Metallic lips are having their beauty moment right now on the runways and the streets. The metallic or foil lip look is unique and different from a frost since the finish is matte and opaque with a mirror-like depth and shine. There are several methods to achieve this look but the easiest is using a metallic lipstick. BB Cosmetic recently sent me a set of the Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duos, an innovative, dual-ended lip kit that pairs a rich metallic matte shade with a matching glitter gloss.
Touch in Sol is a Korean beauty brand that marries the best in K-beauty technology with popular trends. Embracing the spirit of innovation, they create unique products with highly advanced formulations and rich, on trend colors. Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duos make it foolproof to create the look of metal lips. They are created with a creamy, matte metallic liquid color on one side and a complementary glittering gloss on the other. These can be worn alone for either a wash of velvety shimmer or a glittering gloss or layered together for an intense high impact liquid foil lip look.
Touch In Sol Metallist Liquid Foil Lipstick Duos come in seven color combinations.
Maria (Soft Brown)
Sophie (Black Cherry)
Penny (Pink Brown)
Like most other lip products, these lip duos work best on smooth and moisturized lips. If going for the full on metallic foil look, you apply the liquid first and allow to set for one minute before applying the glitter gloss on top. The metal liquid feels cooling and creamy upon application but it's not the most hydrating. It also has that distinct floral scent that frequent users of K-beauty products would be familiar with. The gloss on the other hand is quite moisturizing without being sticky. I just wanted to mention this for anyone who might want to wear either alone. The coverage for both the liquid and gloss is buildable so you can easily go for sheer or full coverage depending on your preference. The pigmentation was a little better with some shades Even with two layers, this product feels extremely lightweight and once it dries it's pretty much budge-proof. I found it very long wearing with virtually no fall-off and it doesn't feel drying as long as you have the gloss on. This is a lip product that can remain mostly intact even following a meal. I've tested it with salad and you know how dressing has a tendency to destroy lipstick. This lip product does not come off with micellar water. You will need to use an oil or waterproof makeup cleanser to completely remove it.
As someone who usually shies aways from bold lip looks, I personally find Penny and Maria to be the least intimidating to wear. And the adjustable coverage makes it easy for me to create looks that I'm comfortable with. These are a fun way to rock the metallic lip trend without much effort.
