Current Mood

Reading...  The Last Black Unicorn by Tiffany Haddish. I think Tiffany Hadish is hilarious and her memoir is really entertaining and heartbreaking at times. Some people use ghost writers but it's obvious she wrote this herself because it's her voice through and through and that's what makes it so entertaining. She is an inspiration!

Watching... the last season of Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown. It's still hard to believe that he's really gone.

Cheering... for the NY Yankees. They have advanced into the playoffs and are currently playing in the ALDS against the red sox, their arch rivals who I happen to despise for many reasons including a racist fanbase. The Yankees came within a game of the World Series last season. We want to see them go all the way and bring home a championship again! I apologize that I might tweet about baseball a little more than usual this time of year. I get a little excited during the games.

Eating...  hot and sour soup. I had a minor cold due to the change in weather last month. This was all I wanted to have the whole time and I'm still obsessed with it. I happen to enjoy this soup for breakfast. I get it from Shanghai Cuisine in Chinatown. No I don't make my own because I'm still cooking with a single induction burner. That's a story for another day.

Drinking... Four Sigmatic Mushroom Hot Cacao.  This is a nice way to enjoy occasionally enjoy the taste of hot chocolate without a bunch of sugar and additives. It also provides some gentle relaxation benefits.

Getting... to know Rodan + Fields skin care. I recently attended a lovely breakfast at Allure Magazine celebrating their Best Of Beauty award winner, Active Hydration Bright Eye Complex. The brand also introduced their Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid Broad Spectrum SPF 30 which I adore and will review here soon. I'm also starting their Reverse regimen which I will also write about.

Loving...  Aurate jewelry. I decided to revamp my jewelry collection after cleaning out my closet in the spring and stick with real, quality investment pieces. I respect Aurate and their commitment to conflict-free diamonds and high quality as well as their social responsibility. Their jewelry is both beautiful and affordable. I wore the Icon Diamond Necklace and Mini Wraparound Ring with Diamonds all summer and I just purchased the Midi Diamond Bar Pendant when Aurate sent me a promo for $100 off.

Discovering the perfect strapless bra at Harper & Wilde. Their Flex Everyday Strapless actually fits and stays on. Plus it's well made, comfortable and well priced at $35. I took advantage of the company's cool home try-on program which made shopping a breeze.

Enjoying... the Diptyque Hong Kong candle I picked up last weekend when their City Candle range was back for a limited time. The floral scent is absolutely intoxicating and I look forward to repurposing that gorgeous red jar.

The perfect strapless bra exists? I have looked for it for so long I have kind of given up on it.

I don't think I've heard of hot and sour soup before, but it sounds interesting! I've been looking for the perfect strapless bra for at least 10 years now! $35 is a pretty good price for a strapless bra! Have a great week Rowena!

I’m loving your “current mood” Mood board; nice selections. I have been finding it so hard to watch “Parts Unknown” since we lost Bourdain; so, so sad. I’m going to check out Harper and Wilde; I have been on the hunt for a good strapless bra. Have a great Week.

It’s nice to see that you are also liking Four Sigmatic now. I still love their products. It really is so hard to believe that Anthony Bourdain is gone. Hope you enjoy the week Rowena. FYI: I could not comment on your blog via mobile or tablet for some reason, I had to go through my G+.
