AHAVA Dead Sea Plants Firming Body Cream

AHAVA Dead Sea Plants Firming Body Cream, Ahava Review, Ahava Body Cream

While I'm fairly open to trying new products when it comes to facial skincare, I tend to stick with the same products in terms of body care.  As summer approaches, I've been paying a bit more attention to the skin on my body to ensure that it will look it's best as I make the switch from long sleeves to short and pants and tights to bare legs. I added a sunless tanning product into the routine a few weeks ago and I'm now trying out this AHAVA Dead Sea Plants Firming Body Cream.

About the Brand: AHAVA Dead Sea Laboratories was founded to study the powerful, rejuvenating minerals found in the Dead Sea and grown to become the definitive Dead Sea mineral beauty expert. AHAVA's formulations use a unique blend of minerals from the Dead Sea: magnesium, calcium, bromides and potassium, necessary ingredients for glowing skin and overall good health, are present in unsurpassed concentrations. Their unique cruelty-free product line features the exclusive benefits of the Dead Sea paired with the latest innovations in skincare.

Product Claims: A nourishing anti-aging cream that defines body’s contours and recovers lost skin firmness while improving tone and elasticity. This product is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types even sensitive.

Key Ingredients: Powered by Osmoter, AHAVA's exclusive blend of minerals, sourced from the waters of the Dead Sea which optimize cell metabolism, strengthens skin against UV damage, and significantly increases moisture levels to keep it looking young and supple. Caffeine and artichoke extracts promote firmness and improve tone in sagging areas while centela asiatica and palm date peptides encourage collagen and elastin production. Aloe vera gel cools inflammation. Green tea extract and vitamin E neutralize free radicals. Paraben and SLS/SLES-free.

Packaging: A plastic squeeze tube with a flip top dispenser.

Price: $39 for 6.8 oz / 200 mL

How to Use: Smooth generously onto clean skin, using circular massage motions. Concentrate on sag prone areas, such as thighs, hips, waist, buttocks, and upper arms.

My Impressions: This product has a lightweight, silky texture that really makes it feel more like a cream than a lotion. Considering the dead sea ingredients, I expected it to have a marine scent but it's more of an overwhelming floral fragrance which I didn't particularly care for. At least it spreads evenly and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. This cream works well as in terms of hydration leaving my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I'm not really sure about it's efficacy in terms of firming since I don't really have any saggy skin. My skin looks toned but I honestly can't tell if it appears any firmer. AHAVA Dead Sea Plants Firming Body Cream is a good moisturizer and the contouring benefits are nice but not something I need right now so I don't see this as a product I would repurchase. The strong scent was also off putting.

AHAVA Dead Sea Plants Firming Body Cream is available through Amazon and Skinstore, as well as the brand's own website.

I've used firming body moisturizers many years ago but I don't really believe in them. I think that eating clean and exercise are the major keys to a firm body.

Well, all the better that your skin is still naturally firm! :-) I don't think a body cream can do much firming anyway. Softening and moisturizing, sure, but tone? Naw.

Like you, I've been working in some new products and techniques to ensure the skin on my body is 'ready' for the sleeves to disappear! The moisturising qualities sound promising, though as you don't really need the claimed firming effect, it does rather sound as though it might be better suited to 'future Rowena' :)

I have used the Nivea one back in the days, but I didn't like it at all after reading the ingredient list. That one sounds much nicer.

I use body lotions no matter what time of the year is, and to be honest I've tried a lot. Not sure if I have used a firming one. This one sounds good, I wouldn't mind the strong scent, although I would expect a marine scent too instead of floral. Happy Monday, Rowena!xo

I love this brand, so I would like to try this one.

It's kind of difficult to imagine how the cream doesn't scent marine at all :D However... Floral scent smells even better I guess ^^

I've never used a firming body cream, and I probably should! This sounds good, but the strong fragrance tho....sigh....thanks for the honest review, Rowena:)

I am using a St. Ives firming body lotion which is absolutely lovely but the firming claim is ridiculous which I think goes the same for this Ahava body lotion. The only way to firm up our saggy bits is by working out, or at least that's the only thing that works for me.

To be honest, I am always on the fence when I see a firming or toning product ... but since this has good ingredients in it might do more over time if regularly used. I like the Ahava brand! I think targeted exercise and cardio is my preference for firming. But, I also make a coconut and olive oil scrub, and just make a homemade caffeine scrub with cocoa butter that I like.

I really don't believe in firming body creams although I buy them all the time, lol. Happy Monday, Rowena.

Why do companies do that? I hate scented body products (well at least florals lol). It's just not a pleasant scent! Thanks for telling us about this Rowena. I would've thought the same thing.

Yeah, as I have mentioned before I don't think a cream or lotion can firm or lift, that would probably require surgery. But they can smooth, brighten and keep wrinkles at bay.

I'm the same way Rowena, when it comes to body care I am very hesitant to try certain things. I've had break outs because of it. I've also never used a firming body cream because usually I can never tell if it's working. So I typically stay away from them. But I have used one just because it hydrated my skin very well.. and I wanted to use up the bottle lol. Great review.

I don't think I could stomach something like this. I despise creams with floral scents, especially over powering ones. I can practically smell it now bahahaha! BTW if you have any more recomendations for K Dramas then send them my way! I've got 2 more episodes left of My Love From Another Star (probably down to 1 after you read this) and I need more! I'm open to anything but I have to say I've been loving the Rom-Com style of these two shows I've been watching!

sounds like a good product but firming and slimming creams are pretty hard to test to be honest, I'm not really sure if they do much for the skin.

Sounds lovely but the claim that it firms skin is a stretch. I've been told it's only possible through a good diet exercise or plastic surgery.
Nice to learn about this brand though.

Hmm, I wouldn't have expected a floral scent...

I have tried firming creams with caffeine but it was temporarily "fix" although my skin felt good! I enjoyed your honest review of this firming cream product and hope to try it out soon!

Interesting! I'm not a big fan of overly floral scented products either although my toosh could probably do with some firming.
