I was recently selected by Influenster to receive a Make Up For Ever VoxBox with the brand's newly launched Artist Color Shadow which is a new and improved version of MUFE's iconic Artist Shadow.
Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadow
Price: Eyeshadow Refills $17 each (0.08 oz/ 2.5 g) // Refillable Palette $2
Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow has been reinvented as Artist Color Shadow. The collection features a reformulated array of 121 shades in 5 unique finishes including matte, metallic, diamond, satin and iridescent. The upgraded formulation of these professional level eyeshadows features atomized pigments and water technology for a superior level of blendability and high impact pigmentation with immediate color payoff that lasts up to 12 hours.Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadows are packaged as individual single color refills that can be used with the Make Up For Ever pro-inspired palette system of Artist Color Refillable Palettes designed to be used as customizable, magnetized cases that can hold any refill item inluding eye shadows, blushes, highlighters and face powders. These cases are available in range of 5 sizes allowing users to create any combination of customized palette. The Large (quad) and Extra Large (6 pan) sizes include mirrors. Each case is $2.
I received three shades: M650 Cookie (Matte Finish), ME654 Cauldron (Metallic Finish), & D410 Gold Nugget (Diamond Finish).
Along with the three eyeshadow shades, I was sent a medium size Artist Color Refillable Palette to hold them. The metal palette has a lightweight yet sturdy feel and I was able to easily place the eyeshadow refills inside. M650 Cookie is warm neutral khaki color with a matte finish. Despite it's somewhat light appearance in the pan, it applies with a surprising depth and in terms of color payoff and pigmentation. ME654 Cauldron is a lustrous metallic bronze which is both versatile and flattering across a range of skintones. The finish is more shimmery than metallic which is nice. D410 Gold Nugget is twinkly golden yellow with a sparkly finish. I tend to find colors like this polarizing since they can be difficult to pull off but this was surprisingly flattering since the shade reads more gold than yellow and the diamond finish is actually on the subtle side with very fine particles rather than chunks of glitter.
Based on the ones that I've tried I can say that Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadows have excellent pigmentation and color payoff. These shadows have a soft creamy, blendable texture and provide buildable coverage from sheer to full on/opaque. These eyeshadows can be used with or without primer. I was able to get a solid 8 hours of wear sans primer without much in the way of creasing, fading or falloff. The matte finish definitely wore the best and the diamond finish had more falloff than the other two. And they took minimal effort to remove at the end of the day with a little micellar water which is also a positive. MUFE has really delivered with this product. The customizable palette format is practical as well as travel friendly. The expansive library of 121 shades gives consumers a wide range of choices especially one is in need of a specific color in a specific finish. This system offers so much in terms of versatility and flexibility and the packaging is eco-friendly. It's also fantastic for building a collection that one can mix and match with shades that will all be used making it a fantastic alternative to prefabricated palettes that often include shades that one doesn’t need or want.
Make Up For Ever Artist Color Shadows are available for sale at Sephora and Make Up Forever.

These look gorgeous. The pigment is super x
I am a huge fan of customizable palettes, but I haven´t tried MUFE eyeshadows yet. I only tried their mascara which I liked, but not loved.

Oh I love that gold shadow! :) I like that you can customise these and pick only the colours you want, especially for someone like me that doesn't wear a lot of eyeshadows and would never get use from a full palette.
Hope that you are having a nice start to your week :)

The bronze/gold tones are absolutely stunning - perfect for shimmering in the evening! 12 hours lasting time is also super impressive. Wonderful review, Rowena :)

I've not tried any shadows by Make Up For Ever, only the poweders and foundations. These colours actually look like a range I'd wear. Bronze and metallics enhance my complexion so I love those. Lovely travel-friendly options!

They look beautiful. I am always so scared to use eye shadow.. whenever I wear some I end up feeling super self conscious.. I don't know why.

I love the idea of a refillable palette. There's always 1 or 2 shades I run out of. I wish you could do this with the naked palettes!

I haven't heard about Make Up For Every Artist brand before, but their stuff sure looks professional. The packing seems of excellent quality and it is great that one can order the shades one wants and put them in this practical packaging, not to mentioned that refillable palette sounds more eco-friendly to me. These three shades you selected are gorgeous. This yellow gold is particularly stunning and would be just perfect to jazz up a make up look. It is great that the finish to Khaki is more shimmery than metallic, I think I would prefer that as well. You selected great options. Brown (nugget), gold (yellow) and (medium) khaki sound like very versatile shades. These kind of eye-shadows can easily be featured in day to night time make up looks. I would say they are great options.
Love how pigmented those colors are!
I haven't tried MUFE eyeshadows before but I really love how they let you pick different singles to build your own palette, I think they do the same with their blushes and powders too! Anyways, the colors look beautiful and the quality sounds fantastic - will have to keep these in mind the next time I'm shopping for eyeshadows!

I'm not huge on eyeshadows. I have a certain colour preference and brands I stick to. That said the Dior shade I've been using for over a decade is discontinued and I need to find a replacement. I've only tried one or two other brands but I find pigmentation is horribly sheer. I might look into MUFE. I'm especially loving that gold shade!
