Current Mood

Loving... peony season! Gotta live it up now!

Listening... to Hins Cheung's P.S. I Love You after Speaking Out (不吐不快) came on my iTunes and I just had to sing along. Been missing Cantonese music and this has always been one of my fave albums.

Eating... lots of poké which seems to be the it food in NYC right now. Feeling lucky that the excellent Chikarashiis so close to me. I need to try to making poké at home.

Drinking... homemade lemonade. I like my lemonade very lemony with a touch of coconut sugar and matcha.

Organizing... my collection of sheet masks with two clear Muji bins. Since crossing over into triple digits, I've been masking every day.

Watching... Season 4 of House of Cards like finally. I was previously otherwise engaged with my K-dramas Descendants of the Sun and then Signal.

Wearing... denim skirts and sneakers. This is my favorite combination!

Picked up... this fun ring (like literally!) on a whim and wearing every day since.

Finally got my hands on... this Blossom Jeju Pink Camellia Soombi Essence Serum during Glow Recipe's recent promo. It might be awhile before I try it since I have some other products to be used ahead of it but this product will probably eventually be reviewed here.

Contemplating... a new haircut. I might try more layers or going asymmetric with my bob.

Not loving... how it suddenly feels like summer when it felt like we barely had a spring but dealing with it.

What's up with you?

Just a quick rant and PSA. So earlier this week, I discovered two of my original photos were being used by other bloggers on their blogs and IG's and being passed off as their own. And when I informed them that the photos were mine, their excuse was that they found them on Pinterest and didn't know the source. That's really lame in this day and age, not to mention you shouldn't use images if you don't know where they came from. They must not be too bright or they didn't care because they didn't even notice my watermark on there. I don't make my watermarks big and obvious but they're there in case something like this happens. But back to my point, Pinterest is not a source! And bloggers really need would stop citing Pinterest as a source because it's more of an aggregator. If you pinned an image, it's still not yours and to credit your photos: "from my Pinterest" is both lazy and incorrect. If you follow the link from Pinterest and it doesn't lead you back to the source, you can also right-click on the photo and select "Search Google for Image. You might have to do a little work, but it's better than taking credit for something that's not yours.

I am sorry to hear about your pictures. I feel like many people don´t have a feeling for the hard work that goes into creating content and, even more difficult, for the law that protects pictures and videos. Finding the source is maybe not always easy, but just using it is illegal.

Wow what bother me they gave you a lame excuse instead of apologizing and giving you credit on their accounts and blog or removing it. Sorry you have to experience that. Have a lovely weekend.

That fun ring is literally FUN...hehe...and OMG on your sheet mask collection. I may be slightly jealous:P

PS So sorry to hear about your pics not being credited like that:( You put a lot of effort on your photos, and that really sucks when other people don't acknowledge that!

I agree with Emmy, especially because I hate when they take advantage of a lovely person like you are.
I love peonies too! Going to look for Coconut sugar, I didn't even know it existed. Baci, Valeria - Coco et La vie en rose NEW POST

Wtf, Rowena! Really? I can't believe there are people who don't even check the source of the images they use! It's a shame to act this way, I always link back or inform where the photo was taken from. That's awful, I don't want to imagine that this could happen to me too. I would have felt robbed! However, I wanted to tell you that you should share your lemonade recipe with us! I am interested to read about it. Denim skirt and sneakers is a cool combo, I also like it! Happy Friday, Rowena!xo

Oh gosh, how ignorant are some people and I would be pissed off if that to happened to me. It seems to be more and more common for bloggers to either get their pictures or blog posts copied and passed off as the other person's original copy. Sorry that it happened to you, Rowena. :-(

Peonies are so beautiful! I never see them around (in New Orleans) which sucks, because I would love to have them. You're so lucky! I love lemonade also Rowena. It's so refreshing. That FUN ring is the best! It's going to look awesome on you and what a great purchase. Horrid, that they didn't ask permission or credit your picture! People steal everything nowadays with absolutely no regard! I'm so glad you made them recognize what they had done. Maybe they'll be more aware. It puts them on alert. Have a great weekend Rowena ((hug))

OMG! Rowena, that is horrible, but unfortunately this has happened to me. I agree, these days it is so easy to get source info. for most all images. I tend to watermark images inconspicuosly.
Will have to check out the other season of House of Cards, as I liked the previous ones! Happy weekend! :-)

I have watched the last season of House of Cards and it was intriguing and exciting as always. It took me a while to get into the story (season 1) but I'm glad that I gave it a second chance and I just love it!!!

Sorry to hear about the photo thing. A similar thing happened to me recently and I took action immediately. It's sad when you see that people take your stuff without asking. I don't mind giving but at least ask my permission before. So yeah. I also don't see Pinterest as a source... I thought about watermarking my pics again but it would be very tedious and it doesn't look too nice. But maybe I will go back to doing this.

How frustrating that girls were using your photos and trying to pass them off as their own. I always credit the person when I use their photo and if I don't know, I put a little caption saying "if this is your photo let me know and I'll give you the credit".. You need to respect others work!
On a happy note.. you take beautiful pictures!

I can't believe they just took your photos like that! and they didn't even appologize...shame on them. People nowadays have no respect for intellectual and art property, it makes me so mad.

Nice to read about your current mood...and those poenies are gorgeous!!! Amazing photo!!!

I've been loving lemonade myself these days! Had one just now haha! Sorry about what happened with the other bloggers. Personally, I think it's fine posting a picture as long as you say it is not yours, even if you don't mention or know whose it is.

Woohoo to peonies and poke! I wish we had better fresh seafood here!
Oh and SO not cool about those other bloggers stealing your photos. I also try to cite sources or look for them - give credit where credit is due!

ahhh, House of Cards? My hubby's been raving about it so much to me and said that it's one of the best series and asking me to watch it quite some time back. I don't feel like going into a series right now, not just yet, haha *_^ He also said Penny Dreadful is very good too.

Your masks are going into the 3 digits and doing mask everyday?? wow, you are very diligent, Rowena! I wish I am half as hardworking with my mask as you! Your skin must be glowing by now *_^

That fun ring looks lovely, I like the fluidity of the design and your peony is so pink! That essence serum bottle is so cute and I can't wait to read your review here in the future.

Oh dear, what a bummer. So after you confronted the blogger, did he/she at least cite the credit back to you? Since you have pointed out they are your pictures?

Hope you are coping well with the fact that summer is just around the corner for you there in NYC... it felt like spring just arrived not long for you .... right? Time flies.

Have a lovely new week, my friend.

mmmm...poke! i hear you about stealing images. someone reposted one of my videos with no credit or tag back to me. i just happened to notice because she liked a few of my photos and the followed me (on IG). so, of course, i checked out her page and was going to like a few posts when, hey...that looks like my video! and sounds like my music! my friend reached out to her and she claimed she gave credit. she took the video down and unfollowed me! haha

I enjoyed your latest experiences and that sucks BIG TIME about someone using your pictures, give lames excuses, and not a "I am sorry"!! From stealing a written homework to videos, piracy is piracy!!
