Pinteresting Things : Summer Style

pinned here via source

Since summer in in full swing now, let's talk about summer style. My idea of summer dressing is definitely all about being effortless while trying to stay and look cool with a degree of modesty. That means falling back on classics and living in midi length dresses and skirts. I still wear pants and jeans and occasionally bermuda length shorts but never flip flops. I don't even own a pair as I find them massively uncomfortable and a magnet for dirty feet. The outfit above could be my perfect summer look and uniform as it translates my love for striped tops with skinny jeans. I swap in striped tanks when it's warmer and flat sandals to accommodate my rehabilitating ankle. These pins from my Style Files board on Pinterest are other types of looks that I personally wear and like. What's your summer style? Do you have a go to outfit?

Miranda Kerr keeps it simple and chic with this tank and skinny jeans combo worn with a fedora and flat sandals.

Patterned crop pants and a statement necklace jazz up this breezy look on Frida Gustavsson.

This Emerson Fry look is another one I could live in with the stripes moving to the skirt.
The bright pink sandals add a perfect accent of color!

Miranda Kerr pulls off another winning effortless look with this tank and watercolor midi skirt outfit.

There's something about jumpsuits and the summer and this polka dot one is easy way to make a fashion statement.

What's cooler than a cool blue maxi dress topped with a floppy hat

This sheer dress is such a pretty way to wear color when it's warm.

A sundress with a fabulous print like this one worn by Natalia Alaverdian is a great way to beat the heat and look fashionable at the same time.

I'm loving all these outfits, Rowena. Although I'm really a jean shorts-and-shirt girl in the summer, I love skirts and dresses for the hot weather.:)

Morning Rowena! I have your same idea of summer style, effortless and fresh with something glam to brighten it up. I dont wear flip flop either (just on the beach). I like the outfits you collected, would love to wear them all! Actually, my to go outfit is a maxi skirt, a plain tank and flats :) Have a lovely day dear, hugs! xo

The skirt looks great on you. I only wear flip flops occasionally when on holidays in summer.

I like Miranda's easy style and her black bag a lot! I find black purses are hard to carry around in summer, but that slouch and roomy figures make it a nice summer bag (although it would be fabulous any season). ;)

Skirts are great in the summer but I wear either pants or shorts all the time. Those inspiration pins are just lovely.

Miranda looks amazing and love the floral pants in the pic under hers, also that tropical printed dress is beautiful.
Thanks for sharing your opinion on my last post...Hope your week is going well.

Great post - glad I came across it on bloglovin! I completely agree with you on trying to stay cool in the summer but maintaining the modesty, especially when you feel like you're going to be boiling in anything more than a bikini. I don't own any flipflops either, I don't feel very comfortable in them which is strange haha.

Have a great week and I look forward to more posts :) Saida xx

I love the combination of a full midi skirt and a top- particularly in the first picture. I cannot remember the last time I wore pants- it's just been too hot! I've been wearing lots of dresses and skirt + top combos.

These are all great looks and examples of summer wear. I took modesty to a new level this past weekend, you will have to check out my post next week. Oh my "cut-offs" were way too long. I just ran out the door and didn;t check in the mirror. Won't do that again!

Flip flops are definitely for the swimming pool :-) my go to outfit is made of knee-length dress and bon-ton shoes for the office, maxis and flat sandals in my free time :-) wish you a lovely day Rowena!!

I will admit to occasionally throwing on my Fit Flop sandals if I have to do a lot of walking (seriously, the most comfortable shoes on earth). But otherwise, I live in dresses, wedges and a fedora!

I love that purple like sheer dress, that is so gorgeous. Perfect for the summer time :))) xx

Oh god I hate flip flops with the intensity of a thousand suns. No arch support, gets your feet massively dirty, and far too easy for your feet/toes to touch the floor. DIRTY FLOORS, MAN. I really like most of these outfits--haven't had a chance yet to pick up a straw trilby--they make every outfit 1000x more summery!

Dresses and skirts are definitely ideal though I do opt for pants several times a week.

i've been looking for a nice skirt for the summer. i'm still looking! i love the first one though

I'm loving the first outfit! Skirts are the best for summer in Florida, and I don't own enough!

I pretty much live in classics because they are enduring and eco friendly (I like buying less and focusing on quality). I also love the idea of modesty. My heels are low because I don't think I can walk in high heels all the time. I don't own flip flops either. I have too many striped items in my closet but I'm ok with it. I prefer and reach out to skirts, dresses and lots of whites every summer :)
