Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish Review

Microdermabrasion used to sound like a scary process to me. I think it may have had something to do with the word abrasion being in it. Then I learned that it's actually a physical exfoliation treatment that removes the top layer of skin to rejuvenate it and increase cell turnover. This helps to give skin a glow as well as improve the appearance of pores, fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and acne scars. It first started as a procedure that had to be done at a dermatologist's office or spa but there are now many in home products that offer the same benefits. I actually used to use one but gave it up when my skin became ultra sensitive. I decided to give it another try with Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish.

About the Brand: Exuviance is the creation of doctors Van Scott and Yu, widely recognized as leaders in the field of cosmetic dermatology. They discovered the anti-aging benefits of glycolic acid and created and patented the first glycolic peel. Since their ground-breaking discovery, the creators of Exuviance have continued to develop many new patented anti-aging ingredients backed by evidence from numerous scientific and clinical studies. Exuviance formulas are recognized around the world and expertly developed to visibly transform skin by combining their patented innovations with the best, state of the art technologies available in dermatology today.

Product Claims: Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish contains pure professional grade crystals used by dermatologists to smooth skin. It employs a unique blend of physical, chemical and enzyme rejuvenators for instant, dramatic skin resurfacing results.

Key Ingredients: Glycolic Acid and Papaya Enzyme, Professional Grade Crystals, Lactobionic Acid. Does not contain plastic polyethylene beads which may be harmful to the environment.

Packaging: A somewhat clinical yet sleek looking metallic colored tube which makes for easy dispensing.

Price: Retail is $72 for a 2.6 oz. tube.

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish Review

My Impressions: The recommended usage for this product is one to two times a week. I've been using it once a week. After washing my face, I apply a thin layer to my clean, wet face and lightly massage it in a circular motion for 30 seconds avoiding my eye area. I let the product sit on my skin for  a minute before rinsing thoroughly. You can leave it on for 2 minutes if you don't have sensitive skin. My skin was left incredibly soft and smooth and I feel like my skincare products sank in better immediately afterwards. And my skin also looked better than usual the next morning. The product is a peachy colored cream with a mild citrus type scent that I didn't particularly care for or mind. You definitely have to use this with a light touch as per the instructions because those professional grade crystals are no joke and you will feel them if you press down. I've only used this twice so I can't say I've seen any reduced appearance of pore size or dark spots yet but I'm hopeful. I had an initial concern about irritation but I didn't experience any so I plan to continue using this product. It is a little costly but considering the price of a typical in-office treatment is $100 - $200 this isn't bad and it is also more convenient.

Exuviance Triple Microdermabrasion Face Polish is available through the NeoStrata website.

I have always wanted to try one of these but feared the abrasion thing as well! But if there is a chance that it may reduce brown spots I am in! Do you use essential oils at all?? I have just started getting into them and there are a few that help with different skin issues. I hope that this weekend is a good one for you buddy! Nicole xoxo

I love the idea of microdermabrasion, but I don't think it loves me! I've been looking for a product for years that doesn't use the grit of the product to actually do the work. This one sounds great - more like the product does the work!

You know, recently I went to a cosmetician. It was my first facial and I was shocked on the next day. But after 2 days my skin was really clean. Also, the cosmetician advised me to buy a polish and use it once a week. I think this product will be perfect for me! I don't have sensitive skin, so I am not afraid of using it even twice a week. It's a bit pricey, yep, that would be the only reason I wouldn't buy it. Have a nice weekend, Rowena! xo

Well, that word is scary also to me and in fact I always avoided this kind of products, the truth is that when I was younger I damaged my skin using one so aggressive! But this one sounds good and super professional, Id be curious to try it but once a week as you did, I still have my skin so sensitive but Id love to lighten some dark spot I still have 'cause the sun. Have a lovely weekend dear Rowena! xo

I have been curious about the process and how my skin would react to it. My skin is ridiculously sensitive that any facial scrub can irritate so i am not sure about microdermabrasion. This product looks good though. Wish it comes in a smaller size in case it doesn't work out. Thank you for the review, Rowena.

I actually like a hardcore exfoliator like this one, and I think it would be super effective employing both acids and enzymes. Definitely something should be used in caution, though!
I like the Exuviance brand a lot. Their AHA is in a form that is milder yet as effective, and the whole line made a big difference when I used it. :)

They sound scary to me too. I tried it once, and my skin got really irritated. Glad to hear that you had a good experience with it. I might try it if there's a sample size. Thanks for the review. Have a good weekend, Rowena!

Although the price does sound a little steep for the volume provided, as you've said a professional treatment would cost far more! Thanks for easing my concerns on that scary word 'microdermabrasion' Rowena :)

Hi Rowena, I haven't tried microdermabrasion yet cos I have sensitive skin and not sure if that works for me. They say you have to be careful when you're having allergies. I would have to ask my dermatologist first. Yes that really sucks. I can't even use my beloved organic beauty products anymore. It's not a problem during the winter but now I even got an eczema. Every year the same procedure lol! I'm glad it works for you. Wish you a happy Saturday!

I wonder if this product works the same way as Ginvera Marvel Gel and that Japanese product called "Cure". They also exfoliate the surface layer of skin and as you rub, there are bits of what feels like eraser dirt which is actually the dead skin cell. If it works the same way then such microdermarasion is usually quite gentle though it is still advisable not to use them too many times. I agree that facial products absorb better after exfoliating.

RYC:
Rowena! I was laughing at your hair rant! I was nodding and nodding throughout. High 5 man.

Ah, I've got so much to say about Bing Bing especially after I read about you saying one looks rather trashy and plastic. I supposed since my latest impression of Fan Bing Bing is from X-men, that sure look trashy and plastic though she was into that character. But I thought I was wrong and so went to google both Li and Fan and I still think they look alike! Lol... I wondered if I was the only one who couldn't tell the difference and one day my colleagues and I each used our phones. One googled image Fan Bing Bing and one googled imaged Li Bing Bing and we put both phones side by side and scrolled. Still, we thought both look alike and couldn't really tell the difference. Hahaha... Oh my, I do think being able to tell them apart is a great skill!
