So it's been about two months since the
last time I added some items to my wardrobe. I've really cut back on my clothing shopping since a major closet cleanout last year. Now I make a conscious effort to only buy quality pieces and styles that I can still wear years from now. With the change in season, I purchased a few items that would seem to reflect my love of dots. This Kensie ruffled tankini top was too cute to pass up especially on sale. The Staten Island Yankees cap was the giveaway of
the baseball game we attended during Star Wars night last Saturday. It's pretty cute for a freebie (the team name is in the Star Wars font and "Return of the Evil Empire" is written on the back) and I actually wore mine right away to cover my hair from the light rain that fell intermittently for an inning. The SI Yankees beat the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 2-0. Their single A affiliate is playing much better than my NY Yankees this season. I usually switch to a large tote bag during the summer since sunscreen, an umbrella and my water bottle are must haves for the season. This LeSportsac Le Chic Tote replaced my old $7 Gap tote which was on it's last legs. I bought these
Clarks slip-on sneakers as a backup to the
Sperry Top Siders which I've pretty much worn to death. I like them so much I'm also thinking about getting a pair
in blush pink.

I love the polka dots in these items, Rowena. I haven't bought a new piece of clothing in months, and I do believe that conscious shopping is something we should all try to adapt.

I really like you new additions to your closet, Rowena! The top is so cute, I wouldn't have missed to buy it too. The bag is also very nice and it looks so versatile, that it can be worn with anything. My favourites are the slip-on sneakers. They are perfect, just my type of shoes. I think it's always the best idea to acquire quality pieces to last over time. My favourite item here are the Clarks shoes. :) I've not bought much clothing this season actually, just a few accessories and mostly furniture pieces since we are about to renovate.
I really like your new additions, Rowena and I should really follow your lead in purchasing only quality pieces that I could use for a long time. The slip-on sneakers is so cute, I have a similar pair in red from Cole Haan and been wearing it non stop. It was one of my best investments.

You made lovely choices! I do like these additions to your closet. A big tote is must for a Summer. I finally found my ideal sunscreen both for body and face, I didn't remember the names, they're both Italian brands, but I make sure to use them. Carrying sunscreen is a bag is a great idea...and a must during those very hot days.
Speaking of which, I didn't know there were so many tourists in NYC during the Summer...somehow I assumed they would pick some other season, considering that in Summer it must be really hot there. Well, nowadays every place is air conditioned so it is not a big thing either way. In Split there are loads of tourists in the Summer, but they stick to city centre, so I don't have that feeling of city being crowded, on the contrary it feels empty.
That top with polka dots is really amazing and I really love that baseball cap! They are a great item for Summer because they provide enough shade for our face. I bought a white one and I wore it today for the first time.
What can I say about those sneakers? They are so adorable!!!!!!!!!

I had to buy a new swim suit for the summer. I kind of grew out of my other suits. Not good.

Those slip on sneakers are from Clarks? Nice! Those are dope I may have to check them out. I have made some mishaps this year myself. Last fall I bought a skirt online a saw on a coworker on it was a black laser cut skirt. On her it came to a little above the knee. Well she is about 5'5" and I think wears about 6. Well with me being 3 inches taller and 2 sizes smaller I look like I am about to go play a round of tennis. Never even work and not sure it will look good with trousers but may do that sheesh.

Rowena, I've paired down my closet SO MUCH. It started when I first started blogging. I had doubles of everything and stuff I didn't need. It's gone down a lot. Now I just want (goal) a capsule wardrobe. I'm a huge fan of polka dots, so that tank and bag are right up my alley. Plus you know I'm a Star Wars fan, so that hat is awesome. Great things Rowena!
