It's been a rough week. I keep hearing that America is better than this. The truth is America isn’t better than this. This is exactly what this country is for anyone who hasn't been living in a bubble of toxic positivity. Those of us who haven't been ignoring reality all saw this coming. Good luck to those who will continue living in ignorant bliss because things are about to get even worse.
This is where I talk about some of the beauty products I've been loving lately...
I'm currently using a small bottle of this very popular hair mask because I've heard such good things about it and I can say this one is worth the hype. The results were impressive the first time I used it. So you skip conditioner and apply after washing your hair and it does it's thing. This mask has made my hair so much more manageable, shiny and bouncy while improving the condition of my hair. I'm definitely repurchasing this.
This ultra-rich, multi-use oil is formulated with vitamin C rich amla, a powerful antioxidant used in Ayurvedic healing, as well as calming turmeric, soothing marula oil, aloe vera, avocado oil and potent botanicals to nourish skin with a radiant and glowing finish. I love the lightweight feel of this oil as much as how well it hydrates without feeling heavy or greasy. A little goes a long way for nourished skin that feels amazing. And the light citrus scent is so refreshing.
$48 (3.2 oz / 95 mL) at Nordstrom, Credo Beauty
Featuring chaga mushroom extract, 7-year fermented vinegar, green tea extract, centella asiatica, and artemisia annua extract, this cleanser works to effortlessly cleanse without stripping away essential moisture or disrupting the skin barrier. The jelly texture cleanser feels lovely and it gently and effectively removes SPF, excess oil, and impurities leaving skin feeling clean, soft and hydrated. I like this one both as a morning cleanser and also as a second cleanser in a double cleanse routine.
$23 (4 fl oz / 120 mL) at iHerb
Boasting a SPF50+ PA++++, this organic sunscreen is made with a golden ratio of hyaluronic acid and centella asiatica extract to soothe, hydrate and protect skin. Arugula leaf, green tea and broccoli extracts provide antioxidant benefits that help improve skin condition. I can't believe it took me so long to try this sunscreen. It is so good! The creamy formula absorbs quickly without any white cast or greasy residue. One of the best sunscreens I've ever used.
I've been using this highlighting gel cream over my moisturizer to add an instant glow. Ceramides, squalane and hyaluronic acid provide a dose of cooling nourishment. It imparts a radiance boosting glow that is subtle and natural. My skin always looks better when I use it.
$70 (2.53 fl oz / 70 mL) at Sephora, iNNBEAUTY Project

Rowena,
I don’t know where to start except to say I love you. You are a bright light to me. And I appreciate your candor, love, support and grace. I’d love to try the Alo Glow Oil.

Thanks for the heads up on that SKIN 1004 Sun Serum, chingu! I'm always on the look out for a great sunscreen, and I like that it's absorbed quickly.
PS Totally agree with your sentiment. Canada is in the same position unfortunately, and I do feel helpless most days. I really fear for my kids, and what the future holds. :(
No, I haven't used any of these skin care products but I always appreciate your recommendations. I know you know a lot about skin products and you always do your research before buying. Something we should all do really.
Take care!
As for the current situation, I've been expecting political unrest and economic trouble for the last 10 to 15 years, so nothing surprises me. I expect things will get a lot worse for all of us.
