Eye Candy : Yoon So Yi for W

I'm back! So what exactly did I get up to during the holiday break and my vacation from the internet? Well I went out for many holiday dinners, chilled at home with the hubby, ate, watched a bunch of movies, ate, edited photos, ate, enjoyed the unseasonably warm temps outside and did I mention that I ate like alot. Honestly this respite was just what I needed to rest, reflect and recuperate from a minor injury that was only aggravated by being on the computer. Now I'm looking forward to all the possibilities that come with a new year and I hope everyone's year has started off with a flourish!

I also watched a Korean drama for the first time in a few months. That's significant because K-dramas are my not so guilty pleasure and I have a drama watch list that only ever seems to expand. I blew through eight episodes of Color of a Woman which is currently airing on Channel A. The storyline is about two career women who are both friends and rivals working at a cosmetics company. I wasn't really familiar with her before this but Yoon So Yi is quite enjoyable as the main female lead. Anyway I found this beautiful editorial for W that was shot last summer while she was appearing in the drama Warrior Baek Dong Soo which just had to be shared. The concept is based upon the 2008 Joseon era historical movie Mi In Do (Portrait of a Beauty) about a woman who becomes quite successful after taking on her brother's identity as a painter when he commits suicide. The photos which suffuse a modern interpretation on traditional beauty are absolutely gorgeous and the actress was praised for her concentration and professionalism throughout the shoot. I think the final image of the hanbok clad silhouette behind the screen is especially striking.

Gorgeous photos!! Color of a Woman sounds interesting, I must check it out! Though I'm a little bit hesitant because Korean dramas are so addicting and I know I won't be able to pull myself away later!
