3B Beauty Box September 2016

I've decided to stick with my 3B Beauty Box subscription until the end of the year before reevaluating whether to keep it or not. Their recent boxes have featured better curations and they've also improved on service in terms of my box lands in my mailbox now. Previously i wasn't getting it until the latter half of each month and lately it's been arriving in the first or second week which is nice. This is my September 2016 box. The information card highlights honey which is the star ingredient in two of the products. While they've upgraded the design of the information cards, I have to say the product descriptions are still pretty poorly written. More often than not, I have to ask Google for more information on the products.

3B which stands for Beauty Beyond Borders is a beauty subscription box that makes Asian beauty products more accessible overseas. This is a monthly service that costs $12. Each box contains 4 - 5 deluxe samples from a range of brands and the products are supposed to be "new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on". I would say that 3B is like an Asian beauty version of Birchbox or Ipsy. 3B is currently just a US based subscription service. This box is ideal for anyone interested in trying out Asian beauty products or can't access them easily. It looks like there ins't a waiting list anymore and you can just sign up for a 3B Box subscription now.

Etude House Honey Cera Cream
This is a moisturizing and firming cream formulated with honey and royal jelly to moisturize and smooth, ceramide to strengthen the skin barrier and immortel (often called the flower of eternity) to firm.

Etude House Honey Cera Eye Serum
A priming eye serum with honey, ceramide, niacinamide and hyaluronic acid that works to nourish, firm hydrate and brighten the eye area.

Etude House often has cute concepts/packaging but the the actual products themselves are rather meh to me. These actually sound pretty good since I happen to really like honey as a beauty ingredient. I will probably wait until it gets colder to try these out.

Heimish All Clean Balm
This is a cleansing balm that can be used the first step in a double cleanse. It's solid in the package and transforms into a oil when used on the face. This is a natural, hypoallergenic and paraben-free product made with shea butter, donkey milk, coconut extract and citrus herb oils.

I actually have a full sized jar of this product which I haven't started using yet. I had purchased it since cleansing balms are a staple in my skincare routine and the natural ingredients sounded really good. I also received this exact sample with another beauty order. I don't mind since they will be put to good use. One of them will be coming along with me on my upcoming vacation.

Skin79 Super Plus Triple Function BB Cream
This is supposed to be one of the hottest BB creams in Asia. It is a Skin79 product that has been around for awhile only with an upgraded formulation where the sun protection has been improved to SPF 30 PA++ from 25 along with whitening, wrinkle improvement and sebum control benefits.

I feel like I'm meeting an old friend with this product since this was among one of the first BB creams I ever used some years ago. Once I made the jump to BB cream, I never really went back to foundation. Cushions compacts are my jam these days but I'll give this a go just to try out the new formulation.

Welcos Aloe Vera Moisture Real Soothing Gel
A skin soothing gel made with certified organic ingredients including 98% aloe vera, cucumber extract and vitamin E. This can be used as a moisturizer, DIY facial mask, makeup remover, DIY facial mask or hair pack.

Aloe vera gel is one of those products that I like to keep around the house because it's useful for a number of purposes. I never bothered replacing the last tube that we finished up so I guess it's been replaced now.

Overall I would say that I was satisfied with this month's 3B Box. There wasn't anything groundbreaking but all the products are useful. Being the practical sort, I always prefer usable over exciting. It would be nice to see more products which are newer to market like the Heimish All Clean Balm.

What do you think of these products? Is there one you'd be interested to try?

I think I've seen that BB cream in Pacific Mall here. Will see if I can find it again. I really like BB creams but haven't really used in awhile. And that cleansing balm sounds good. I always just hear about the Banila Co one so it's always nice to hear what else is out there:)

PS Rowena, have you seen Train To Busan? I know you're not too fond of horror, but am just wondering. I just recently saw it and I freaking loved it:D Gong Yoo is such a cutie and now I really have to watch Coffee Prince.

I actually like this month's box, yes it's nothing groundbreaking as you said but I would get good use out of each product. If only 3B would expand to Canada....

too bad they're only available in US, because this 3B beauty box seems to be improving with every month. Lovely products! I think I would be happy if a honey base products arrived to me because I love honey and I'm sure it is one of the best ingredients.

What would we do without google? It's a shame that the info about the products was not up to the task, but at least google comes to the rescue, right?

The aloe vera gel sounds good .. we have two aloe vera plants in our home, I use it for allergy relief. So, I'd probably try the Heimish All Clean Balm instead. Thanks for sharing your review of this month's box, Rowena. Take care, and enjoy the rest of your week. :)

You got a nice selection of items! As a BB cream user 99% of the time I liked that you got a BB cream in the box :) It's a shame that the product descriptions and information provided isn't the best, but it's great you will be able to use everything :)

Hope you're having a great week :)
