Through My Lens : On Instagram

Instagram photos

A few highlights from the past month as seen on Instagram which serves as my unofficial food diary and love letter to NYC. I also post quick reviews here and there. I generally try to keep the content unique so it's not just a bunch of photos from here. You can see more on Instagram and do follow if you like what you see...

I've gotten back to posting a little more regularly and my grid has formed a pattern for the moment. It looks cool but I'm not sure if it's going to last because it does have it's limitations. New York continues to be my biggest muse and because of a new book that I've been reading, I've been taking photos every day.

  • The city can look like a real winter wonderland when it snows...
  • I walk this path regularly on the way home form Soho and this view never gets tired.
  • The OSKIA Renaissance Mask which I'm currently obsessed with. I've been experimenting with my product photography because I'm kind of bored with flatlays. I used a gobo for the first time in many years to play with the light on this one.
  • Brunch at Marché Maman which combines retail with a restaurant in a really charming way.
  • What's more New York than yellow taxis in traffic on Park Avenue.
  • I did a quick review of the Joanna Vargas Skincare Dawn Face Mask which is formulated with a powerful combination of hyaluronic and mandelic acid to exfoliate and brighten the skin.
  • We decided to have dinner at Westville on Wall Street on a nice Spring-like evening. Their Crispy Vegan Quinoa & Artichoke Burger with roast vegetables is TTDF and I plan on getting it again the next time we're there.
  • Staple Street is such a popular spot for photoshoots. Park Shin Hye did one there and so did Im Si Wan.
  • Hopefully our last snowstorm for this winter. It does make an amazing subject for photos though.  Yes this was blurry on purpose.

All the photos are gorgeous, and I especially love the lighting in that Oskia Renaissance Mask shot! Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's a gobo?

I thought I was the only one who was getting tired of flatlays, I feel so uninspired lately. And like Jenny, I am also curious what is gobo?

I love this series and yes New York can look like a wonderland when it is snowing, that is until it stops then not so much. And Westville sounds good. Oh Staple Street I will have to keep that in mind.

New York always look amazing captured through your lenses...I just love that last photograph and I knew it was blurry on purpose.:)

I hope you won't have any more snow and that the spring will arrive soon...even if as Anne said NY looks beautiful in the snow...and you capture it so well.

NYC is such a nice place, it's full of spots to take photos. Oskia is on my wishlist but I need to focus on products which I keep in my stash and then buy new ones :)
