Fashion : A Wedding Jumpsuit

J Crew Jumpsuit, Wedding Jumpsuit, Lace Jumpsuit, Wedding Dress Alternative

J. Crew included this stylish Eyelash Lace Jumpsuit in their Spring 2014 wedding collection and I think it's rather fresh and fabulous. I can see this as a chic option for a modern bride. The jumpsuit is an updated silhouette but it still retains the styling of a more traditional wedding gown. What's more it has pockets and pretty bow details in the back. If I were getting married now, I'd definitely consider it. I think the re-wearabilty factor would be awesome and could even see dyeing it black to get even more out of it. Would you get married in a jumpsuit?

Speaking of wedding gowns, I actually bought mine at a sample sale at the Mark Ingram Atelier during my lunch hour from work which I didn't even want to go to but a coworker convinced me to. It has similar sheer cap sleeves and a lace overlay like this jumpsuit along with a small kick train. As soon as I laid eyes on it, I had a feeling that it was going to be my dress. When it fit perfectly, I was convinced. And I couldn't believe my luck since it was marked down to $225 from $3,800. That had to be one of my best cases of shopping karma ever. If you're married, how did you find your wedding dress?

A jumpsuit is definitely unique for weddings, I do love the back detailing, although I think I prefer a dress for a wedding personally, but I love lace and would wear this in a different colour normally! :-) x/Madison

This is beautiful!! Haven't worn a jumpsuit in years, but I was looking at one and thinking I might wear one again. A lace one would definitely be gorgeous xx

It's beautiful! As for my wedding dress… Well, it wasn't exactly the wedding wedding dress, but rather a lace shift number I found two days before the wedding. I still wear it from time to time. :)

A big YES for me. I was saying to my hubby we should renew our vows, and this is definitely a style I'd consider wearing:)

Morning Rowena! I never saw a wedding jumpsuit so far but I wouldnt afraid to wear it (so you could wear it even after the wedding!). Love the lace and the bow details on the back. I also like the fact it got pockets, too cute! Your wedding dress sounds amazing, have checked out the site..dreamy! Lol, it was really a great bargain, well done!:) Have a good day dear, kisses! xo

This looks lovely but I'm more of a girly girl. I brought my wedding dress at RK Bridal, but my wedding was a disaster cause my father in law picked the venue so I had a typical Chinese wedding instead of my dream wedding. =(

that's really pretty. it's not for me but i really like it/

I don't think my fiancee would like a wedding "gown" like that. Her mom is suppose to be making her dress (I'd rather go to a bridal shop but she heavily insisted) so I have no idea how that will turn out.

So cool - it's definitely for a modern bride!
You have the BEST shopping luck! I've wanted to stop by his sample sale, but there wasn't one when I was wedding planning. I ended up getting a few gowns (ceremony and then reception) and found a gorgeous dress at Pronovias and eBay for a Monique Lhuiller gown (so awesome!)

Hmmmm...a jumpsuit as a wedding dress, very interesting Rowena. I am sure some ladies can pull that off but I will stick with the gown. It is the utmost feminine. I had two, one in a traditional Thai dress and another is a western white gown. I rented the latter, it is a popular option in my country. Very few people actually purchase ones. I would love to see yours.

that is so cool for them to do it!!! i didn't know. i'm very traditional and would get married in a dress, but for the reception i would totally do this.

It's beautiful and very chic. I love out of the ordinary wedding dresses. My dress was a meringue of tulle and silk in light pink, with golden embroidery. I got it at a sample sale too, but my bargain was not as good as yours! You made me dream Rowena dear!

Hi Rowena, I have noticed that jumpsuits are going to be a big wedding trend, I think its perfect for the bride that doesn't want something too fussy...I on the other hand would prefer a princess dress. Thanks for the recipe suggestions! Hope your week is going well hun.

I've seen talk of this new trend for weddings and it's really unique and cool, but I'm on the short side so a jumpsuit wouldn't be very flattering for me. I'd probably wear a regular dress and hope I don't trip over it. :P

That was a fantastic deal, Rowenal!

TBH, I king of would prefer this jumpsuit in black, since it probably wouldn't be so flattering on me. Then again, I'm fairly certain my mother would murder me if I walked down the aisle in a black jumpsuit lol

This is so modern and chic! Though it would look like a baggy onesie on me - I just don't have the height for jumpsuits! :P

This is actually very cool! I'm not sure I would get married in a jumpsuit, but I think it's a great choice for the party after you get married, that way you can be more comfortable but still look like a bride. Great post Rowena! :)

Back when I got married, you went to a "wedding dress store" with your mom and bought traditional attire. I enjoy the newest fashions in this area. Young ladies are so attuned to their own needs and desires and their creativity is amazing. Weddings aren't what they used to be! This jumpsuit is lots of fun. J Crew has wonderful and reasonably priced options for this special day:) Hope you week is going well! xxleslie

Talk about unique! It's absolutely gorgeous. How's the new year treating you? If you're like many of us and have resolved to spend a little less this year, we'd love to tell you about Dorco. We're a shaving company providing quality razors for up to 70% less than leading brands. Chances are you're paying way too much for razors. Plus, by switching to Dorco you can finally afford to change your blades often, which will result in happier, healthier skin (something else I think we all want in 2014!) You don't have to sacrifice quality to save so much, though. Read what others think about our products at DorcoUSA.com, and check out our prices for yourself while you're there. Thanks for hearing us out, and we wish you all the best in 2014!

I think that jumpsuit is gorgeous. I'm more of a traditional kind of girl and would definitely wear a wedding dress, but I think this jumpsuit is so pretty, I'm sure I could find an occasion to wear it. I love the little bows up the back and the sheer lace sleeves. It's so ethereal and classy. Aww, that is so exciting you found your wedding dress! I hope you post a picture soon! It sounds really pretty and holy cow- that is quite the mark down!!! It's fate that you found that dress : )

That jumpsuit is stunning!! I love jumpsuits but I wonder if I could ever pull them off since I am so short.
I really do love the design of this one and omg , that is a huge markdown!! 3000+ is crazy prices, but 200+ is a bit more reasonable. Still high, but a major mark down!

A jumpsuit in lieu of a dress?? How scandalous! It does sound like a fantastic idea, and it does break traditional societal-cultural gender norms, but I'd love to see how the people would react to that, haha.

+ that's amazing; congrats on scoring a wedding dress!! That's one heck of a reduction, and it's probably meant to be with the fit + price ;)

I could never wear a jumpsuit myself for a wedding, but I like the look of this one. That is a seriously good price you paid for your own dress and it sounds really pretty!

My cat has to tolerate my antics because I put up with so much more. She's very enthusiastic about everything and in that mode she has a tendency to destroy whatever is in her path {I lost 3 or 4 chargers over the last month}.
