Song Hye Kyo covers the March issue of Vogue Hong Kong and her knockout beauty is absolutely captivating. She models a range of classic meets vintage neutral outfits from Fendi with an effortlessly feminine vibe and her smoky eyes paired with peachy cheeks and lips makeup showcase exactly why the renowned actress was recently appointed as the first ever Asian global ambassador of the premium luxury beauty brand Guerlain. Her crowning glory, a fresh and modern short hairstyle that is sort of a bob meets pixie has apparently ignited a wave of ladies in South Korea running to hair salons asking for the same. The entire editorial is gorgeous but the close-up shots are especially breathtaking.
Hye Kyo's profile shot up due to the global popularity of the Netflix revenge thriller The Glory that was both critical and commercial hit. Her follow up as one of the title characters in the occult film Dark Nuns also made a successful box office run both domestically and overseas. Hye Kyo is now busy filming the forthcoming modern historical drama Slowly and Intensely, a project that reunites her with celebrated screen writer Noh Hee Kyung and marks her first time working with a talented cast that includes Gong Yoo, Lee Ha Nee and Cha Seung Won. It has been acquired by Netflix and is scheduled for release in 2026. Can't wait!
Hye Kyo reflects on her well established acting career as well as her life in the accompanying interview. When it comes to acting, she wants to continue challenging herself and would like to work on a mystery/thriller in the future. When asked about the best part of turning 43, Hye Kyo remarked with a laugh, "I became who I am today after going through my 20s and 30s. Since we all grow older together, I’m not afraid of aging. Of course, since my job relies on my appearance, I do take care of myself." She also shared how her perspective has evolved with age. "Now that I’m 43, I focus more on the present rather than the past or future. I want to do everything better, become wiser, and live with more clarity. I feel deeply grateful for each ordinary, peaceful day. That sense of gratitude is the best part of being 43."
The part of the interview that was most insightful and inspiring was how her view on strength has shifted over time. "But at some point I realized that I had never put myself first in life and I thought, “Let’s put me first no matter what.” I made up my mind. After that, I felt more centered in everything I do and in every situation I faced. Thinking about “myself” has brought me a sense of calm, and I’ve even found that I can approach others with being more relaxed. I suppose I could say that by embracing “myself,” I’ve become stronger on the inside."
I don't follow many celebrities but I have a soft spot for Hye Kyo because she starred in some of the most memorable K-dramas of my early viewing days like Autumn In My Heart and Full House and she is a real one. I've always found her to be admirable as an artist and also someone that I want to root for because she is genuinely down to earth and a good citizen of the world. Her mindful attitude, lack of ego and ongoing dedication to her craft and personal growth are surely factors in her enduring success. And she has totally inspired me to get my hair cut like this!

Great photos, like paintings.
I love the quotes you shared from her interview, showing us a bit of her thoughts. Honestly, she sounds like a wise person- beautiful inside and out.

She is 43! Wow. She looks really good. She even looks like she's in her youth.
Gosh! She is almost too beautiful....sigh.....like, she can pull off any look! SO JEALOUS:D I've said this before, but she is aging like fun wine. After seeing her at Full House to now, she looks the same except for maybe losing her "baby cheeks"!
I totally get why she's one of the few you follow, chingu! Great actress, great person...and of course not to mention her beauty.
PS Thank you soooo much for the heads up on Season 2 of Nine-Tailed Fox! I didn't know! My DD wants to watch the original one so I'll tell her to binge-watch it so we can watch Season 2 together:D I had to renew our Viki membership just for her. She's even seen some shows I haven't seen yet. LOLZ
PPS Mandarin pronunciation is seriously hard! AAAAAAH! My husband understands Cantonese but can't really speak it, so for now, I have to stick to Duolingo....sigh....that's really so awesome how you and your hubby are putting an effort to just speak it at home. I am kicking myself for not having learned it sooner....sigh....
Have a great week ahead:) XOXO
