Listening... to FT Island's Where's The Truth? Take Me Now is such a good song!

Reading... Spark Joy: An Illustrated Master Class on the Art of Organizing and Tidying Up. I really enjoyed Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing and employed her KonMari method in decluttering and organizing. Spark Joy takes it a step further in encouraging you to only surround yourself with whatever "sparks joy". Since I've already done this with physical items, I've taken it digital by cleaning up my Facebook and Twitter. Unfollow and mute are genius since some people freak out if you unfriend them or unfollow them. I'm sorry but incessant selfies, self-created drama for attention and endless self promotion do not spark joy for me. If you post a photo of feet or pigeons, that's an instant unfollow because that just sparks disgust.

Watching... the Korean remake of The Good Wife. I didn't really follow the America series and just caught episodes here and there but friends who have seen both say it's a pretty faithful adaptation. Jeon Do Yeon is bringing it with a richly layered performance as the title character. They've apparently made the husband character way sketchier in the Korean version so I keep vacillating between whether she should trust him or not. Yoo Ji Tae is so good at being a charming villain. I hope they'll do more with the Diane character played by Kim Seo Hyung in future episodes. The actress has such gravitas and it's a shame she is totally being underused at this point. I've been asked by several people if I'm watching Uncontrollably Fond and the answer is no because I'm not a fan of melodramas and I have a low tolerance for subpar acting.

Wearing... dresses pretty much every day because it's too hot for anything else.

Shopping... the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. See what I bought already.

Looking forward to... Summer Restaurant Week. We skipped the Winter one because there weren't any restaurants we wanted to check out participating but that's not the case this time around and we have 3 reservations coming up. Especially excited about trying Hawaiian cuisine.

Getting together with... friends from college and having a blast catching up as if no time has passed.

Enjoying... my haircut. I seriously cannot stand hair on the back of my neck when it's hot and the way my stylist cut my A-line bob actually makes it look like a pixie cut when I tuck it behind my ears which my husband loves. I think he may have a thing for them.

Wishing... that peonies were still in season. I miss them

What's up with you?

Summertime is not in my favour simply because of the heat, so I essentially wear my hair up most of the time anyway. I actually recently read a good article about Kondo's "KonMarie Method" on Fast Company this week, and I agree. Still intrigued by the Korean adaptation of The Good Wife since the first time you mentioned it up, so this will be interesting to watch. Great sunglasses on you, and it's a great feeling when you like your new haircut. I'm about to set up for the big family party so I'm pretty much drained until the weekend. :) Take care, Rowena.

oooohhh Rowena, I think the books you mentioned here about decluttering sounds awesome. I totally understand what you mean by muting or unfollowing. I have no issues with that (doing it or being done to) and I feel we do need to re-organize certain things (or even people) in our lives once in a while, as our interest and priorities change as time goes by.

haha I am watching Uncontrollably Fond currently and am enjoying it just for the fun of it *_^

I guess if you love your new hair cut and hubby loves it the even more, that would be the most perfect scenario! I did not follow The Good Wife american version but it sounds like the Korean one is rather more interesting *_^

Looking forward to your eating out restaurant review coming up some time in the future!

Have a lovely week ahead, my dearest friend.

With love,

"...endless promotion does not spark joy for me." Hahaha...this just made me LOL so hard, Rowena:D I feel the same way. I've had the first KonMari book for awhile now, and have read a few chapters, but alas, I am the queen of procrastination. And LOLZ as well on Uncontrollably Fond. I read that Suzy was really bad in the first episode, but am such a sucker for this type of dramas:D I think I'll finish Signal, then watch it concurrently with W.
And I'm loving that cut, girl! So perfect for summer for sure:)

I love reading this, actually I love reading these little updates about what's latest in your life. I actually took note on what you said on my blog the other day, about the shameless self promotion and you're right. I have always left it to Buffer to tweet for me, don't have much time for Twitter but after thinking about what you said, I made sure that I log in and communicate a little. It's baby steps, I spend maybe 5-10 minutes to see what's going on and chat a little but it's progress. So thank you for giving me the nudge to be more active. xx

Ha! I was going to tell you I was watching Uncontrollably Fond and I knew you would hate it. I know how you feel about Suzy, and basically all the dramas I watch. :P

I actually read Mari Kondo's first book when it came out but didn't know about the second until a couple of weeks ago. I konmari'd my drawers a few months ago and it was the best thing I've done. I'm very slowly moving on to books. It feels really good to own only things that I really love or will use.

Peonies all year long would be amazing! I'd even take the ants that come along with them. :)

That first photograph took my breath away. I like peonies but they were never my favourites, yet your photograph made me see them in a new light. I always loved your peonies photography and found it to be exceptionally beautiful....still, this photograph caught me by surprise and it took me a minute to process how amazing it truly was. Such a magnificent work of art!

Thank you for book recommendation, I will look it up. I need some decluttering methods...and surrounding ourselves with joy sounds like something we should do. I think it is great you cleaned up your social platforms, some people really do create drama that we don't need...we all have a limited amount of energy and we shouldn't spend it on people who are black holes, you know the type, those that are always looking for more attention, more support, more likes and what not...sometimes we don't even realize how much energy some people take away from us, that is why it is good to make a little 'purge' now and then...nothing mean or offensive, sometimes not saying anything just choosing to ignore some kind of behaviour is the best thing to do.

Your new haircut looks lovely! I think shorter hair is always a good choice for Summer months...I went a bit shorter about a month and half ago and so far, so good:) but I still like long hair, so I won't do anything dramatic in the future, probably I'll just keep on this length.

I've been wearing mostly dresses (and shorts with loose tops) myself...I had to DIY my shorts because it has become impossible to find decent shorts in shops, everything available is way too short. When I was packing for my vacation, I decided to bring just two dresses, two pairs of shorts and tops and one skirt...I figured out it is better to bring books along...especially since I was without internet connection. I managed to do a lot of reading...and swimming (that helped with my back problem) so I think it was a good choice.

Have a lovely day sweetie!

Rowena, I think that there is nobody else than you who looks so well on a A-line bob ! Great to see more of you! I know that feeling with the drama queens and narcissism selfies every now and then. I am sick of them, that's why I do the same - unfollow or mute. It's been hot here too, and I also prefer wearing dresses in this weather. The restaurant week sounds very interesting. Looking forward to seeing your reviews after its end!

Rowena, that cut is BAD girl! It rocks and I absolutely love it on you! She did a great job! I want to get those two books! I believe in organization! It really keeps me focused and together. I can't function otherwise! LOL I know what you mean about unfriend/unfollow and people freaking out. Many get so personal and ugly about it! I need to write a blog post on the topic. HaHaHa Too many take it personally. I don't follow many now because of this.

Uncontrollably Fond is a sad melodrama?!?!? What?!?! I thought it was a rom-com from the commercials I've seen!!! Screw that! It's bad enough if the acting is sub-par. But if I have to cry so much about the story line too...nah... I am so writing all the shows you just mentioned.:D

PS I've been hanging out with one of the moms from school who watches Kdramas sometimes. She was recommending this show, and when we watched the first episode, it was Hotelier with SHK! She was so young then and looked so different I didn't even recognize her.
