Blithe Patting Splash Masks For Better Skin in 30 Seconds

Facial masks are an integral step my skincare routine. My favorite type would probably be sheet masks since they don't require the additional step of rinsing off. But I don't always feel like committing the time to a sheet mask or a wash off mask so I was quite intrigued by the K-beauty concept of splash masks which are inspired by the Korean bathhouse tradition of splashing botanical steeped water onto the face after cleansing to tone and brighten skin. While splashing, you're also patting the mask into your skin for quick absorption and this basically condenses a 20 minute mask routine into a 15 - 30 second action. I wanted to find out if it was possible to splash my way to better skin and I will be reviewing the Blithe Patting Splash Mask Rejuvenating Purple Berry. I had purchased this product awhile ago and only got around to trying it recently.

BLITHE PATTING SPLASH MASKS

About the Brand: Blithe is a Korean beauty brand that focuses on innovative skincare formulations made with the finest pure and natural botanicals and extracts. Their range of next generation multi-tasking products deliver visible results while providing anti-aging and anti-pollution benefits. Their product line is free of parabens, sulfates, pthlalates, synthetic dyes, fragrances and mineral oil.

Product Claims: A concentrated blend of lactic acid, nourishing botanical extracts and glycerin in each splash mask works to re-texturize and smooth skin instantly and increase radiance over time. The Blithe Patting Splash Mask in Rejuvenating Purple Berry is formulated with antioxidant packed berries (including acai, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, raspberry and fruit extracts) to help leave skin looking brighter, smoother and more youthful with each use. This particular splash mask which balances skin while providing anti-aging and firming benefits is suitable for normal to dry skin types.

How to Use: Pour a capful of splash mask in the shower and splash and pat on the face, avoiding the eye and lip area. Then use the water from the shower to splash and rinse off the face. Repeat a few times. Follow with your usual skincare steps. Here is a short video showing this method in action.

Alternatively, you can dilute a capful of the fluid in a clean bowl of about 24 oz. of water (the ideal ratio is 1:100). Stir to mix, then gently pat the mixture onto the skin until it feels slightly damp. Follow with your skincare.

My Impressions: Personally I prefer the first method because it's easier. I just do it over the sink after I wash my face since washing your face in the shower is a big beauty no no. This splash mask has a slippery essence meets water like texture and it smells a lot like grape juice. You can definitely feel the potency of the product on it's own. The process of using it is incredibly easy since it is like splashing water onto your face continuously and just one treatment left my skin feeling refreshed, refined and soft. Lactic acid, a popular form of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) is an exfoliant that improves skin clarity and reduces the appearance of fine lines. In combination with the antioxidant botanicals and glycerin, the ingredients in this mask essentially provide a gentle micro peel with each use. I admit I was a little skeptical about this product but I bought it because I of my curiosity. I can see and feel a visible difference in my skin whenever I include it in my routine so I believe it's the real deal. While I wouldn't wouldn't give up on sheet masks, I think this is a really good supplemental treatment for late nights or on mornings when your skin needs a pick me up. This type of next generation treatment is also great for those who just don't have the time or don't want to commit to a full on skin care routine. This mask can be used in the morning or evening and each bottle has enough for 30 uses. It is gentle enough that it can be used every day. I want to try the Energizing Honey and Citrus Patting Splash Mask next!

Blithe Patting Splash Masks are also available in two other versions: Soothing & Healing Green Tea with green tea extract and tea tree leaf oil to quickly soothe and calm irritated skin and Energizing Citrus & Honey with citrus fruit extracts and honey to help brighten skin for a natural, youthful glow. I actually also have the Green Tea one which I already reviewed on Instagram. It's really effective at soothing skin! I use it when my skin needs calming but my husband has mostly been using the Green Tea version. He does a sheet mask with me once a week and this is an easy way for him to get in a few more facial treatments. His skin has show a clear improvement too. I actually have him on his own skincare routine. Let me know if this is something, you'd be interested in seeing a post on.

Blithe Patting Splash Masks retail for $45 and can be purchased from Sephora, Glow Recipe (get $5 off with this link) and Cult Beauty. Some people might balk at the price but if you break it down to 30 uses, that's just $1.50 per use which is still less than the price of most sheet masks.

What do you think of this type of splash mask treatment? Is this something you would try?

Splashing our way to a better complexion sounds like fun! It is certainly great that this process is not as time consuming as face masks...we get a nicer skin in only a dozen of seconds, that seems great and appropriate even for the laziest girls:)

It is great news these splash masks are affective and soothing for the skin.

Gosh! Considering the time I spend online reading a lot of stuff related to Kbeauty, this is the first time I'm hearing of splash masks! Where have I been? Thanks for the heads up on this, Rowena. You are truly my #1 source for anything related to K stuff:D I'll give this a go when I see it here.

This is the second time I'm reading about splash mask but I am sceptical that such treatment within 30 seconds would make a difference. Good to know that it actually works, Rowena and I 100% trust your review. May I ask why it's a huge no no washing the face in the shower? I do that for my second cleanse in the evenings. I washed my hair then second cleanse with my Olay Pro-X and whatever cleanser that I am using that evening then wash the rest of my body.

It's the first time I ever heard of a splash mask, but reading your review makes me want to try it. Sounds like something I need in my life, esp that 30 sec thing is great as it is time saving. I do a mask every morning and it takes up much of my time, just 30 seconds would be so heavenly. So, sold ;)

This is the first time I hear about splash masks! You're my skincare guru honestly! My only concern is: how do you splash it avoiding lips and eyes? Maybe a "mist" formula would be more practical? Much love dear, thank you for another great review!! Baci, Coco et La vie en rose fashion blog - Valeria Arizzi

I'd never heard of a splash mask before, what a fun concept! I like that it works even though it doesn't stay on your face as long as a regular mask.

I have never heard of splash mask, but it is definitely something I'd try. I also prefer masks that don't require rinsing, but this sound very different from the other masks. Btw, why is it a no no to wash your face in the shower? And yes, it would be nice to read about your hubby skin routine, Rowena!

Rowena, I am just like everyone else...I've never heard of a splash mask! How intriguing! This is so interesting and it makes sense. It has some wonderful benefits for the skin and I'm so glad it worked for you. Yaaaay about your hubby being on a skincare routine. I LOVE to hear that! I love when men take care of themselves. I can just picture your sheet mask time together. You two are so cute. Hope you had a fabulous week.

aaahhh I saw this on your IG and I told myself I definitely must come by here to have a read, Rowena as the concept is so intriguing! True enough, it sounded like one, and I especially love the fact that it is packed full of so much goodness in a bottle *_^

I couldn't find the link to the video you mentioned here so I went to youtube and did some searching and found one or two videos that mentioned this product, but they were the green tea one and the honey one as well. I just wanted to see how this product can be used in action *_^

Sounds like a winner and I would mind trying the one out! Definitely on my wish list now, thanks for introducing this, my friend. Even your hubby sees the difference after using this, it must be working wonders then!

Have a great weekend ahead, my friend.

I've been fascinated by this, but the price seemed high to me for something that sounded a bit gimmicky, so I'm glad you described it. When I wash my face it's like a tsunami so I worry about avoiding the eyes part of the instruction, but the grape smell sounds good. :)

this sounds so lovely, I love grape scents and that packaging is to die for too. Will have to look up their availability in the UK to see if they are available.
