This Harper's Bazaar editorial lensed by Chen Man in which Ni Ni transforms into a Ming Dynasty warrior and a sultry lady of mystery against a backdrop of Ninna-ji Temple is nothing short of breathtaking. I've actually featured a few pictorials with Ni Ni this year but this one might be my favorite. The gorgeous actress had a successful run with her first television series, the epic historical drama The Rise of Phoenixes (凰权·弈天下) which I actually finished watching recently. 70 episodes seems daunting at first but if you pace yourself, it's quite doable. The episodes are around 45 minutes. I watched an episode a day with some occasional weekend binging and finished it in just over two months. The Rise of Phoenixes had it's highs and lows and I found it mostly enjoyable. Chen Kun and Ni Ni carried the show admirably. Ni Ni is now filming the fantasy drama Love and Destiny (宸汐缘) with Chang Chen while Chen Kun has moved onto the wuxia film The Weary Poet which reunites him with Zhou Xun.

What a stunning editorial! The Rise of Phoenixes sounds fascinating.
I have to say, this editorial is now my favourite ever. I love how magical and ethereal this spread is. Simply stunning. I'll have to add Rise of The Phoenixes to my watch list now. I'm currently watching a historical drama too right now, Queen For Seven Days. It's been good but I don't like Yeon Woo Jin as Yeok.
