Reading...
I've always enjoyed author Gretchen Rubin's books especially Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives (reviewed here).  In this journey of self-experimentation, the author draws on cutting-edge science, philosophy, literature, and her own efforts to explore the mysteries and joys of the five senses as a path to a happier, more mindful life. Rubin goes through each sense, undertaking  challenges to see if the experiences change the way she uses her senses. She provides profound insights and practical suggestions for how to heighten our awareness of our senses and use our powers of perception to live more fulfilling lives. This book is a real eye opener.

Watching...
I wanted to watch this drama awhile ago because I'd heard good things about it and it's highly entertaining. Set during the preparation period known as the off season, this drama focuses on a losing Korean professional baseball team as their new general manager comes in a tries to make changes to rebuild the team with a goal to help them become a winning team. Though its set in the sports world, it's a character driven show centered around the challenges and political and power struggles, the GM must deal with as he sets out to accomplish his goals.

Finished Watching...
I had no interest in the first Tale of the Nine Tailed because I'm not a fan of the female lead and I heard some pretty bad things about it but I kind of knew I wanted to watch this sequel almost as soon as it was announced that Kim So Yeon (a favorite of mine) would be one of the leads. As former mountain god Ryu Hong Joo, she is one of the best things about this show with a wardrobe that is TTDF. This season sees the title character transported back in time to 1938 when South Korea was under Japanese colonial rule. He faces a number of obstacles before he can make his way home. There is action, humor, and heart. This was highly enjoyable and I think you can watch it without watching the first season. We just watched one of those recaps on Youtube. Hoping they will do a 3rd season with this cast.

Eating...
My sesame noodles go into the cooking rotation when it gets warmer. I wanted to make them healthier so I took inspiration from this BA recipe  and started adding broccoli and kale which kicks up the vegetables and fiber. I've also added tofu for protein and upped the amount of vinegar for a brighter flavor. It's even better this way. I'll try to post the reworked recipe soon.

Drinking...
While I don't drink alcohol, I'm a big fan of drinks with benefits. This drink combines a cup of water with the juice of a lemon and two tablespoons of chia seeds. This drink can aid digest as well as boost gut health. The fiber helps to feed the probiotics that are naturally present in our. Chia seeds are a good source of omega-3 fats, B-complex vitamins, fiber, and plant based protein. I make mine with seltzer which makes it more refreshing and sometimes I'll add other fruit like berries. I think watermelon would probably be good too.

Obsessed with...
Kewpie Mayo is one of my pantry staples because it's like the best mayonnaise ever so when I heard about their two-in-one dressing and marinade, I knew I had to try it. It has a rich umami and roasted sesame flavor that is absolutely delicious. I like it on salads but it works nicely as a marinade for fish and chicken as well. My only complaint is that it's a touch on the sweet side so I usually add some rice vinegar to cut that.

Getting better thanks to...
Physical Therapy
I've been going to physical therapy twice weekly. While I have seen some improvements, it's a work in process. I've been diligently doing my home exercise program as well.

Loving my...
I had this mat on my January wish list and just bought it a few weeks ago when I was able to get it for 30% off. It combines two powerful healing technologies—pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy  emits electromagnetic waves that mimic natural frequencies found in nature to stimulate and encourage the body’s natural recovery process and infrared has a deeply penetrating heat that promotes enhanced blood flow and improved muscle recovery. My husband and I have both been using it and it helps with sleep as well.

Hey Rowena,

Loving your moodboards, they are so well curated and you show many different topics that look so good together :)

First of all I am happy to read that your therapy sesions are going well. Having peace of mind and making process with our inner self is the first step to enjoy other things, and some of those things are really simple like significant: reading a book, cooking a nice recipe (the one you shared sounds delithful).

The book of Life in Five Senses is also a great addition to live your life in the best possible way :)
