4 Easy Ways To Improve Your Social Media Accounts

Whether you’re a budding influencer, a business, or you just like to be at the top of your game in every aspect of your life, there’s a lot of value in working to improve your social media accounts and presence. After all, whether we like it or not, people are making plenty of judgments about who we are and what we’re all about based on our Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram posts. Working to improve yours can result in brand partnerships (influencers), more customers (businesses), or simply a spike in popularity (or perhaps even a date!).

And happily, improving your social media accounts doesn’t require a ton of time and effort. In fact, you can normally get things moving in the right direction in as little as a week or so. Let’s check out how.

Clean Up Old Posts
You might have forgotten all of your earliest social media posts, but don’t discount the possibility that one of your followers will take a deep dive into history and see what you were posting way back when. In some cases, what they find might be kinda cool and actually help to make a positive impression. In reality? We all have some cringe skeletons in our closets. Take screenshots of those posts that embarrass you (you’ve gotta keep them!) and then remove them from your feed.

Upgrade Your Content
You can’t expect people (before your family/close friends) to pay attention to your social media account if it’s only serving up low-quality posts. In this day and age, it couldn’t be easier to upgrade your content — there are a million apps that offer fun features and settings that can boost the visual appeal of your posts. Throw in a considered, entertaining caption and you’ll be on the right track. Remember, social media is like everything else: quality counts!

Understand Your Followers
You should post material that resonates with who you are. But it’s also worth paying some attention to your followers and what they want (or at least what they don’t want). The number of likes and comments your posts receive can give you an insight into how much your followers enjoy your content, but you can also use an Instagram unfollowers tracker to see if your posts are costing you any followers. Over time, you’ll develop a pretty good understanding of the types of content that your followers like/don’t like.

Move With The Times, But Avoid Trends
What works — and doesn’t work — on Instagram and other social media sites changes over time. Just think about how heavily everyone used photo filters ten years ago; today, they would look very strange. You can boost your account by keeping up to date with social media standards and generally moving with the times. Be cautious, however, of leaning into every trend. While it can be fun to engage with trends that are relevant to your personality/business, blindly following every trend can make brands and individuals appear a little unoriginal. If you must, then at least do something creative with the trend!
