3B Beauty Box August 2016 Unboxing

3B Beauty Box, 3B Beauty Box Unboxing, Asian Beauty Box, Korean Beauty, Korean Skincare

I had been debating whether I should continue my 3B Beauty Box subscription and I've decided I'm going to stick with it for the time being since they've stepped it both with their curations and service in the past few months. The box is more securely packaged and has been landing in my mailbox in a more timely fashion which is appreciated. This is my August 2016 box. The information card that is always included now has a pretty design on the flip side which is a nice touch. Be your own kind of beautiful is such a wonderful and inspiring mantra!

3B which stands for Beauty Beyond Borders is a beauty subscription box that makes Asian beauty products more accessible overseas. This is a monthly service that costs $12. Each box contains 4 -5 deluxe samples from a range of brands and the products are supposed to be "new or popular in Asia but hard to get your hands on". I would say that 3B is like an Asian beauty version of Birchbox or Ipsy. 3B is currently just a US based subscription service. This box is ideal for anyone interested in trying out Asian beauty products or can't access them easily. It looks like there ins't a waiting list anymore and you can just sign up for a 3B Box subscription now.

Etude House Age Defense Essential Softener
Softeners are formulated to prime, rehydrate and enhance the effectiveness of moisturizers. This softener from Etude House works to smooth and firm skin by delivering moisture into the deep levels of the skin that emulsions and creams may not get to. It should be used after washing and toning for best results.

I've never used a skin softener before and this product essentially sounds like it's a moisture booster which I probably don't need know but it will come in handy when the cold dry winter air reappears. I popped it into my refrigerator for when that time comes.

TonyMoly Floria Nutra-Energy Emulsion
In the Asian beauty-verse, emulsions are a light non-sticky lotion type moisturizer that works with the skin's natural oils to promote hydration. This Floria Nutra-Energy Emulsion with hyaluronic acid, argan oil and safflower extracts is a dry skin favorite for the way it balances moisture levels and firms.

Emulsions are a really fantastic alternative to heavy creams during the summer months and I often switch out my day cream for them. This is a product I will be trying soon while I can still do light moisturizers. I've also layered emulsions under my creams when my skin needs an extra dose of moisture.

Goodal Lotus Water Cleansing Tissue
The gentle moisturizing cleansing tissue contains naturally fermented lotus flower moisture particles to effectively cleanse the face without the use of water. These wipes can be used as a non irritating makeup remover to prep the skin for cleansing.

I was excited to see a Goodal product. It's a brand that features natural fermented ingredients and I'm currently using a few of their products that I really like. I don't usually use cleansing cloths unless I'm traveling as part of a triple wash process but I do like to always have a package or two handy in my home emergency kit because you never know when you might lose power or water.

This revolutionary sheet mask made out of advanced coconut hydrogel technology, helps to purify and neutralize the effects of pollution on your skin. Acai berry, from the Amazonian rainforest in Brazil, is an antioxidant powerhouse that will purify and neutralize the effects of pollution on the skin. Vitamin C, B, and E help protect, fortify and rejuvenate skin. This mask is dermatologist tested and is suitable for all skin types including sensitive.

I've actually tried a number of Leaders sheet masks but have yet to try their 7 Wonders line. The anti-pollution claims sound intriguing and I look forward to trying this mask. The retail price is $6.00 and it can be purchased from Ulta.

An intensive hydrating gel serum that awakens skin with fresh moisture, replenishes fatigued skin, strengthens its barrier and preserves absorbed moisture so that your face feels hydrated all day long. This product is formulated with pinitol, an ingredient found in carob trees which allows it to maintain moisture and survive in barren deserts for more than 25 years.

Sample packs are usually meh to me unless they happen to be luxury skincare which this serum is. Hera is a well known Korean brand under the AmorePacific umbrella and I'm in love with the Hera V Mist Cushion Ultra Moisture. I have yet to try their skincare so this presents a great opportunity and I'm glad it's a serum because they're the most interchangeable step in my skincare routine.

I feel like beauty subscription services should be about discovery and this month's 3B Box fulfilled that criteria since it contained a range pf products that are new to me which hasn't always been the case. I feel like 3B has been making a real effort with their past few boxes. Keep up the good work 3B Beauty!

What do you think of these products? Is there one you'd be interested to try?

I see that this 3D beauty box contains a wide range of products and that is great.

I have never used a skin softener either. It will be interesting to learn about your experience with it, once it gets cold and you take it out of the fridge for a try out. Let's us know!

This TonyMoly emulsion seems like a lovely product and it is something I wouldn't mind trying myself. These water lotus tissues also seem like a great way to remove make up. I don't often use tissues to remove make up, because sometimes it irritates my skin a bit (or at least that's the sensation I get), but to me it always seems like the easiest way to do it.

This Anti-Poluttion mask also got me interested! It seems like such a revolutionary product and I love anything that has to do with coconut oil.

p.s yes, shorts can be really practical in the Summer. I like them longer with a high waist (in vintage style one could say), almost bermuda length and I was really happy I found that pair in a second hand shop.

Oooooo...you got great stuff from 3B this month IMO, Rowena:) I am liking the sound of all of them. I wish they'd do something like this for Canada. Well, there probably is a subscription box like this here but am just too lazy to research...hehe...
I've tried Leaders masks before too but not this line. And I've only heard great things about Hera skin care. Do let us know how you like the serum!

PS You know, it's really good you're so discerning with your shows:) I trust all your recs, and it saves me a lot of heartache:D And your comments on your faves and not-so-faves always make me LOL:D Right now, because of the delay with W, I've actually caught up with Let's Fight Ghost (wooo). I wish there are more Khorror/drama stuff out there. I will probably try Oh My Ghostess, but haven't read a lot of great reviews on it. Have you seen it?

So, in the end I am sure you don't regret you kept the subscription. It's great when brands and in this case a subscription service makes efforts with the provided products. Just like you, I use make-up tissues only when I travel, so these sound very good to me. I have never used any softeners, so it would be interesting to read your thought about this one.

I agree that the past couple of boxes and including this one have been great and I would be really happy to receive them as well. Again, I had no idea HERA is another company under AmorePacific, another one for me to look out for.

For only $12, that's not a bad price at all. The softener sounds great.

cool concept :) I actually work for a beauty subscription box service in my country and i'm so proud to say that we usually do full sized products. We don't release a box every month since we curate the contents and we make sure it's something our audience will really enjoy. Just this week we released a limited edition box from Inglot worth php6000+ for only Php1290 :) it sold out in 3 days <3

What a great box. I can see why you wouldn't want to give it up Rowena. I used to get the Allure Beauty Box buy had to cancel the subscription cos it wasn't relevant anymore. I'm sure this months box is very exciting since they're products you never tried prior. Enjoy and do let us know what was good.

I don't really use many beauty subscription boxes anymore, but this box seems to be such a great bang for the money spent. :) I use AmorePacific more recently, and did not know about Hera being linked to them. My sister actually just sent me some Korean skincare goodies for travelling, so I'm excited to dig into them soon. Perhaps, I'd like to try the Goodal lotus water cleansing tissues. Wish you a great weekend!

I think they're doing a great job Rowena! The selections keep getting better and better. It seems that hydration is key this month! Those cleansing tissues look really good :D I love those and want to try different brands. The Etude House Age Defense is something I would use. I'm always looking for products to help my skin bounce back. HaHa
