Through My Lens : Recently

Laduree Macaron Box, Nina Ricci La tentation de Nina
Life lately as seen through my camera. I finally stopped by Ladurée in Soho. Picked up some macarons and couldn't resist this vivid pink Nina Ricci La tentation de Nina box. Too bad I missed out on the accompanying special edition macarons but the seasonal cherry blossom (second left) one was quite yummy as were the rest. I'll have to go back for tea or lunch to review the cafe.
Picked up a few things that were on my wish lists and loving them.
This Albeit nourishing rose lip balm is as lovely as it looks and the packaging feels quite luxe for $12.
The RMS Lip2Cheek in Demure is really perfect for creating a rosy summer flush.
Hand Creams
I haven't tried these yet but I have a good feeling abut them.
Pineapple Cake Packaging, Feng Li Su
Pineapple cake (feng li su) in pretty packaging from Hubster's aunt in Taiwan.
These are like shortbread cookies with a jam-type filling and are a specialty of the country.
Taiwanese Cucumber Salad
Been making this Chinese cucumber salad every week, sometimes twice.
It's a refreshing warm weather favorite which we never tire of. Get the recipe here.
Tropical Fruit Smoothie
Smoothies have been my go-to breakfast more lately. Guava banana is a particular favorite.
It's just half of each fruit blended with almond milk and protein powder. I usually add some flax or chia seeds as well.
Baby greens and grape tomato salad
Having salads for lunch quite often recently. Totally loving grape tomatoes and Organic Girl I heart Baby Kale mix with baby kale, tango, baby spinach, baby green chard, green romaine & baby green oakleaf lettuce with my homemade miso sesame dressing.
Black Seed Bagels Sandwich
Tried out the much hyped Black Seed Bagels which features Montreal style bagels at the newly opened Hudson Eats at Brookfield Place. The beet cured lox sandwich was delicious but quite pricey at $12. Also had to settle for a salt bagel cause all the other flavors were sold out by 11:30. It was salty! Will do a full post on Hudson Eats after I get a chance to try out more of the eats.
pink peony
Totally taking advantage of the fact that peonies are still in season.
They are super pretty and romantic in soft blush tones.
The Empire State Building lit up in rainbow colors the other night for Pride week in NYC.
This view is so much better than the one that we were seeing when this happened.

The pineapple cake looks particularly yummy =)
Ladurée is pretty good but I find them a little sweet thought.

My goodness. This post just made me VERY hungry!! I adore macaroons, but somehow that amazing smoked salmon sandwich looks even better than they do!

Those macarons look delish! Did you smell the perfume that was part of the collaboration?

The packaging of the pineapple cake is so pretty! It's one of my hubby's favorite snacks. My grandfather is originally from that part of Taiwan that makes all the pineapple goodies, so we get snacks from them once in a while.

Oh my, you have been eating very green and healthy, I see, awesome! They look really yummy. I am personally not a macaron fan but they do look lovely themselves *_^ I must say I have not heard of these makeup and skincare brand but the lip balm and cheek stain does fancy me a great deal.

Looks like you are having a beautiful week there! Lovely indeed and thanks for dropping by to give me the moral boost I much needed ***BIG HUGS***

Hi Rowena! I always enjoy this kind of posts from you as Ive told you the last time, I love your photo skills. Btw. the macarons (especially the cherry blossom) look very delicious and the box is utterly chic. Glad you got some items from your wishlist, the RMS lips and cheek is very cute and I usually use this stuff in summer. The bagel is mouthwatering and I remember well your cucumber salad from last summer!:) Have a wonderful week dear, hugs! xo

I LOVE THOSE PINEAPPLE CAKES!!! but i'm really picking about which ones i'll eat lol. if it's not from taiwan, i'll probably pass. i've eaten way too many where the pastry is just all butter tasting or the filling is hard and thin.

I've been SO curious about Montreal style bagels. Yikes $12 is steep for a bagel with lox, but I'll still try a few things there! Mmm Laduree - half of my favorite part of the brand is the wonderful packaging (loving my pink boxes!) I'm definitely going to have to ask you for more foodie tips for my next trip back (maybe October - hopefully we can finally have some snacks together!)

I have that RMS blush and it is my favorite thing ever. Come to think of it, I don't have one single product from her that I don't absolutely love.

Otherwise, this post makes me all kinds of jealous mostly because of the bagels *cries* and the Laduree *sobs*
