize them while continuing to keep wrinkles at bay. And I'm hoping that Resvology Age Corrective Eye Cream could be one that makes a difference. After all it is the 2013 winner of the HBA Global New Product Showcase "People's Choice Award" and the HBA Global "The Best of SPLASH Award".

Product Claims: The Age Corrective Eye Cream is a hydrating and rejuvenating anti-aging eye cream infused with active peptides, botanicals and the multi-patented 4-AR Molecule, clinically proven to help fuel healthy gene activity by 330%. Safe for all skin types, this lightweight formula helps minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and crow's feet, improves skin's firmness, deflates puffiness and brightens dark circles.

Key Ingredients: 4-AR Molecule, Targeted Peptides, Vitamins A, E and C Ester, Panthenol, Barley, Sandalwood and Olive extracts. It's also worth noting that this product is non-comedogenic, hypoallergenic, not tested on animals and free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, triclosan, phthalates and GMOs.

Packaging: A sleek white and silver bottle with a pump. This is actually my preferred type of dispenser for eye cream since it's the most hygienic. It can also be easily opened so no product will be wasted when you get to the end.
$89 for 0.5 fl oz /15 ml

My Impressions: It has a nice lightweight yet emollient texture and is unscented which are qualities I usually look for in an eye cream. The cream absorbs quickly and I didn't have any irritation issues which sometimes occur when trying new eye products since my skin tends to be sensitive. I've been using it for just under two weeks now and I feel like my eye area is well hydrated and smoother as a result. I think I will have to use it for longer to speak of the wrinkle and dark circle reducing effects but I have noticed less puffiness around my eyes when I wake up in the morning so that's promising. It's too soon for me to say if I would purchase this but I would consider it if I continue to see positive results. It's a tad pricey but I only need one pump for each application. Besides I've paid more for eye cream and I'm willing to invest in good skincare as long as it works.

You can learn more about this eye cream as well as the entire line of Resvology anti-aging face and body products on their website and be sure to friend them on Facebook for the latest news and promos.

What are your eye area concerns? Do you use eye cream? Care to share your favorites?

Disclosure: I was sent a sample of this eye cream for the purposes of this review. I was not provided any other compensation and all opinions expressed are 100% my own.

Eye Candy : Song Hye Kyo for Harper's Bazaar

October 25, 2013
Song Hye Kyo, 송혜교, Song Hye Kyo Harpers Bazaar, Song Hye Kyo Harpers Bazaar 2013

The ever beautiful Song Hye Kyo is the first actress to simultaneously appear in both the Chinese and Korean editions of Harper's Bazaar this month. She models pieces from the Burberry Prorsum FW 2013 collection as the face of the Cinema Angel project which benefits the Korean movie industry. Proving what an angel she is, Hye Kyo donated the proceeds from this shoot towards the purchase of 1,000 tickets for the underprivileged youth in Busan to attend the Busan International Film Festival. While the China cover/editorial was totally stunning, I think I like this one even more because of it's artful high fashion feel. It's astounding how flawless she actually is. The magazine posted a behind the scenes video of the photoshoot that reveals how she obviously requires no retouching. Hye Kyo is currently filming John Woo's The Crossing which boasts a star studded cast that includes Takeshi Kaneshiro, Huang Xiaoming, Zhang Ziyi and Masami Nagasawa.

Sweater Love

October 23, 2013
There have been some additions and subtractions since I shared this peek at my colorful sweater collection but one thing which has remained the same is my love for sweaters when the weather chills. These are some that I wouldn't mind adding to my closet. The one I most covet is the bunny sweater. It's so whimsically fabulous and I do have a love for bunnies. Are you a fan of sweaters during the winter months? Which one of these would you wear if any?

Pinteresting Things : Sneaker Chic

October 21, 2013
Sneaker Style, Street Style Sneakers, Sneaker Street Style

My pins on Pinterest usually reflect my interests and my Style Files board would reveal that I'm currently semi-obsessed with sneaker chic street style and the fact that it's actually a thing at the moment. I'm quite excited that there are so many stylish sneaker options on the market now as well as the footwear itself being acceptable in fashion. I've never really been one to believe that style and comfort were mutually exclusive and I'd still wear my Nike Air Pegasus 83's and newly rediscovered old Stella McCartney Adidas kicks even if they weren't in. Vogue just did a story last week on 10 looks to style around sneakers. And the above image of Malgosia Bela by Andreas Larsson is from Self Service magazine. Would you adopt sneakers into your look? Do any of these speak to you?

Ni Ni for Woman's Day

October 18, 2013

Ni Ni is postively radiant on the cover of Woman's Day China. The Chinese actress made her film debut at 23 in acclaimed director Zhang Yimou's The Flowers of WarShe received much praise for her strong performance alongside no less than Christian Bale. I don't recall much about that movie but I do remember her. And that's about all I know about Ni Ni aside from the fact that she's currently dating actor Feng Shao Feng. The blithe mood of this editorial is delightfully refreshing. She is gorgeous and so is the dreamy Tory Burch Liv dress she's wearing on the cover and in the third photo which is my favorite of this series.

