I just wanted to wish everyone the happiest of holidays and thank you for the time you you've spent with me here throughout the year. Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, the holiday season is one that brings family and friends together. During this season of giving, let us take time to slow down, enjoy the simple things and the company of loved ones. I'll be off doing this so I'll see you back here in the new year.
We had an amazing time on our recent Curacao vacation but the change in weather and strong sun there really did a number on my skin. Upon our return, my face looked dull and tired and the sun totally aggravated the appearance of my freckles and gifted me with some unwanted sunspots. Fortunately I had this Exuviance Firm-NG6 Non-Acid Peel waiting for me to try when we got home and it was just what I needed. This product comes from the company that created the original Glycolic Acid Peel and it is formulated as a safe, acid-free formula that is gentle enough for all skin types. I've used a number of different glycolic acid peels before and they're great for cell renewal which improves the look of fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture while evening out discolorations.

So it's been awhile since my last recent loves post and I realized that I don't talk about hair products that much so I wanted to share a few that I have been using and really liking lately. My hairstyle has been some form of a bob or a-line bob for a number of years now. It suits me and my preference for low maintenance hair.
Next to beauty gifts, my favorite type of gift to receive would be tech gifts. They' can be practical and fun and this works out well since my husband really enjoys giving tech presents. <I mean who doesn't love gadgets that make life easier. And there are so many well designed options these days. Are you a fan of giving or receiving gifts of technology? 1. Ringly Smartphone Connected Ring Ringly takes notifications to the next level. I've heard some people say that it's often the guys in their lives that are the hardest to buy gifts for. I find it to be quite the contrary when it comes to those I have to shop for especially my husband. I always joke that he gets presents from me all year long since I'm responsible for choosing his entire wardrobe. This is actually a win-win for us since it means that he'll never wear anything I think is hideous and I happen to have pretty good taste. Well I'm quite sure it's better than most men and he often does gets a good number of compliments on the way he dresses. When it comes to holiday gifts, clothing, accessories or tech are usually a sure bet for most males. What do you tend to gift to the men in your lives? 1. J. Crew Factory Silk Dot Bowtie Cause bowties are so dapper! 2. Everlane Chunky Wool Beanie A hat should ideally be warm and look good too. 3. J. Crew Jacquard Lambswool Shawl Collar Sweater Sweaters always make great gifts and this one has really nice looking details. 4. Clarisonic Alpha Fit Sonic Cleansing System for Men My husband has become a Clarisonic fan since trying mine with his own brush head. If he is willing to use it regularly he should have his own. 5. Motorola Moto 360 Smart Watch It's cool how watches do more than tell time these days. 6. Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones A good pair of headphones are a necessity but they shouldn't cost a small fortune. 7. Uniqlo HeatTech Extra Warm T-Shirt We're big fans of HeatTeach underwear and this baseball style t-shirt can be worn on the outside. 8. Happy Socks Dotted Crew Socks Colorful socks are such an easy way for guys to add a little fun to their outfits. 9. Onitsuka Tiger Ultimate 81 Sneaker One of my husband's favorite sneakers. These have a modern low profile look while being effortlessly stylish. 10. Ray-Ban 61 mm Square Sunglasses Ray-Bans are so classic and reliable. 11. Mini USB Travel Humidifier My husband complains about his office being dry and this USB powered humidifier could be a practical solution.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might know that I was vacationing in Curaçao last week. It has always been a dream of mine to be basking in sunshine and warmth while it was cold and dreary in New York City. While it hasn't exactly been crazy cold, it was still really nice to get a taste of summer-like weather at this time of year. The above photo was taken from my favorite shady spot on the beach.
Curaçao is an island country in the Dutch Caribbean outside the Hurricane Belt. It is the "C" of the ABC Islands along with Aruba and Bonaire and was once part of the Netherlands Antilles. Curaçao is the home to over 35 beaches and a rich and diverse heritage of over 55 cultures. The official language is Papiamentu, a unique mix of African languages and Portuguese, Spanish, with some influences from Amerindian languages, English, and Dutch. The official currency is the Dutch Antilles Guilder (also known as Florin) but the U.S. Dollar is readily accepted. The current exchange rate is favorable to the dollar and we found that prices converted to just over a half with that.
If you follow me on Instagram, you might know that I've been enjoying the warmth and sunshine in Curacao this week but I also have some photos to share of the gorgeous and rather warm autumn we've been having in New York City like this one of Washington Square Park last week. I'm not going to overload you with a million pics here so to see more, check out my Instagram feed and of course you can also follow if you'd like.
It's probably been a little too long since Rena and Ian's last appearance here. Anyway they're back and Rena wanted to show off her new outfit. When I received a Barbie Fashionistas doll at the Oprah's Favorite Things preview, I just knew the dress she was wearing would look fantastic on Rena. Some of you have asked about where I get clothes for these two before and Barbie and Ken do fit them though some options are more suitable than others. Barbie wore this striped top and leopard skirt outfit with bare legs and stiletto heels but Rena is more modest and she wanted to go for more of an edgy feel so her look was styled with tights and punky boots. I think Rena looks more modern and chic and Ian agrees. What do you think?
