Style Wise : Marni x H&M Spring 2012

I've feel like I've been inundated with images from the forthcoming Marni x H&M collaboration Look Book over the past week and I can see why this designer collab is so highly anticipated. Marni is well known for boldly elegant prints and relaxed silhouettes and the eclectic aesthetic of the brand has been pretty well translated in this refined capsule collection which launches on March 8th. Unlike H&M's Versace collaboration, these pieces actually look wearable and the price points which range from $9.95 to $149.00 are more reasonable. The dreamy looking ad campaign featuring models Liu Wen and Imogen Poots lounging about a Moroccan Villa was photographed by Sofia Coppola. There is also a film directed by Coppola which can be viewed here.

Initially I was totally impressed and couldn't wait for the Versace collaboration...but once I saw the photos of the items and the prices...I wasn't totally sold. This time, the Marni collection seems much more affordable and I love the prints!

I'm actually very impressed with this collaboration. I wasn't keen on the Versace collection nor the Jimmy Choo either.

beautiful!
i love the dress with dotted patterns. love how they put a twist on polka dots! :)
i think the thin ties are awesome, too. (just that i think they would only go with flat tummies. lol)

Actually it's the H&M collaboration I look forward to the most. There are a few items I absolutely adore. And I loved Sofia Coppola's film, she has an original style of filming.

if I want something of that, which I do, does it mean I have to camp outside H&M for hours? ;-)

Ahh, I love this collab, but unfortunately, there's no HM nearby! Sucks to be here in the south!

I think Liu Wen is starting to be the next sort after Asian model. She does have strong character. I saw her on DVS runway and she's gorgeous.
I like the new designs by Marni for H&M and I think the chunky bracelets are a must-have!

I really like the Marni collaboration with H&M! I think their collection is indeed much more wearable and chic. I wasn't that impressed with Versace for H&M... but this is something I'll definitely check out :)
Good luck!
