Through My Lens : Disney World

Here are some photos from our recent Disney World vacation. We first visited there on our honeymoon and thought it would be nice to revisit for our 10 year anniversary. It's one of those places where you can just relax, have fun and feel like a kid again. We got incredibly lucky with the weather. Even though it was rather hot we didn't get hit with any rain. The Magic Kingdom was decorated with a festive fall theme. Highlights included colorful parades and various character meetups including Winnie the Pooh and Tigger who we also got to dance with. Hubby bought me pink sequin Minnie Ears which I wore on our park visits. They're quite fab. The "It's a Small World" ride still makes me smile. We enjoyed the night time fireworks display and the artistic candy creations of Miyuki among other things at Epcot. It was awesome to find Babycakes, one of my NYC faves in Downtown Disney. We also attended Cirque du Soleil La Nouba which was excellent.

I haven't been to Disney World in forever! It really IS the most magical place on Earth, although I was much younger when I came to that conclusion. I'd love to go back and experience it again.

Rowena: by just looking at your photos, i am ready to go back. Glad to hear you had a wonderful time in a Happy Land. I still think it is more of a place for adults (with kids' hearts) like us. I would love to take my little one there when she is old enough and ready for a fun filled day. One big minus for me though, everything is so darn expensive there.

Rowena, these photos are BREATHTAKING! Omg'd I want to go! HAHAHAHA You know, I've never visited Disney World this time of year. I've always wanted to go in the Fall or Winter. The decorations are so fabulous. I think I would get a job there, because I would NEVER want to leave that magical place. Your photos just made me so happy! I can't even talk about the foodie pics. They look so SCRUMPTIOUS! hahaha You look so cute with your pink ears. Love your sundress. THANK YOU for sharing these! They really are a treasure. Glad you and your hubby had a great time doll. I love that you got pink sequin ears and wore them the whole time! My brother worked there about 10 years ago in college and when my sister and I went down to visit he filled us in on the "seedy underside" of Disney {it's not really seedy but he told us secrets}.

Happy Anniversary!

Loved your photos, Rowena, like taking a little "mini" vacation. I love days spent at Disney and also Universal Studios ... always so much fun! Loved reading the things that inspire you in your comment ... I agree with you, there's nothing like the energy of NY to inspire, more than any other place, when I'm in NY I come back with SO MUCH creative energy. I've even thought of having the background sound of the city to play in my studio and a lifesize mural on one wall, as if I'm looking out of the window at the rooftops and taxis below ... may STILL do that sometime!!! Thanks for your compliments on the illustration in Sparkle and on Cara's site, Rowena. I would have loved to have created the illustration in color for her book, but she was limited this time to black and white there ... but maybe next time! Have a wonderful upcoming weekend! xoSandy
