So this isn't my first go around with the J. One brand as I am a fan of the J.One Jelly Pack (review here) a multitasker that works as a hydrating mask and primer to keep your makeup looking fresh and and your skin dewy for hours. The J. One Hana Cream is a K-beauty collagen-boosting, anti-aging cream is conveniently packed into single application capsules.

The Product
Before ever hitting the shelves at Sephora,  J.One Hana Cream was a bestseller back in Korea.  Meaning "one" in Korean a "hana" capsule a day is meant to keep those wrinkles and lines away.  This nourishing cream comes in perfectly portioned, single application spherical capsules that melt into skin upon contact. Each capsule is packed with  high concentrations of potent anti-aging, collagen-boosting peptides and proteins to firm, lift, and moisturize skin. In clinical trials, 71 – 76% of testers saw a significant decrease in wrinkles around the eye, nasolabial folds, glabella and neck area after just two weeks of application.

Key Ingredients/Benefits
Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid provide lasting hydration.
Fullerene is a super powered antioxidant that protects against free radical damage.

The Packaging
J. One Hana Cream is packaged in a heavyweight, translucent plastic jar with a screw off top. The jar feels luxe but it also rather large and bulky. Inside there is another lift off lid that keeps the product fresh. A small clear plastic spatula is included for hygienic dispensing. The product is contained in 40 gram capsules which are each perfectly portioned for a single application.

How To Use
This product should be used following cleansing, toning, and serum steps. Using the included spatula, scoop out one capsule and place it in the palm of your hand. Crush with a finger and warm up the product between the palms before gently pressing into the skin until absorbed.

My Experience
The size and shape of the J. One Hana Cream capsules remind me of the tapioca boba pearls typically found in bubble tea.  Bouncy and moist, once broken, it emulsifies easily into a thick cream with a slightly watery consistency. This product does have a fairly aggressive floral meets baby powder scent which I'm not crazy about and one I can see being really off putting to those are sensitive to fragrance. One capsule is enough for my entire face. The cream absorbs into the skin with a light dewy finish. While it doesn't feel greasy, it is quite emollient. Since I've pared down my routine to just to the Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum at night,  I've been using the J. One Hana Cream in the morning. It does provide all day moisture to my skin, wearing well under sun protection and makeup. I would say this product is more suitable for dry skin types. It gives my skin a smooth and plump appearance, otherwise I haven't really seen any other visible results while using this cream. While I  do like the convenience of the individual capsules and how they are more sanitary and decrease waste, that's really all that sets the J. One Hana Cream apart.  It's nice that it is formulated with skin friendly ingredients and it's a good enough face cream that gets the job done with hydration but other than that, for me there's nothing special or outstanding about it especially for the cost. If I didn't score my jar for 60% off, I wouldn't be too happy right now.  I'm better off with my Skin Food which is a fraction of the price and smells much better.

I've never seen a cream with the individual amount sin balls like that before, that's clever! it's a shame the results weren't impressive enough for you to continue using and repurchase it, but it looks fun to try :)

Hope that you had a great weekend :)

I haven't tried any J.One products yet, chingu. Thanks for the honest review as always:) I do like the idea of having them in individual balls like that, but it would've been better if the cream is super great. I guess you can't win them all:D
PS Confession: I still get confused with the two Korean number system. Il or hana...hahaha

This sounds like an excellent cream if you have the money to spend as it is more sanitary and I think it also stays a bit fresher this way.

But if you on a budget then not so much. Will check out out Skin Food too!

I like the idea of a capsule style portions, and usually, only see capsules like this the supplement and essential oil world. This does sound interesting, but probably not for me. Thanks for sharing, Rowena. Have a wonderful new week! :)

I've always been intrigued by this product because of its unique capsule format, but after reading your review I think I'll pass. It does seem fun to use though, but I prefer to save my money on moisturizers and splurge on serums!

It's too bad the cream didn't meet your expectations, but I wonder if the individual capsules would keep the product fresh?

I was excited to see those small capsules that you can warm up in the palms, but I guess plain old cream or oil that brings more visible results would be so much better. Sorry to hear that you're not entirely happy with this one. You remember me complaining about the fragrances used in the Avene stuff. I don't mind fragrance in skincare generally speaking, but it has to be right otherwise it ruins the whole experience.

Too bad this antiwrinkle cream didn't do much for you, but at least you got it 60 percent off. The packaging does look nice, I like that it comes in capsule form and with a spatula but if the results aren't impressive better to.stick with product you know works for you.I don't like strong fragrances in any cream, so I would probably be put off by the floral meets baby product scent.

I just checked and it's not available through Sephora Canada! :-( I will research for another online site and check for price. I love the concept and it's very intriguing.

I like how the product is dispensed. It's unfortunate it doesn't work too well though!
