Reading...
This novel by Joseph Han takes place in the months leading up to the 2018 nuclear missile false alarm. It follows a Korean American family living in Hawaii as they deal with the fallout of their eldest son's attempt to run across the Demilitarized Zone into North Korea. This is a unique story with a complex narrative that is full of nuance. I'm liking it even though I find all the shifting perspectives a little hard to keep up with at times.

Watching...
This wildly popular drama was the top non-English show globally on Netflix when it aired and it is worth the hype. The titular Woo Young Woo is a young attorney who is a genius with autism spectrum disorder. It delivers a thought provoking look at ableism and unconscious bias against those with disabilities through her journey as a lawyer. I'm enjoying the heartwarming life lessons and commentary on common social issues and Park Eun Bin should be winning all sorts of awards for her masterful performance. My husband and I both agree that it could do without the love line but it's a nice one to watch.

Lisening to...
As a longtime fan I was excited about Jay’s first full-length album in six years and this does not disappoint. The tracks encompass his signature R&B style which he deftly combines with classical music, blues, rock, pop, and traditional Chinese elements. The gorgeous title track punctuated by flourishes of classical piano and violin is accompanied by an ambitious music video that features of the biggest names in art history. The jubilant Mojito with Latin inspired beats rolling into a smooth rap flow is probably my favorite and current most played. It's perfect for our afternoon dance breaks. Incidentally the last concert I attended was Jay Chou.

Eating...
This salad which reminds me of the Harvest Bowl from Sweetgreen is so hearty and full of flavor. I have modified the recipe, substituting goat cheese for feta and my version of creamy tahini dressing that doesn't use any maple syrup. Sometimes I add salmon or chicken for additional protein.

Drinking...
I love a good London Fog latte which is Earl Grey served with steamed milk. This blend evokes the same intoxicating aroma with hints of vanilla and lavender blended with bergamot. It also tastes and smells absolutely delicious without the addition of milk.

Cooking with...
I bought this to recreate Nobu's spinach salad which I'm obsessed with and it does the job. I also like using it to add more umami flavor to fish and noodle dishes.

Loving ...
This high-powered antioxidant serum with 15% pure vitamin C, 0.5% ferulic acid and vitamin E is  supposed to be an affordable dupe of the cult favorite Skinceuticals C E Ferulic Serum which I have tried and really like. I've been using this for two weeks and I find that it hydrates, brightens and smooths my skin nicely. This doesn't have the best smell but neither does the Skinceuticals product. It is way more affordable at $49 than $169. I will post a full review soon.

Graduating to...
I've been strength training since last year starting with 3 pound weights. I recently hit my goal of moving from 5 pound weights to 10 pound weights for my regular workouts. I was initially wary of weight training because I thought it would build bulk but it's been the opposite because muscles create a leaner appearance. I also love being physically stronger.

Oy my gosh! I've been reading so much about the Attorney Woo show! I added it to my to-watch list. Thanks for the review, chingu:) And yay for now using 10lb weights:) When I used to work out a lot, I actually preferred weight training than cardio, but alas, I haven't done it in a loooong time. Thanks for the reminder:)