Shoe Crush : Louis Vuitton

October 16, 2013

Okay I'm working a bit of a shoe crush as well as a photo crush here. This stunning image is part of the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2013 Campaign photographed by Koto Bolofo. The model is Dree Hemingway and the location is the historic Hôtel de Crillon in Paris. These dazzlers, aptly named the Movie Star Sandal in Satin and Sequins features a transparent plexiglass wedge with more than 300 sequins painstakingly embroidered onto the curved heels. The artful shape of this shoe is so very glamorous and sexy at the same time. The Louis Vuitton website doesn't list a price for them but I imagine they'd be quite pricey. Get a fascinating look at the impressive production process inside the Louis Vuitton shoe factory. A bit of good news, I''m out of my ankle brace and getting to wear the object of my last shoe crush.

Shop for a Cause : Breast Cancer Awareness

October 14, 2013
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. You can show your support by buying pink products that benefit BCA charities but make sure you do so carefully since not all pink products are created equal. Some products are merely branded pink and don't actually make any type of contribution towards the cause or if they do, it may not be as much as you think. While it's admirable for companies to raise awareness and make any type of donation to help fight breast cancer, I wanted to specifically spotlight products in which at least 50% or more of the proceeds from the sales will actually go to benefit BCA charities. My buddy Kim also did a relevant post about this topic last week.

Check out the infographic below for some staggering statistics and advice on how to lower your risk of developing breast cancer. It was created by Julep in partnership with The Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation.

Eye Candy : Lee Seung Gi for CéCi

October 11, 2013

CéCi magazine fȇte's it's 19th anniversary this month with a jaunty Lee Seung Gi covering their Korea, China and Thailand editions. The cover right below is my favorite. That suit is sharp! The editorial which is totally adorable in my opinion and I am biased, casts the talented singer/actor in the role of a dapper baker. I'm loving the BTS video and glad his sweet smile is back as I was missing it in his Hawaiian Esquire pictorial. His hair is looking extremely good these days too. I was excited to learn that he would be making a return to variety with his PD from 1N2D in a spin-off of the travel themed Grandpas Over Flowers which will feature 4 actresses and Seung Gi acting as their porter. The actors journeyed to France and Taiwan and I look forward to seeing what destinations and sweet torture lie ahead for him on this new show.

Cook : Tomato and Goat Cheese Salad with Basil Dressing Recipe

October 9, 2013

While I do enjoy dining out, I actually cook at home quite often and I try to keep it healthy, quick and easy for the most part. I'm a big fan of salads for lunch and this is one that I especially love. Besides being incredibly delicious and satisfying, it literally takes just minutes to prepare. If you like insalata caprese, you will probably also enjoy this as it is a twist on that using goat cheese instead of mozzarella. The flavor is really fresh and bright which highlights the natural sweetness of tomatoes beautifully. This recipe can be easily doubled to serve two.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Enamored High Shine Nail Lacquer 142 Fluorescent Beige : I'm absolutely smitten with this nail polish. The color which is described as an iridescent mauve pink is like a kicked up neutral that can't be more perfect in my eyes. It's a sophisticated multi-dimensional shade that ranges from a greyish beige to a glowy mauve depending on the light. The formulation is easy to apply, quick to dry and remains glossy and chip-free with my Seche Vite topcoat for over a week on my toes.

Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious Volume + Length Mascara : This mascara provides both volume and length though I think it performs just a tad better on the former. More importantly for me, it applies without clumping, wears without flaking and can be easily removed at the end of the day. The price also can't be beat for a product you have to discard in 3 months. I wear 2 coats for a natural daytime look and add an extra coat for a more dramatic lash look.

Harmless Harvest 100% Raw Coconut Water : I'm a big fan of coconut water because it delivers restorative hydration with the added benefit of electrolytes. This raw unpasteurized organic version is by far the most delicious coconut water I've tried. The taste is refreshingly vibrant with a slightly nutty note and an incredible clean mouth feel. It contains no additives or preservatives and is about as close as one can come to sipping the juice right out of a fresh young coconut.

Have you tried any of these products? And do tell if you have any recent loves.

Eye Candy : Song Hye Kyo for Harper's Bazaar

October 4, 2013
Song Hye Kyo, 송혜교, Song Hye Kyo Harpers Bazaar

Harper's Bazaar China's 27th anniversary issue features a truly breathtaking double cover and pictorial with Song Hye Kyo. The Korean actress has been praised as the most beautiful actress in Asia by renowned filmmaker Wong Kar Wai who directed her in The Grandmaster and for once it's no exaggeration. Her looks are enviable for sure but from the accounts I've read about her kindness and charitable efforts, she is a beauty inside and out. Hye Kyo has come a long way from her early dramas, Autumn Love Story and Full House and the way she continues to grow and challenge herself as an actress while remaining humble and down to earth is incredibly admirable. It's really no surprise she is considered an ideal woman by many male celebrities. I love her bob but the images with the extensions are just exquisite.
