Recent Loves

Somehow my recent loves posts have become thematic so this one can be considered the eye makeup edition. Either way, these are actual products I've been using that I really like and want to share with you all.

Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir Clinical Dark Circle Correcting Concealer

Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir Clinical Dark Circle Correcting Concealer
I use concealer primarily on my dark circles so I was instantly intrigued when I read about this concealer that is specially formulated to both cover and treat dark circles at the same time. The concealer itself has a smooth silky texture that's lovely to work with and a botanical based formula that hydrates and also combats puffiness and inflammation. It provides great long wearing coverage that doesn't cake or dry out. And you need very little. I love multitasking products especially when they combine cosmetics and skincare and this really works to cover and reduce the appearance of my undereye circles. It's also free of free of fragrance, parabens, alcohol, and phthalates. This concealer is $26 and is available exclusively from Onomie. I have to mention that it comes in ten shades and Onomie has an awesome Try At Home program. For $4 you can order a Shade Starter Kit in the shade closest to your skintone and they'll also send you the next lighter and darker shades to try out. This was super helpful because the lighter shade that was sent to me ended up being a better match for my skin and the sample lasted for almost two weeks. If you end up purchasing the full size product, the cost of the sample kit will be credited towards the price.

Benefit They're Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara

Benefit They're Real! Lengthening & Volumizing Mascara
This is a mascara that has been around and I had gone through several samples of this mascara and always liked it. This mascara promises to reveal lashes that you never had and I think it does a good job of delivering both length and volume. I find most mascaras usually tend to excel in only one of those. And it holds a curl without clumping or smudging. This does have a rather large brush with a domed tip that can be a little unwieldy but after getting past the slight learning curve and mastering how to use it properly, I really appreciate the eye opening effects of this mascara and how it can coat even my tiniest lashes. The only thing I'm not crazy about is that it's fairly difficult to remove and I always have to use a separate waterproof eye makeup remover to make sure I get it off completely. The full size mascara retails for $24. They also sell a deluxe sample size that sells for half the price which you can get a good three months of use from.

Physician's Formula Eyeliner

Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum
I purchased this eyeliner on a whim because it was 40% off and I needed to add an item to my cart to qualify for free shipping. It took me awhile to try it because I'm really married to my Chanel cake liner but I wasn't disappointed when I did. It has a nice fine point tip that glides easily without skipping or smearing. I like how this eyeliner allows me to trace my lash line precisely but it also can be used for thicker lines and is perfect for creating that winged flick if that's your thing. While it doesn't flake or smudge, I've noticed that it will wear off if you prefer really thin lines but this was easy to remedy by applying a touch of powder over my liner and makes it last all day. The lash serum is a bonus, but to be honest I don't think it's had much of an effect on my lashes. I love this as an eyeliner and the pen form is sleek and great for travel. You can find it at any drugstore that carries the Physician's Formula brand. I've seen it priced from the $8 - $10 range which is certainly affordable. This product is hypoallergenic and paraben and cruelty-free. Speaking of lashes, the effects of the Revivlash Lash & Brow Stimulating Serum are kicking in and my lashes are looking fuller and a little longer.

Have you tried any of these? What eye makeup products are you loving lately?

Onomie's Dark Circle Corrector sounds very interesting, I've been using one by The Body Shop lately and it's doing a pretty good job... though that's not to say I don't need to get more sleep! haha :)

I don't know if it is a trend, but I've noticed that good mascaras are really hard to remove. Regarding the eye liner - I also apply powder when using an eye-liner as a "locker". My recent eye makeup love, hmm, it is a L'oreal mascara. I am not really into using a lot of make-up, but mascara is a must. Glad to see you are happy with these products, Rowena! xo

I need that Onomie concealer for my dark circles Rowena! I'm just now starting to get darkness under the eyes and this sounds dreamy. I still have a couple of Benefit products I haven't reviewed. I forgot I sent you this. I was Bittersweet on that mascara for pretty much the same reasons. I've just tried my first Chanel eyeliner and it is dreamy! So I know what you mean. The Physician's Formula sounds wonderful. I'm just like you! I'm always so many dollars away from getting Free Shipping or such. So I do that to! Glad it worked for you. I'll definitely keep it in mind.

I have not used that one from Physicians Formula, so that sounds interesting to me. Although, I was well rested over the weekend, I could use that Onomie today. :) I have that Benefit Mascara and like it a lot, I also have their Roller Lash, have you tried that one? I use a dab of coconut oil to remove, and it works better for me to get it off. Thanks for sharing.

I love the Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum! I've gone through three already, and I'll probably repurchase it again when I'm finished using other eyeliners that have been kicking around in my collection.

Benefit's They're Real Mascara didn't win me over unfortunately. They made my lashes look floppy and clumpy. :( I do love the sound of the Onomie Bright Concealing Elixir though. I have puffy, dark circles that could use the extra TLC.

I haven't tried any physician's formula products but this looks pretty intriguing!
I didn't love They're real but have a sample and want to give it another chance now. Sometimes products surprise you the second time around right?

I love the system that Onomie has! It seems like they really thought of their customers and figured out a way to beat it! Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to keep them in mind when I'm done my current concealer.
