Son Jung Wan Fall Winter 2019

This is one of the fashion shows I would've attended this past NYFW had I not had to bow out for health reasons. Son Jung Wan's Fall/Winter 2019 collection was a luxurious mixture of faux fur, bold prints, sequins, velvet and embroideries. Known for her use of edgy fabrics, the designer worked various combinations of texture, pattern and bold color to create a playful yet romantic vibe with looks that combined retro charm with modern details. I've highlighted some of the looks that stood out to me.

South Korean designer Son Jung Wan who majored in Industrial Craft at Sookmyung Women's University also attended design school at International Mode in Seoul. She opened a small shop across the street from Galleria Department Store to showcase her own collection in 1989 and just a year later the Galleria offered her a shop within their store  In 1993, the designer was awarded the “Golden Needle Award” from the Korea Fashion Editor Association and in 2005, she was named “Designer of the Year” by Seoul Metropolitan.

My favorite (with the exception of the beautiful flowing dresses) must be the glen check suit.

Son Jung Wan has an eye for colour an glimmer; bold and playful patterns as well as classic styles are my favourite. That furry cape style piece sort of reminds me of the Compana brothers for some reason. :) I hope you're on the mend ... positive thoughts dear! Have a great week!

It sucks that you couldn't see this show in person. All of these looks are amazing. There are at least 5 pieces on here that I want to wear right now.

These designs are incredible! I just love that floral (hopefully faux) fur poncho and the blue sequin gown is just resplendent. I would love, love, love to have those in my wardrobe right now.
