It's hard to believe that Lim Ji Yeon has never really played a villain prior to her portrayal of Park Yeon Jin in The Glory . Her performance as the leader of a group of bullies who Song Hye Kyo's Mong Dong Eun seeks revenge against for ruining her life in high school, is absolutely chilling. The actress channels her glamorous femme fatale side, exuding a sense of cool charisma and slaying the striking fashions by Dolce & Gabbana, Tom Ford, Sportmax, Yolancris and other designers in this pictorial for Vogue.
My love for The Glory is no secret. One of the real strengths of the gripping revenge drama is the entire cast who seamlessly embody their characters. Ji Yeon is no exception and she plays Yeon Jin unflinchingly as a unsympathetic sociopath. Her character is quite scary in how she bullies people because she can get away with it and how she thinks she has done nothing wrong. I really like that this drama isn't trying to give the bullies any type of redemption arc because what the violent acts they've perpetrated is irredeemable. The conclusion of the The Glory airs on Netflix on March 10.
