Through My Lens : Recently

World Trade Center, New YorkA view of downtown Manhattan from Chelsea before the sunset. The new World Trade Center is a rather majestic presence in the skyline. I look forward to seeing it when walking south on my way home now.
Sky Reflector Net Fulton Center
The Sky Reflector Net design of the roof of the newly opened Fulton Center transit hub looks so modern and cool.It was also designed with a real practical purpose in mind.

Asian Food, Chinese Vegetarian Dish
Shanghai Bok Choy and Enoki Mushrooms sautéed with garlic is my go-to vegetable dish at home lately. Got the idea for this after having watercress with enoki at Shanghai Garden but they made it a tad bland and watery. I think a sweeter green actually works better. Let me know if you'd like to see a recipe post for this dish.
Asian Food at home
We usually mass wrap a batch of dumplings when it starts getting cold to have throughout the winter. The filling is a mixture of ground pork, beef, chives, cabbage, onion, garlic and shitake mushroom. There are over 200 sitting in our freezer now and we made ones for boiling and frying this time.
Nish Nush NYC
Satisfied a falafel craving with the Popeye Delight from Nish Nush. This delicious flavorbomb is a spinach and mushroom falafel with red cabbage and spinach.
Someone might be trying to hide the fact that she needs a haircut by putting a hat on it.

Love, love, love all the macro fall photography, makes me want to go outside more, which is saying a lot since when the temperatures drop I tend to develop shut-in tendencies ;-)

The Shanghai Bok Choy and Enoki Mushrooms sautéed with garlic sounds delicious! I eat a lot more cooked veggies than raw in fall and winter, and I am always looking for new and interesting flavor combinations. Would love a recipe!

Fantastic photography - the world through your lens is truly a wonderful place; the colours in particular are so striking! I love your bright pink beanie by the way, haha and whether you need a haircut or not, the beanie distracts from the issue!! ;)

Seeing these pics was really a joy...it also made me a bit hungry...not literally because it is almost midnight and as I'm visiting my family you better believe there is no place in my tummy whatsoever...but I'm sure images of this food will make me a very hungry girl when I wake up:)

You look adorable with that beanie...good hair accessory (and as it gets cold it's usually the hat) is a girl's best friend!

thank you for sharing all these awesome photos!

I have been meaning to get down to Fulton Center and see this dome. I know the tower is so close to where I work I see it every day. But makes me think of that day. Could not imagine working there then.

I have always enjoyed your "through my lens" blog post! This one is no different. The sky ceiling of Fulton Center looks interesting. That goes to show that some times, we need to look up to find something pretty *_^

Falafel is something new to me, have not heard or eaten one but it sure looks yummilicious! and boy, you do know how to fold dumplings and make them look so delicious.

You are seriously making me hungry already as the rain has just stopped pouring here and it's close to dinner time already! gosh, I better get cooking soon *_^

Take good care, Rowena. You look lovely though trying hiding your hair, ahaha

Cheers,
Jeann
