Favorite Beauty Products Of 2018

Favorite Beauty Products of 2018

As 2018 is winding down, I'm taking a look back at some of my favorite beauty products of the year. These are all products which have made a previous appearance on the blog. They have all really delivered and become staples for me. Not surprisingly, they're all skincare, save for one. Thanks to two of these products, I have been able to give up foundation and mascara which makes life so much easier.  Clear + Brilliant was a major game changer for me this year. After two courses of 3 treatments each, I'm getting close to the skin of my dreams. There was an incredible deal for Black Friday so I purchased another course which I'll start after the new year. Okay now on to the products...

Dr. Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30
Featured in this Recent Loves post
I started using this color correcting treatment in place of foundation this summer. As of now I'm still using it and have not gone back to foundation. This is an SPF 30 green tinged serum that turns beige-ish on contact with skin to neutralize redness and inflammation. It's made with one of my favorite ingredients, centella asiatica which stimulates cell growth and forms a barrier to protect skin from environmental and  free radical damage. This product evens out my skin and makes it look fresh, natural and just better overall. Since it's basically skincare, using it has actually improved the condition my skin as well.

Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial
Full review in this post comparing it to The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Drunk Elephant Babyfacial is a chemical peel product formulated to target fine lines, texture and dullness that works by sloughing off dead skin cells to promote a brighter and more even-toned complexion. While this product doesn't really do much to impart a glow, it works very effectively to refine the appearance of pores and improve overall complexion clarity without any irritation or sensitivity.  I'm on my third bottle.

Weleda Skin Food
I used this a few years ago and forgot about it. I bought a tube and added it back into my routine when I started doing Clear + Brilliant and was reminded of why I loved it before. With it's rich plant blend formula, Skin Food has been called a a natural La Mer and having used both I actually like this better.  It's a wonderful occlusive moisturizer that can be used on the face as well as the hands and body.

neuLASH Lash Enhancing Serum
Featured in this recent loves post
I didn't think it was possible but I have been able to stop wearing mascara because of neuLASH.  My lashes have never looked fuller or longer and more importantly, they feel healthy and strong. The nutrient-rich formula contains a proprietary combination of amino acids and bioengineered peptides to strengthen and protect, biotin to fortify,  panthenol to moisturize and improve flexibility and durability and pumpkin seed extract to nourish and thicken lashes. I also use and swear by neuLash neuBrow Brow Enhancing Serum which has worked so well, I was recently asked if I had my brows microbladed.

Coola Full Spectrum 360° Sun Silk Drops SPF 30

Featured in this recent loves post
HEV light and infrared light from our phones, tablets and computers which can cause premature signs of aging is a concern of mine. These innovative drops contain an advanced clean, organic formula that provides full spectrum protection from the sun, environmental toxins as well as digital overexposure. This lightweight liquid can be used alone or mixed with any skincare or makeup product. I like how it works without changing the integrity of the product you mix it with and how it's lightly hydrating with an invisible finish. I use this every day.

Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel
Featured in this post about morning cleansers
I fell in love with the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel the first time I used it and I love it so much I'm on my second bottle. Formulated with a potent blend of natural vitamins A, C, and E, omega 6 fatty acids and essential skin nutrients, this nourishing gel-to-oil cleanser melts into skin to quickly and gently remove impurities and makeup. Everything about this cleanser makes it a pleasure to use  and skin just feels so clean, soft and balanced and looks brighter on the days when I do.

Vitabrid C¹² FACE Brightening Powder
Featured in this brand inroduction
Vitamin C has been major in my skincare this year and my favorite product has to be this  breakthrough powder formulation which stores and preserves active Vitamin C within skin-friendly mineral layers and continuously releases it transdermally, promoting collagen production. It can easily be combined with water or any skincare product (serum, essence, cream or toner) for a potent antioxidant boost. I love the advanced technology and this form is both practical and travel friendly. More importantly, it works to give my skin a brighter, more even tone and clearer appearance.  I like to use it in during the day to get the sun protection benefits and pair it with a vitamin E product to boost its efficacy.

Oskia Renaissance Mask
Featured in this brand introduction
Oskia Renaissance Mask is a multi-award winner for good reason. This luxurious, balm treatment contains natural fruit acids that work to remove tired cells and alleviate congestion; lactic acid to stimulate cell regeneration and prebiotics to help fight bacteria for a luminous complexion. This gentle mask which is like a "glow in a jar" works exactly as it claims. Oskia founder Georgie Cleeve told me it's one of her personal favorites as well.

Have you tried the new Oskia cleanser, the Perfect Cleanser? It is richer than the Cleansing Gel, so I can imagine you would like it in winter.

Ahh yes I've been thinking about trying the OSKIA renaissance cleansing gel and it's good to hear you like it as well. Thanks for the recommendation on the Dr. Jart color corrector treatment - it's on my list now! I also reordered the babyfacial. I wasn't sure I would like it, but it really smooths out my complexion. I also forgot you wrote about neuLash and I'll check it out too!

I don't know any of these brands Rowena. But then again, I don't know much about skincare. Lol. I just use the ones that's recommended by my SIL and it seems to be working well. I should check these out.

I love the Oskia Renaissance cleanser and miss it dearly now that it's gone! I've been debating whether or not the Babyfacial is worth it because the AHA % is so high, but I'm going to see if I can get it as a deluxe size in a kit so I can give it a try!

I've been wanting to try a lash serum because I've been seeing so many products out there for it. The last two years I've been getting lash extensions and been hooked. I feel "naked" if I don't have extensions in. For me I've been toying with taking a break, but like I said I don't like not having them in (plus I don't need to wear any eye make up and still feel good!).
