Everyday Makeup

Everyday Makeup Routine, Clean Beauty, Clean Beauty Routine, Clean Makeup

My everyday makeup routine has gone through a number of changes as I've edited down my makeup products and my overall beauty routine has evolved. I spend a fair amount of time on skincare especially since integrating a few devices and while that doesn't feel like a chore to me, putting on makeup does. It's just not something I want to spend a lot of time on and I just feel like a full face of makeup can look very aging. That said, I do want to have a polished yet fresh appearance when I go out but I don't want to look like I'm heavily made up. My husband favors this type of makeup look as well.  So this is my current streamlined makeup routine which takes under 10 minutes. I will do a little more if I have a meeting or a job.  All products purchased by me!

Thank You Farmer Sun Project Shimmer Sun Essence SPF 30
Sun protection is always the first step in my routine after my skincare. This is a combination physical and chemical sunblock with broad spectrum SPF 30 PA++.  This sunscreen has a lovely weightless texture and feel that wears beautifully under makeup. Conditioning shea butter and niacinamide are included  and despite the name, there isn't really any shimmer but more of an illuminating effect without the dreaded white sunscreen cast. Thank You Farmer is a K-beauty brand that values purity with a farm-to-face philosophy.

CLE Cosmetics CCC Cream
Multi-tasking beauty products and makeup with skincare benefits are my BFFs. This K-beauty product combines the benefits of face cream, foundation, primer and SPF 45 sunscreen definitely fits the bill. Out of the tube, it is white in appearance and once blended it adapts perfectly to my skin.  Micro capsule technology provides light/medium coverage and hydration with a lightweight, dewy finish devoid of any oxidation. I wear Medium Light out of the 5 shades this is available in.

Glossier Boy Brow
I'm all about quick and easy when it comes to my brows and Boy Brow makes that possible. It has a tiny brush that lifts and fills in my brows. The tiny fibers of the gel makes them look natural and defined without feeling sticky or crunchy. It wears through the day without any flaking. The only thing that would make this product is if the tube were bigger.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner
Tightlining is my preferred method of using eyeliner. It's a subtle way to define my eyes while also  making my eyelashes appear thicker and fuller. I was a cake liner devotee for a number of years but lately liquid liner is more expedient. This eye liner became an instant favorite the first time I used it. It has a stiff, slim tip that allows me to get a clean, precise solid black line without any skipping. And once it goes on, it stays put without smearing or smudging. That's pretty much all I look for in an eyeliner.

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara
I switch between mascaras pretty often and this is the one I'm reaching for the most out of my current rotation. This mascara has a long lasting conditioning formula that curls and separates while adding length and volume. The angled brush with staggered bristles reaches virtually all of my lashes. I can apply multiple layers without clumping or that crunchy feeling. And even though it isn't waterproof, I haven't experienced much in the way of flaking or smudging.

Wander Beauty On-the-Glow Blush & Illuminator in Bare/Nude Glow
This is another multi-tasker that combines a highlighter and a blush. The blush gives me a buildable, radiant yet natural flush of color while the illuminator provides a subtle glow without being too shiny. The blush pulls double duty as a lip color thanks to a hydrating formula. I also like to use the highlighter as an eyeshadow,  a trick I picked up from a makeup artist last summer that I've been swearing by every since. I love the versatility of this product!

Smith & Cult The Tainted Lip Stain in Kissing Tiny Flowers
I have full lips which get enough attention without me drawing attention to them so when it comes to lip color, I'm looking to tone them down. I generally prefer nude or LBB shades. This intensely pigmented lip stain has a creamy texture. The shade is a neutral toned dusty rose shade and it's long lasting color means I don't have to keep reapplying. I'm not big on touch ups either.

Morning Rowena! I agree with you, Im spending more time on skincare and actually invest more money in beauty products for skin. But I do always enjoy makeup though is getting lighter than some years ago. Now, your everyday makeup is just very chic, I'm intrigued by that blush/illuminator, so cool and versatile! Have a good week dear! xo

Oooo...must really try that Eyeko liner! I love the sound of your routine, Rowena. I agree that for everyday, minimal is really the way to go. Lately...I've been really giving my skin a break. No makeup sometimes, and my skin I think likes it that way....although I can't really do that often coz I don't wanna scare the neighbourhood kids:P

I'm intrigued by the thank you farmer sun essence and Cle cosmetics CCC cream. Are they K beauty products? I'm always looking for more versatile sunscreens!

I also prefer a natural looking, almost minimal, kind of make up routine. I don't mind seeing when others go all the way, but personally I've never felt comfortable with a lot of make up on my face. I prefer to keep it simple. It was lovely reading about your make up routine..and I haven't know about most of these products, I've never heard about that mascara, for example, and it seems really nice. Happy Monday!

I love makeup. I love using colours and natural shades. All of it is fun. Skin care is the most important as the makeup wont look well if your skin isn't well. x

A full face of makeup does look aging. But I do love it regardless haha. I love that you take time for skin care though, thats way more important. Have a great week Rowena.

Great photos! I feel the same way, my younger friends have makeup that makes them look way older than me while my makeup looks like I'm still younger but I also started to follow some Kbeauty makeup trends since I do not feel comfortable in European or American makeup trends - it's too much for me and my eyes aren't big enough to allow me using cut crease makeup.

I like a good streamlined, everyday makeup look as well. I tend to go with an spf moisturizer, lightweight foundation, eyebrow pencil and a light colored lip gloss.

I don’t wear make up so I’m all about skin care, but that doesn’t mean I don’t love reading about makeup or watching those cool makeup tutorials. Nope I’m still a huge fan of those lol. I love the Lip Stain from Kissing Tiny Flowers. That’s a great name for a makeup line. Have a great week my friend.

Polished but fresh, that is the perfect description we should all aim for this. There are so many over done faces out there. Not my cup of tea. I don't mind a full face of makeup but just done well and for special events. I so want to try Boy Brow!

I think I am in between. The days without a liner are rare, which makes the whole makeup look more done up, but on the other hand I never do a contour or highlight. It has to be quick, too, 15 minutes at max.

My makeup routine differs from days I am working and when I am not or when I am doing a school run. I have yet to try anything from Wander Beauty but the mascara sounds really good!

Since I am quite a little impatient when it comes to makeup the older that I get, I cannot be bothered when it’s too fussy. I really like an easy minimal look, and healthy skin to me is definitely important. Red or a bold lipstick and mascara is my only must have & essentials, and occasionally a light foundation, even though I do actually love makeup. I’d like to try the Wander Beauty mascara!

I used to go all out with my makeup, but lately I've been downsizing my makeup routine as well, though it's nowhere near as streamlined as yours yet 😅 The Glossier Boy Brow is a staple for me as well, it gives me full + natural brows in a pinch!

I definitely want to try the Wander brand Rowena! I love their minimalist approach. I think you will also love Nudestix. I purchased some more products from them and will let you know. They have the same ethics. I just purchased some Smith & Cult so I can't wait to try the brand.

I've been looking at a new CC cream for everyday. I currently use NARS but want something a little lighter. There's so much out there. I have no idea where to begin. I tried a sample of Hourglass illusion skin tint but it feels so heavy to put on. And I don't know if I liked the appearance on me. I felt like it aged me significantly.
