The Perfect Night In: 8 Hosting Tips You Need Now!

There is always something fun about a night out with friends, but when it comes down to it, the perfect night can be even better. Not having to be squashed into the clubs, waiting in the freezing cold to get into a club with people you don't want to rub shoulders with - it makes for a much better night when you can avoid that. Nurturing your friendships is so important, which is why you need to spend time with each other as much as you can. The best thing that you can do in the midst of your busy social lives is to schedule in at least one perfect night in once a month. You don't need to schedule your night so that you have to hit the restaurants and clubs at the right times, but you do get to spend time together anyway. With all that in mind, you need to be the best possible host for your night in, and when it's your turn, you want to get it right. With the eight tips below, you can have an ideally hosted night in with your friends.

Pick A Theme
A night in can be exciting! You get to gather everyone together and make sure that you have a night to remember, but for it to work, you need a theme. Pajama parties, lip-sync battles, craft nights, and wine tasting are all options, or you could even push the boat out and hire a cocktail bartender to mix you all up something fruity. Even if you don't go that far, why not have fun making your own cocktails together? You could have a simple night filled with movies and restaurant menus ready to order in and a movie on the TV - no matter what you pick, it can be a perfect night. The possibilities are endless for your big night in, so don't be discouraged by the choices.

Signature Drinks

Whether it be your favorite wine, a line of shots for party games or a magnificent cocktail that you make specifically for your guests and your party, you need to consider making your drinks ahead of time to take the stress out of hosting. Plan ahead, though, as you need to ensure you choose a cocktail that will suit everyone!

Share With All
You can have restaurant menus at the ready, but why not get everyone to bring a dish? You don't have to share the main meal, but if everyone brings a dessert with them, you'll have a whole table of desserts to pick from for your big night in. It's a good way for guests to feel like they're contributing to the evening ahead and it's also nice to have added food if no one wants what's on offer. You need to make sure everyone is fed, so include snack bowls and popcorn/nibbles around the room for everyone to share.

Bring A Camera
The perfect night in has to be documented, but it's time to put down the smartphone and bring out the polaroid camera. You can take group photos and send them home with everyone as unusual party favors, too, and it's an excellent way to have something to look back on and know that you have had a great time.

Girls Only
As hard as it is to get childcare, whoever is hosting needs to make plans for the kids along with the spouse for the night. Book them into a hotel if necessary; this evening is just for you and your girls to bond and have fun and bonding time needs no distractions that involve children and partners. You can make sure that the whole night is geared towards your girls, with throw pillows and blankets out, candles with your favorite scent and the perfect list of weepy movies to watch and sob to together.

Set A Play/Movie List
Know your audience when it comes to creating a playlist or movie list. If the crowd loves scary movies, get a list of the latest horrors on the movie menu. Have a playlist of favorite songs for the evening, too, because it's inevitable that at some point, everyone is going to get up and have a dance! Music is an integral part of the night, anyway, especially if you go for a posher theme and have a sit-down dinner party with background music to be enjoyed.

Party Games
You may decide just to have a movie night with no other plans. You may even decide a sleepover really is for sleeping. However, that doesn't mean that you don't need a backup plan for when the night moves on. Party games like this can be a great round-up of the evening, and you should consider what everyone likes when you are deciding what games to play. If games aren't your forte, what about pampering? You could hire someone to do massages in-house, and even bring in a nail technician for everyone to have their nails done. You don't have to leave the house for these things to be a part of your evening, and you can buy in some face masks and hair masks to make it a night to remember.

Sleeping Arrangements
A girls night in doesn't always mean a sleepover, but that doesn't mean you can't have one. Get everyone to bring their own sleeping bags and pillows, and all you need to do is make sure you have some air mattresses for everyone to get down on in the evening. Set up a nest in the living room by the TV so that you can all fall asleep where you've been sitting all night. A girls night in is not complete without someone dropping off to sleep early, so be prepared for that to happen.

As the host of a night in for the girls, you need to make sure that you have the best time as well as give the best social evening to remember!
