Some Inspiration If You're Bored Of The Same Weekly Meals


It can get tedious and tiresome to cook each and every day. But when you consider that eating at home saves money and presents an opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones, it's a worthwhile investment of your time.  One drawback might be boredom from eating the same things all the time. If this is the case, there are a number of meals that could satisfy your tastebuds. Take a look at these are fairly easy to prepare comfort foods that and you can add to your repertoire.

Lasagna
Lasagna is a family favorite that is simple and satisfying. And it doesn't have to be traditional either. You can make many varieties of lasagna including a meat-free version if you are trying to avoid meat. Instead of using ground meat, you can substitute  beans or vegetables. A lasagna can involve a degree of preparation since you have to cook the filling components along with the cheese sauce, and then construct it with the pasta sheets. All that work is worth it in the end as lasagna makes for a wonderful and filling dinner. You can pair a lasagna with salad, roasted vegetables, or a soup.

Pork
If you enjoy pork occasionally, it doesn't mean you don’t have to opt for the usual combination of sausage and mash. There are many recipes using pork, ribs. You can cook baby back ribs in the oven for a quick barbecue alternative. These can be served with roasted potatoes and it will feel like you are eating in a fancy restaurant. You could also make pulled pork in your slow cooker if you have one. If you know you will have a busy day and won’t want to cook in the evening, putting your slow cooker on before you leave will ensure you have a lovely meal waiting for you when you get home.

Mac n Cheese
A good one pot meal that is also easy is mac n cheese. This can be a good and quick meal especially if you have children or are particularly busy. All you have to do is cook the pasta and make the cheese sauce, combine and bake in the oven. Mac and cheese is tasty on its own or you can incorporate some vegetables in it to add some color and make it healthier. You can also try using whole grain pasta or adding a  healthy protein like canned tuna, smoked salmon, sliced grilled pork tenderloin, roasted chicken, or canned beans to make it more of a balanced meal.

Chili
Chili is another hearty dish that is quick and simple. This can easily be made vegetarian as well if you want to leave out the meat. A chili is warming and something lovely to come home to after a long day. You can add as much spice as you want to suit your tastes. If you're serving it to little ones, you can tone down the seasonings and make it a bit milder for them. If you want to add a twist to your chili, try sneaking in some extra vegetables like sweet potatoes, zucchini or peppers and serving it with some whole grains such as brown or wild rice, bulgur or quinoa.
