Eye Candy : Im Siwan for Sure

Siwan, Im Siwan, Im Shi Wan, Im Shi Wan Sure, Siwan Sure, Siwan NYC, Siwan New York, Siwan 2016, Siwan ZE:A

Im Siwan is an urbane man about town as he takes is slow in the streets of New York City for the pages of Sure Korea. He is stylishly clad in the Korean sportswear brand Chris Christy, not to be confused with the ridiculously awful New Jersey governor with the same name. In the accompanying interview, Siwan talks about the happiness that acting has brought into his life. Following his breakout performance in Misaeng, it was reported that Siwan received over 50 casting offers. The cute 27 year old actor who is a member of the music group ZE:A has been wisely selective in choosing his roles since and will next be seen in the crime caper One Line alongside Jin Goo of Descendants of the Sun fame. Misaeng (Incomplete Life) happens to be one of my top ten K-dramas of all time. The show, a brilliantly realistic slice of life depiction of contemporary office culture was both a critical and ratings hit as well as a cult phenomenon. Siwan was the emotional center of Misaeng and his portrayal of Jang Geu Rae was quietly compelling and infinitely relatable at the same time. He held his own among a solid cast that included the always brilliant Lee Sung Min and impish scene stealer Byun Yo Han. I was also impressed when he appeared on Running Man earlier this year. Siwan was refreshingly low key and game for anything instead of acting entitled and waiting to be fawned over like most idols or some actresses.

I really like the easy going feel of this editorial and being a New Yorker, I recognized the Financial District, Tribeca and Soho locations right away. Given the lack of people milling around, they must've done this shoot fairly early in the morning. I see my fair share of celebs around the city especially in Tribeca and it's no big deal. I'd be more excited to spot an Asian celeb for sure. Magazines really like to use Staple Street as seen in the second image as a backdrop. It was also featured in Park Shin Hye's InStyle pictorial set in NYC. The only criticism I would have is that the last photo looks like an afterthought that doesn't belongs with the rest thanks to the dodgy styling (that Etro shirt looks like a lady's blouse) and awkward PPL with the sunscreen.

Oh man! Siwan looks soooooo good in this editorial. I can't wait to see One Line with him and Jin Goo. He was just fantastic in MISAENG...almost seems like the role was written for him!Is he still a part of the ZE:A? When I was looking for recent pics of the group, I don't see him as much. I guess he's filming already? Anyhoo, I do agree about that last shot though....heehee...it's like it's from a different shoot!

I'm really having a hard time watching Healer:( I've seen up to ep 2 and even with JCW, I don't know why the show is not grabbing me....huhuhu...and that makes me kinda sad if Yoona is his next leading lady! Waaaaaaaaaah! Why is she so popular?!?!?

Am currently watching Let's Fight Ghost with W right now. Let me tell you...there are some scenes with LJS that are supposed to be serious but makes me LOL. I was really surprised to read he's been getting praise for his acting on this one:P I do like their romantic scenes though. I'll check out Ten and The Woman Who Wants To Marry! As soon as I get back into my romance phase, I'll probably watch City Hall soon:D

The last photo doesn't match the whole concept indeed, but that's my opinion. The shirt is not ok, I don't like men wearing V-shaped blouses, and the sunscreen is just awkward. Otherwise, the photos in the streets are pretty and having in mind how crowded is NYC, they have either done the photos early in the morning indeed, or they have occupied the area for some time. Have a nice weekend, Rowena!xo

Yes, the styling with the last image is not favourable. It's as if they gave up with that one or were too tired to finish the concept---they probably should have had more of the background in that image instead of it being zoomed in. As for the other images, I like the fourth one the best. Isn't it marvellous when you can pinpoint the exact streets (and location) of editorials? Enjoy your weekend, Rowena. x

Haha! I love that you mentioned the awful governor. LOL! I love it when an actor is careful and very selective in what role he wants to play, smart move for the future.

I guess living in New York has some advantages, like seeing celebs around. Although I think you get used to it sooner or later.

Oh my! That first and third photo of him are just downright gorgeous! LOL His hair! I love the blazers he's wearing. I see why he's in demand. I'm laughing at the Chris Christie (Christy) political/designer comment Rowena. LOL I didn't know how too faced the NJ governor was until he jumped on the Trump ship and now has nerve to disagree with him :( He blows like the wind! LOL Great way to end the week.

I totally forgot where Staples Street is located! I would be excited about seeing any celeb really. It's nice to see them both in shoot settings, but going about leading normal lives too.

This is a fantastic editorial - I love that you share these on Rolala Loves, Rowena! The fluid materials flow so well and in a way are quite feminine? It works well!

haha I get what you mean about that last photo, that PPL is so out of place *_^

I am not familiar with this actor and I know I would if I had watched the series of your favourites which I told me before, but have not gotten around it, just yet! haha

Overall, it is quite a pleasing editorial and the NYC backdrop is always an interesting character to add to any fashion shoot *_^

Have fun over the weekend, dearie.

Ooooooo...thanks for the heads up about the new pics, Rowena! I really love the one where he's wearing the eyeglasses...very Clark Kent and attractive...heehee....
And I know you're really super picky, sunbae, but W is really quite a show. The writing is just awesome, esp. the last episode IMO. LJS is even growing on me just because of how his character Kang Cheol is written. And you know, you did warn me about Healer not being as good as the others...I should have heeded your advice.:)
