Reading...
This book is a sequel to Anna K, a modern day retelling of Tolstoy's Anna Karenina set in Manhattan which I read last year. Similar to the first this is light and entertaining as it follows the same group of characters through various ups and downs. There is good character development but I wish that there was more proper closure provided for all of them.

Watching...
You would think a drama set in a prison would make it grim but quite the opposite. Prison Playbook centers around a baseball player who lands in prison after being charged with excessive violence for beating someone who tried to sexually assault his sister.  It is a character driven drama propelled by social commentary on a flawed justice system as well as the the power of genuine reform. The humanity of this show is incredibly touching and the performances are solid. The main character's romance was the weakest plot line as could almost be done away with.

Also watching...
We held off on watching this until Season 2 was about to drop this Friday because our friends said that it was incredible but leaves you wanting more. Totally understand why this French caper was one of the most streamed shows last year. The talented and easy on the eyes Omar Sy is brilliant as the gentleman thief and master of disguise Arsène Lupin who steals Marie Antoinette’s jewels in the very first episode.

Eating...
We've always liked kimchi and since discovering K-Kimchi we've been enjoying it more than ever. They offer different varieties and larger sizes. Their Vegan kimchi is all around delicious on it's own as well as cooked in dishes. Their Magic kimchi is drier with a slight smoky flavor and it is the best for kimchi fried rice,  kimchi pancakes and for use in stir fry dishes. Also love their mild New York kimchi and kimchi slaw which make wonderful sides. Kimchi is a traditional Korean dish made with salted fermented vegetables that has some really fantastic health benefits. Nutrient dense and rich in probiotics and antioxidants, it helps to fight inflammation and boost the immune system. K-Kimchi ships all around the US and they have a sampler pack that offers an ideal way to try their kimchi. This is not sponsored, I just love their kimchi and their customer service is aces as well.

Drinking...
I really like sparkling water and am always looking for new ones to try. Nixie is made with only filtered carbonated water using a reverse osmosis purification system and certified organic flavors from botanicals, teas and fruit and it is a new favorite in our house. The taste is so crisp and refreshing. We especially like the Watermelon Mint and Pomegranate Green Tea flavors.

Upgraded to a...
I adored our Zojirushi Micom Rice Cooker but was feeling a little limited by the three cup size so I gave it to my mom and upgraded to a six cup Cuckoo rice cooker because I like to use my rice cooker to make other things besides rice. The sleek aesthetics complement our redone backsplash perfectly and it is so quick. Love that it easily cooks GABA rice as well as the self cleaning function. A definite addition to my top 12 kitchen essentials!

Summer Dresses
Recently acquired this cute Universal Thread dress and it's been perfect for the wave of summer heat we've been experiencing lately. Whatever happened to the Spring weather?

Loving...
As an avid fan of weekly baths for wellness I like to add different things depending on what my body needs. I would actually do hydrogen peroxide and baking soda baths when I'm not feeling well so I was intrigued by this prefab hydrogen peroxide bath. It is lovely for when I feeling lethargic due to my low iron levels. It is also wonderfully soothing for aching muscles and I swear my allergies also feel better when I use this.

Anna K sounds like an interesting retelling of a classical novel. I'd love to watch Lupin as well. Thanks for recommendations. That summer dress must be lovely. It has gotten hot here as well. Take care.

I do miss and enjoy your book recommendations - thanks for the latest ones and I'll look for Anna K. Ooh I will also put Lupin on my list. My husband loved it but I get so overwhelmed by shows that I don't bother watching too many lol

Thanks for the reminder about email followers - I really need to do something about that! :)

I love the idea of a self cleaning rice cooker too - ours is a pain to clean so I want a self cleaning one when we decide to replace it for sure!

Hope you had a great weekend :)
