Make 2019 The Year of Self Confidence!

Lee El, Lee El Esquire Korea

Self confidence is so important, when we feel good about ourselves we’re more likely to get out there and grab life by the horns. We say yes to new opportunities, and aren’t held back due to insecurities. If you’re making it your mission in 2019 to boost your confidence, here are just a few ways you can go about it!

Hit the gym
One of the best ways to gain body confidence and feel good in whatever you wear is to exercise. Regardless of what your current body shape or size it, going to the gym will help you to shed excess weight (if you need to) tone up your muscles and sculpt your physique. And not to mention it’s great for general health too. You’ll feel more energised, boost your immunity, increase your endurance and improve every cell in your body. But purely from a physical perspective, you’ll look great which will boost your confidence and self esteem. It’s easy to think you don’t need to go to the gym because you’re not overweight, but a few weeks of cardio and weights and you’ll be amazed at the changes in your body and just how much better all of your clothes fit.

Get your hair done
Hair is so important.  Have you ever noticed that a bad hair day pretty much means a bad day generally? Because our locks contribute so much to our appearance, if your  coif looks a mess than you’re pretty much guaranteed to as well, regardless of your outfit or anything else. Go to the hairdresser and treat yourself to a new ‘do, whether it’s a tidy up of what you already have or a complete change. Find quick and easy styles that suit you and work with your hair type and most importantly make you feel great. If your hair is curly for example, a quick scrunch through with some mousse in the morning will give you texture without battling with damaging heat from a flat iron. If yours is naturally straight, a very quick swipe with straightener just to tame flyaways will leave it looking sleek. Work with your hair type rather than against it, it will save you time and prevent damage.

Remove that ugly tattoo that you hate
Let’s face it, we’ve all made bad decisions at some point in our lives. Unfortunately, some of those bad decisions are more permanent than others! Maybe you experimented with Indian ink self drawn tattoos while you were still in school. Perhaps you went on a girls vacation and had some ink done for a laugh but it’s no longer funny. You might have just outgrown a tattoo that you once loved. Either way, visit a tattoo removal company and get rid of it for good. No more feeling embarrassed when people ask about it, or having to wear certain types of clothing to cover it up.

Experiment with a new makeup look
The best thing about makeup is that it can be easily removed. If you try a look and you don’t like it, you can simply wash it off and start again. One eyeshadow palette can help you create many different looks, along with some base products. Try out contouring and highlighting, have a go at smokey eye looks and test out some different false lashes, they’re inexpensive and can be found in multi-packs so you can play around with them. Invest in a couple of lipsticks, or a lip palette to mix your own shades. Have fun with it!
