Beauty Product Review

This is where I share a few products that I have personally used and think are pretty fantastic.

Philip B Shampoo Review, Clarifying Shampoo

I'm not a big fan of washing my hair too often as I don't think it's good for it. I use a cleansing conditioner every other time so when I do shampoo, I prefer one that will remove buildup without stripping my hair and this shampoo does just that. It is formulated with sixteen pure plant extracts, eleven essential and carrier oils and an active dose of 2.3% pure peppermint oil. I've been using it once a week and it's always an a luxuriously invigorating experience for both my hair and scalp. I love that how this shampoo effectively clarifies while leaving my thick and slightly wavy hair clean, soft, shiny and manageable. The peppermint smell has aroma therapy benefits as well and I feel energized after using it. A 7.4 fl. oz./220 ml bottle is $28.

Laneige Review

I was so happy when Target started carrying some of the Laneige line because I can now easily access this product which I'd heard about for years. It contains natural Konjac beads and chestnut extract to exfoliate, sogurty, a specialized fermented yogurt to provide anti-inflammatory benefits and multiberry extracts that nourish the skin with antioxidants. If you've ever used any Asian peeling gels, this works this same way in that there are no actual granules in the product. You apply a thin layer after washing your face, massaging it in gently with circular movements. It will start beading up and then you rinse it off to reveal clean and polished skin. It's incredibly mild since it works on a cellular level which makes it suitable for dry and sensitive skin like mine. And I usually don't like scented products but I'm in love with the scent of this as it smells just like strawberry yogurt. I'm almost finished with my first tube and I've ordered a second one already. A 4 fl. oz./ 120 ml tube retails for $22.

Laneige Review

The Laneige Water Sleeping Mask gets all the attention but having tried both, I actually like the Yogurt Repairing Mask much more. It's suggested that for best results to use it after the Yogurt Peeling gel and I often do pair the two together but sometimes when my skin is irritated I use this alone. This mask is also formulated with sogurty and mulitberry extracts and it has the same delicious strawberry yogurt scent and a creamy texture. I love it because it feels really cool and indulgent while it's on. The directions suggest leaving it on for 5 - 10 minutes but I usually leave it on for 20 - 30 minutes depending on how my skin is feeling. It really does repair because my face always feels really hydrated and soothed afterwards and it works well to calm redness and inflammation. If I happen to have any skin issues, this is the mask I reach for. I haven't even finished with my first jar and I've ordered my second one already. A 2.7 fl. oz. /80 ml jar is $25.

Morning Rowena! I hate wash my hair too often as well and that shampoo sounds great, plus must be an amazing and fresh scent. But most of all, Im very curious about the peeling gel and the mask, both must be truly good for the skin, something I would enjoy a lot too, mask especially as you. Many kisses! xo

My aunt once brought me some Laneige products for my birthday. I don't remember what exactly but I did love one in particular. I've never really went out looking for them either. It wasn't something I remember seeing over here in the first place, though I felt like I'd seen stores in Hong Kong.

I must really try those Lineage products. They're available in a lot of Asian stores here, but they are pretty pricey...sigh....

Now these mask and peeling gel sounds great, will have to check them out. I am glad I don't need to wash my hair often, once sometimes twice a week. Happy hump day, Rowena.

Hi Rowena, each of these products you are currently loving sounds very nice! I'd love to try the shampoo. It's not a bargain for sure, but in your case when you don't wash your hair that often is ok. I do it every other day. The peeling gel must have the best aroma! Thank you for sharing with us, although I doubt these products are offered in my country. Have a nice day ahead! xo

Ohhh, how cool is it that you can get Laniege in Target?! I wish Target didn't close down. :-( A friend of mine swore by the sleeping mask, she suffers from acne and said it to be a life saver for her. I am currently using a similar exfoliant from THEFACESHOP and it's seriously brilliant! I really need to try more Asian beauty products.

Glad to hear that Target carries Laneige. I've been wanting to try some of their products, but I wanted to see it in person. I'll be adding this to my list.

The clarifying shampoo sounds great! I actually believe in spending a bit more in clarifying shampoo because it is hard to find something that works well yet doesn't strip moisture. I also make an effort not to wash my hair too often. I usually go by the 36hr rule and go on a little longer wearing it up sometimes. :)

That yogurt face mask sounds heavenly....and I would love to try that shampoo. I don't shampoo my hair very often either. Usually I shampoo my hair only once or twice a week and the rest of the time I just wash (if that can be called washing) my hair with water. Thanks for sharing:)

aaahhhh this sounds and looks super divine, Rowena.

I have used the basic skincare kit from Laneige many years back and I quite liked their products, very soothing and relaxing, though effectiveness wise, not too obvious, but the experience was lovely. I tried some samples of their peeling mask and yogurt ones too, they smell delicious on the face *_^

Hope you are having a beautiful week so far and look forward to the weekend soon!
Has the heat wave subsided in NYC by now since it is inching into fall already, I believe?

Big hugs,
Jeann
