Curent Mood

Personal update

Wow how is it December already?

Reading...
I really enjoyed Ruth Reichl's Garlic & Sapphires so I thought I would give her first crack at fiction writing a chance. This novel which follows the adventures of Billie who takes a job Delicious!, New York’s most iconic food magazine. She discovers a secret room that leads a cache of hidden letters and a puzzle to solve as well as lessons to be learned.  This is a charming book and I'm liking it so far.

Watching...
New World on Netflix transports a group of South Korean celebrities to a magical island for a reality competition where they try to earn virtual currency during their 6 day stay. At the end, the person with the most in-game currency gets to go home with their virtual earnings cashed out for real money. This show kind of feels like a video game with the way it is set up. Of course I'm watching because Lee Seung Gi is in it but it is quite fun and the interpersonal dramas within the competition are quite entertaining.

Also Watching...
This romantic melodrama set in the fashion world portrays a couple who are going through the process of a breakup in reverse. It shows the bittersweet reality while also emphasizing the happiness of their loving moments. It stars Song Hye Kyo as Ha Young Eun, a independent woman who leads a design team at a fashion company and Jang Ki Yong as Yoon Jae Kook, a talented fashion photographer who ardently pursues her following a one night stand. Our  last few K-dramas have been without any loveliness so this is the first melo we’ve watched in awhile. It has been an entertaining watch so far.

Making...
Dumplings
One or twice a year, we make a big batch (a few hundred - a portion for boiling and a portion for pan frying)) of dumplings) and freeze them. It's a little laborious but worth it since I can make sure the ingredients are of good quality and we have dumplings for months. My husband is actually better at wrapping them than I am.

Drinking...
This blend of organic chamomile, elderflower, lavender, licorice, limeflower and marigold is a fragrant delight.

Acquired...
Got this rug to replace the Chilewich tiles under our work desk so that the wheels from our Aeron chairs don't mess up our floors. It's so soft and the design is beautiful. I originally found it for over $100 so I  shopped around and found it for $62. Also used Rakuten so I was able to get 8% cash back as well.

Wearing...
My first pair of Birks! I've never really been into them because I think they're ugly and I still do maintain that a lot of styles are hideous. I was drawn to this pair because the cross strap styling and the metallic  rose gold leather have a streamlined appearance and they come in a narrow width. They are very lightweight and comfortable though I do wish they were more narrow since I have to wear them on the last hole. I plan on styling them with more tailored pieces. yeah I know it's too cold for them but I like to wear them on our terrace with wooly socks.

Loving...
It might sound odd to love a hot/cold compress but when you're a chronic pain sufferer like me, a good compress can bring much needed relief. Heatbag is an innovative solution with a natural inner clay core and  layered smart foam with an organic jersey fabric cover, It can be easily heated up in the microwave or cooled in the freezer. I like how comfortable it is to use as well as how it releases and retains heat or cold slowly and evenly. Plus it's nice looking.

Personal update: I got my COVID booster a few weeks ago and other than a sore arm, I didn't really have any side effects this time. I attribute this to being more physically fit than I was back in April. I'm glad I got it in light of this new Omicron variant that is going around now. My husband is getting his next week.

Oooh hello Rolala, I hope you're having a nice month so far! First of all thanks for your latest comment on my blog post :)

I just loved the whole mood of this selection, you had a really good eye to pick things linked to this cozy season! I need to check that new show on Netflix and the tea you recommended sounds divine! Also those garments to stay relaxed at home.

I just need to check the next vaccine boost to stay a little more protected too!

Have a nice weekend!

Yes, time flies. I can't believe it's already December. Delicious sounds like a lovely novel, perfect for food lovers. The Korean drama about reality celebrity shoes sounds interesting. The sandals you got look very comfy, wearing them with wool socks sound like a nice idea.
The ostrich pillow seems really easy to use and convenient. It is great that it can be heated up and cooled down quickly and effectively. I find hot presses helpful for chronic pain too.

Yay for getting your booster.
It's hasn't been six month since we got out second dose yet. So hopefully we will start the new year with a booster.
But the boys will get there second shots this week and it's the best feeling.
Those dumplings look so good.
