Through My Lens : Recently

I just realized that it's been awhile since I've done one of these so here are some glimpses at life as seen through my camera.
After I reviewed Your Bijoux Box, I discovered an affection for statement necklaces. These are from BaubleBar and Groopdealz.
RMS Living Luminizer and Lip2Cheek in Illusive have been my key to radiance and  healthy looking color this winter.
I love both and will talk about them in my next Recent Loves post.
Having a January birthday means getting your gift from Sephora early in the year.
I haven't tried these yet but the lipstick (Rouge Artist in N9) looks lovely.
My favorite coconut water turned pink! The color change is due to high antioxidant levels and it's pretty too!
Prosperity cakes (fat gao) made by my grandmother for the Lunar New Year.
They have a spongy chewy texture and are made from rice flour, yeast and sugar and steamed to cook.
I've been slightly obsessed with these savory mini cheese donuts ever since we tried them last month. Now we can't make a trip to Koreatown without picking up a few from Paris Baguette. Savory beats sweet for me any day of the week.
My favorite lunch lately is a take on this Wilted Kale and Roasted Potato Salad recipe.
It's really satisfying and the dijon dressing is so flavorful. It's even better with purple potatoes when I can find them.
I add some black beans if I want protein and sometimes I grate a little parmesan onto the potatoes.
Little Fat Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in Flushing. There's nothing better than a hot pot meal during the winter.
You order your choice of proteins, veggies and carbs which you cook in the boiling broth and eat with a variety of dipping sauces.
We always get the dual broth but Hubster likes the spicy side a little more than I do.
Pork Neck BBQ at our favorite Miss Korea Barbecue. They have the best lunch specials!
I slipped on the ice the other week and re-injured my ankle. The doctor said it's still vulnerable since I had such a bad tendon tear previously. So I'm in rigid air cast brace for the next couple of weeks. Good news is it actually fits into a few pairs of my boots. The bad is that it makes me walk like Frankenstein. I'm so over this winter and all the snow. I have a serious love/hate relationship with the snow. It's beautiful to photograph but definitely doesn't mix well with a unstable ankle.

Great post, but I'm sorry about your ankle. This winter has been treacherous; I know some people who are in casts because of the icy sidewalks, too. Get better and stay safe out there.

Rowena, I LOVE both of your statement necklaces! They're so pretty. I love the colors in them. Sephora has awesome birthday surprises each year. That lipstick is pretty. I've never tried anything from Makeup Forever. Coconut water is so good. I need to drink more of it. HAHAHA I love that yours is pink. Yummy dishes! That food looks so good. So sorry you injured your ankle doll. How frustrating! All you can do is wait it out and follow his orders. Hope it heals quickly for you.

Kale is also my favorite lunchtime veggie at the moment. I don't know why, but there's something so addicting about it and I love how there's a ton of nutrients in each serving! :)

By the way I'm so sorry you hurt your ankle again, we only had snow two times this year and by the second time I never wanted to see it again! Hopefully it heals really fast :)
