Style Wise : J. Crew Spring 2013 RTW Collection

September 18, 2012

I am totally loving and coveting so many looks from the J. Crew Spring 2013 RTW collection. The line's mix of charming prints, punchy and pastel colors, embroidery and brocade make for some really wearable pieces in my book. And I'm such a fan of their eclectic pattern mixing and signature tomboy meets feminine chic styling. While it's fun to swoon over all the luxurious designer collections, I also like to see what might realistically be making it into my closet come next Spring. These are some of my favorite looks. The rest can be viewed here. What did you think of this collection?

  3. I love the brocade trend, and didn't think about how that trend could be carried over into spring and summer fashion. I usually associate it with only winter fashion and style. So this was very interesting. It's a beautiful collection and very different from what they've done in the past. I can't wait to see more of their shoes. Thanks for including the link to the entire collection, there's an awesome pair of jeans on there that I LOVE. Have a great week Rowena and thank you so much for your kind words! You're awesome!

  9. The collection looks perfect! I'd always admired J.Crew's use of bold patterns and how they made it look so understated at the same time (if that makes sense?). Love love love the second outfit! :D

  10. I both like it and hate it but that's how I feel about J. Crew in general so it makes sense. I like the giant herringbone skirt but not the patterned pants with the giant lace stripe down the side. I don't love the two 80s looking sweaters {with the three giant swipes of other colors - that is in two photos}.

It's funny that I mix patterns in interiors all the time and love color but my clothes are on the subdued side and I feel awkward when I mix patterns. Like people might think I just couldn't get it together. :)

  12. Me too! Just mail ordered a skirt and blouse for work and it's perfect. Over the years this company has really change (for the better!) offering a wide selection.. various price points for quality clothing.

  14. There was either a skirt or pants very similar to the first apricot/peach pair at H&M in your post! My favorite is the green floral pants and the handbags look amazing!

You should have gotten the burgandy patterned pants! What I am now discovering is that patterned items with burgandy is easier to work with vs. a solid burgandy piece.

  16. Some of these pieces are unsual for Winter but in a refreshing way. I always associate winter with dark colored clothings so these vibrant colors are such sweet treats. I am drooling over their bags too..must continue to stalk their site until i spot the word sale. Have a great week Rowena..hope you have been feeling great.

I'm in Starbucks as I write this and as I pulled into the parking lot I noticed more color beginning in the trees ... there's a little more each day like magic unfolding! Hope you have a wonderful weekend filled with treats galore! ~xoSandy

  22. I wouldn't have guessed if you didn't mention these are from JCrew. The aesthetics are a little different this collection. A lot more trendy but just as fascinating. I can't wait until they open their first store here next year!

to be honest with you, i am not a big fan of j.crew. these pretty patterns and colors are good enough to draw my attention to their spring collection for sure, though.
(to think that it's only autumn. i'd never catch up with this fashion world. lol)
