Current Mood

Spending... most of my time deep cleaning and redecorating in anticipation of Chinese New Year.  This Kate Spade Rug is just one of the new additions to our living room and perhaps my favorite! The vibrant colors and funky pattern really enliven the space. We also updated our artwork and gallery wall.

Reaccessed...  and reorganized all of my jewelry. I had way more than I realized so I threw some away, gave some away and put everything else in stackable trays which is great for both visibility and accessibility.

Watching... The Crown. We have zero interest in the royals but this series is quite fascinating. I think it has alot to do with some really strong acting performances and that much of the narrative is based in actual history. Claire Foy is outstanding and infuses QEII with a great deal of depth and complexity. It's a shame Matt Smith's Prince Philip is so one note in contrast. I'm so excited that Olivia Colman will be taking over as the queen in the next season. I've been asked me what I think about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and honestly I could care less but I'm glad she's leaving Suits because she's not a good actress.

Reading...  Power Plates: 100 Nutritionally Balanced, One-Dish Vegan Meals. Yes I'm kinda really into cookbooks at the moment. Review to come.

Eating... vegetable bowls with cauliflower rice thanks to a recipe from 100% Real. I might be a little obsessed.

Drinking... citron honey tea which is a staple in in our household during the winter because of it's many excellent health benefits. It has antibiotic properties, is a great source of Vitamin C and can help aid circulation and digestion among other things. Not to mention it’s one of the most soothing beverages you can drink when you have a sore throat or cough. Don't miss my tips on how to avoid getting sick!

Believing... in the healing power of acupuncture which has made a real difference in been helping to manage a few chronic conditions. Hit me up if you need a rec for a good doctor in NYC. Mine takes insurance too.

Trying... out the Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask and new Watermelon Pink Juice Moisturizer. TBH I might have been drawn in by the prettiness of both the product and the packaging. Review to come and probably a giveaway as well.

Wearing...  Uggs for the first time ever.  I ended up replacing two pairs of boots which recently wore out with Uggs. Yeah I can't believe it either because I can't abide by clunky footwear but the brand has come a long way.  The Kristen boots are actually quite sleek as well as being insanely warm and soft. The Simmens are actually quite similar in style to the pair they replaced but they're even warmer thanks to a shearling lining and they didn't even need to be broken in. I'm thinking of cutting off the buckle straps for a more streamlined look. Should I do it or just leave them alone?

Still looking...  forward to baseball season. Pitchers and catchers report in less than 10 days and Spring training games begin on the 23rd!

I've been thinking of watching The Crown, as I'm interested in that time period. Good to know that the acting is strong in this one.

I've been doing a lot of cleaning myself, not for New Year but because I tend to clean when I'm stressed. Being a spotless home makes me feel better (not that it is like that all the time, sometimes it can get a bit messy especially when I'm doing a lot of painting).

So exciting that the Chinese New Year is soon here! I don't celebrate it myself but I love to see how other people celebrate it. I just love celebrations and traditions and so on. I always enjoy reading about how people celebrate Chinese New Year. I also tend to wear more red during this time of year because it is supposed to be good luck.

That Glow Sleeping Mask sounds great!

Citron honey tea is something I should try. I need to remember to drink more tea. I'm a tea lover but some days I simply forget.

Have a fantastic week!!!!!!!

The Glow Recipe mask has been in my list to buy since last year so I really look forward to your review, Rowena. Many love it but I've read some reviews saying it does nothing special.

I need this Kate Spade Rug, it would add so much color to my space. I’m obsessed with cauliflower rice. I’ve been drinking Peach Tranquility tea lately and I love it. I’m going to look for your citron honey tea. I hope you have a great week Rowena.

I am not really into the royals or any drama surrounding them either, but I loved The Crown. Not because it gave me insight into their lives, but because of all its historical value.
