Through My Lens : Recently On Instagram

Double Cleansing, Skincare

I can't believe it's March already. Like how quickly did February fly by! It definitely felt like winter for a good part of last month with some teases of spring. I decided to hibernate and forgo the NYFW events I was invited to just because I didn't want to be out in the extreme cold. These are just a few highlights from last month. I'm doing more quick reviews now. To see more, click over to my Instagram feed and if you like what you see, please follow along

I swear by double cleansing and this Recipe Rose Petal Cleansing Oil and Cremorlab Gentle Foaming Cleanser are part of my current routine. They're really pretty to look at as well. Check out my mini review of these products and I wrote this primer on double cleansing if you've never tried it before.

And Other Stories Cire Red Blush
The loveliest blush packaging I've seen in awhile complete with a Shakespeare quote. I got this on a whim at & Other Stories when I saw it on sale recently and it was $4 well spent. Read my review to see what I thought of it.
Boba Guys Milk Tea, Boba Guys New York
So happy that Boba Guys opened up a shop in NYC. Their fresh brewed tea and premium ingredients are a real game changer and if they were closer to us I'd probably be there every weekend. We tried the Classic Milk Tea with almond jelly and a Matcha Latte on our first visit.
Salmon Sushi, Boxed Pressed Sushi
I want to have sushi all the time lately and oshizushi boxed pressed salmon sushi is an absolute fave!
 bahn mi sandwich
This bahn mi tasted as delicious as it looked!
Sweetgreen, Bento Bowl
I'm stilled obsessed with Sweetgreen's Bento Bowl. I tried recreating it at home but it's not quite the same. I'll have to figure it out since this is seasonal and will be gone soon.
Soho NYC, New York City
Strolling through Soho...
Chinese New Year Lion Dance, Chinatown NYC, New York City
We ran into some festive Lion Dancers on the way home from the temple on Chinese New Year.
Chinatown NYC, New York City
Walking in the rain in NYC. I usually avoid being out in the rain if I can.
Manhattan Bridge NYC, New York City
Snow always appears much dreamier in photos than it is in real life.

Bahahaha! Yes snow really is much dreamier in photos. I first encountered in on my recent travels and boy is it slippery! It definitely got the better of me, and yet I'd still love to see it again hehehe! I feel like snow in NYC would be so much calmer and "nicer" than that I experienced in Arizona

Absolutely love the blush with a quote - clever, beautiful and very-very sweet! Also hope you'll figure out the recipe (and share with us, too). I tend to do the same if I love certain meals and flavours, but sometimes they really are challenging to get them spot on. x

Why don't I ever see any gorgeous blushers like that ever? I would have bought it too just for the quote itself and the shade looks absolutely lovely too. And gosh, I swear you have one of the best #FOODPORN feed, Rowena, makes me so hungry this early in the morning!

That was definitely spending your money wisely with the blusher, and it's so adorable too! I think double cleansing is the only way to go, in my opinion. Lovely photos Rowena. :)

Oh, Rowena, your food photos always make me hungry! That sushi, the tea, the bowl, I want everything. Yes, snow isn't always that dreamy as it is in fairy tales. It's often gloomy here too, so whenever it is sunny and bright outside I try to take as many photos as I can. :)

Haha, snow in real life would be super cold and being freezing is just not everyone's favorite I guess? Btw, this Re:cipe is definitely an interesting brand, its natural ingredients and how they package the products make me want to try them immediately. I mean, look at those real rose petals! :P

That blush is fabulous...such a great packaging. That tea place looks great, I don't think I ever tried tea with almond milk but you just gave me an idea. I don't like milk, but I drink almond milk.

That sandwich does look yummy!

Snow does look more dreamy in photos, doesn't it? It hasn't snowed here this year, but the mountains are covered with snow so I can see it when I want to...and I could get to it...if I wanted:) Nice to admire it from afar:)

yes, I fell in love with that first visual on your IG and was so intrigued by the cleansing old and foam. Like you, Rowena, I also believe in double cleansing and have been doing so for about close to a year now, but recently my visit to Sephora, the promoter told me otherwise. she said it is too much for my combination skin, overload with too clean a face already by me doing so.

She got me to buy one 3-in-1 cleanser by Philosophy, and I have just started this regime instead of the double cleansing. So, I am trying this out and see how it goes. It does not feel as clean as before though.

I am been enjoying your IG feed and look forward to seeing more. Yeah, perhaps it was quite a good idea to just skip that and stay home warm, knowing that you don't really like snow anyways *_^

Have a great weekend ahead, Rowena!

With love,
Jeann

I always hear so many great things about double cleansing, but I've never tried it myself! I'd love to give it a go though, so I'll check out your recommendation!
