On Doing Your Own Thing

Doing Your Own Thing, Staying True To Yourself. Living your values

If the last 4 years have proven anything, it's that most people will just gladly give up critical thinking and blindly conform with peer pressure and societal expectation's without any regard for the bigger picture or their future just because it's convenient and easy and what everyone else is doing. While it can be difficult, lonely and tiring to do your own thing, it can also be rewarding if you can overcome judgement and pressure. Trust that living in a way that aligns with your moral values especially when you know in your heart that you're doing what's right is better for your conscience and mental health than lying to yourself. It will eventually pay off and probably even improve your quality of life down the line. There’s a certain freedom to not caring what others think.

What really worries me is how people seem to have given up on critical thinking. I feel like the modern times have made social and peer pressure so much worse. The virue signaling is getting crazy. It's like people can't think for themselves at all.

I agree with you as people and as a society we face challenges that sometimes surpass us, the world continues to change and adapting to those changes is sometimes difficult.

Well said. I think most people are too insecure to be themselves.
