10 Things I Love About Summer

As this year continues to fly by along with the summer season, I'm doing everything I can to just slow down and savor every last minute that still remains. That got me thinking about all things that I really enjoy about summer, even though it is probably not my favorite season.

1. The longer days
I just love the lingering daylight and not having to turn on my lights as soon as I get home in the evenings.

2. The sunrises and sunsets
They just seem even more beautiful during the summer.

3. Hanging out on our terrace
To live in the city and to also have an outdoor space to enjoy it is the best!

4. Summer fruits and vegetables
Time to eat watermelon, cherries and berries of all kinds. And tomatoes and squash taste the best this time of year because they're actually in season.

5. Simple no cook dinners
I never need an excuse to not have to turn on my stove. There are so many possibilities with salad and grain bowls which can be so delicious and satisfying.

6. Baseball season
This is great if you happen to be an avid baseball fan and I support my team all year round even when they're not playing well. Bandwagon fans who only show up when their teams are doing well are like the worst.

7. Outdoor movies and concerts
Especially against a cityscape or skyline backdrop at sunset.

8. Midweek dates
Something my husband and I always like to do during the warmer months. We recently attended a fun cooking class with Leisurely and had an amazing time at Temple Court last week.

9. Cute summer dresses and skirts
It's nice to have a break from pants.

10. Vacations, staycations or long weekends
Yes to more opportunities/ways to relax!

What are some things you love about summer?

  4. It's only when I got older that I really appreciated summer and now, it's my fave season, chingu. Our winters are so harsh that the two months (sometimes less) of sun is a breath of fresh air. I just love being able to go out in shorts, going to the beach, and like you, the longer days. Not really looking forward to September...sigh....

  6. I love all of the things you listen. Cute summer dresses and skirts are definitely something to look forward to. Spending more time outdoors is a definite plus. All the outdoor activities that become accessible in summer like outdoor cinema, music festivals, concerts and etc----I love the fact that in Summer there is always something happening. There are so many events one can visit....and more stayaction and vacation opportunities.

  7. OH yes, the longer days are very much welcomed! Sadly, the heatwave has now broken here in the UK and so we're all starting to look forward to Autumn haha, but gosh you've now got me daydreaming about outdoor theatres again, haha! :)

  13. I love the warmth and not having to dress up in too many layers, the summer foods like watermelon and berries and now the fresh corn. And of course the abundance of daylight which increases the time spend outdoors. Out of curiosity, which is your favorite season? Mine is spring.

  14. I don't like summer Rowena! I think y'all know this by now hahahaha. But one thing is for sure, dawn and dusk are exceptional. I'm going to Europe in a few days and some of the apartments lined up have some magnificent and panoramic views and I can't wait to watch the sky transform.

  17. Longer days for sure! I just feel so much happier and more productive when it's bright outside, not to mention it means more time to take blog photos, haha! I also love dresses and lighter fabrics of summer pieces, I'm going to miss them when it starts getting cold again!
